  • both are great. DS may have more characters and updated textures but it does'nt beat the original.

  • One of the best remake i have played. why? it added a new cool idea, more stars to get, WAY better graphics and fun minigames, yay! perfect example of a good remake.

only bad thing is it kinda hurt the fingers after awhile but the controls still works great.

so to people who consider themselves fans and say "64 i better blah blah" i would agree if it would have been a pointless remake... but it isn't. so, please, accept the fact that the DS version is better.

  • super mario 64 on n64 is cool :D

  • thumbs up if u think they should remake this for wii

  • I have both versions. DS is better.

  • Thumbs up if you hear Mario shout "Yippee Goat!" when he gets the key XD

  • So long, gay Bowser!

  • But DS game has more stars, more playable characters and best graphics...

Yes, i know...The game is like gamecube graphics, because is one of the DS games.

I like the n64 version, but... I like more the DS version... (please, don't kill me D:)

  • the whole time both screens were swinging bowser, i thought they were gonna hit each other.

  • they look exactly the same. the only differences are the character models

  • nintendo>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>sega

  • sega > nintendo

  • In 64 version, Bowser looks like a bobble head. and in the DS version, he looks like Bowser

  • n64 is better in any way

    ANY WAY

  • @ganondorf66 FUCK

  • n64 bowser is better than the ds

  • 2:05 DS wins, no contest

  • weird :|

  • 64 is awesome!!! DS is kinda like PS1.

  • @NextGenGameSystem The Ds Is Kinda Like Gamecube Graphics The 64 Is More Power Full Than Ps1 Btw!

  • @DMANDUSTYN420 Are you blind? Majority of the games are 2D and the games are fucking blury as hell. Look at games like Black Ops DS.

  • DS: The key looks like carved cheese

64: The key looks like gold

  • One thing i saw when playing the original game was that the model of Mario was splited in peases, and then riged together and animated. They aleso did that whith Bowser, the gombas and all the other models.

  • when they make the ads version it will be nothing compared to the DS version

  • so long,gay bowser!

  • Cause it has Yoshi

  • DS

  • They changed too much in the DS version... Especially by adding Yoshi, Wario, and Luigi. The sound effects in the DS version are choppy and sound pretty crappy... They changed the way the castle looks in the DS version...

  • make that a weird

  • in the begining in nintendo 64 version mario is acting gay

  • peach looks more hotter on the 64 version

  • @Unmatchable3 lol whatever you say

  • Nintendo Ds is much best luck for me i'm go to buy the nintendo Ds because nintendo 3Ds costs 69,000 in the brazil ;)

  • @MegaMegamario64 then don't buy it at all. DS is getting outdated.

    Google translate much?

  • n64 bowser looks like more as a turtle

  • A great remake indeed!!!. The DS version looks far better than the original N64 one...., let´s not forget that there are nearly8 years of difference and the DS hardware is a bit better than N64.

    Great video!

  • Models are way better on DS but there's too much aliasing

  • hmm... well I prefer the n64 cause you get the complete "history lesson" with that.

  • Lol, by looking at the DS version of Bowser,

the N64 one looks like a balloon! XD

  • OMG peach look awsome <3

  • every thin in nintedo explodes after it dies

  • The castle in the DS version looks like a large mountain of pixels compared to the N64 version 0:48

  • SO LONG GAY BOWSER!

  • Comment removed

  • The DS version has Wario in it. The N64 version doesn't even mention Wario. The N64 version wins!

  • i dont care about the graphics i think mario 64 is better

  • @aquab33m Both are mario 64 retard

  • @AngelOfGeass i dont care about your opinion ok.

  • @aquab33m :)

  • @AngelOfGeass n yes i already knew that because i have both (cant play N64 it broke)so after i got the one for the ds i realise what i was missing after 2 years it came out.

  • @aquab33m Cool story bro.

  • @AngelOfGeass your to kind

  • Bowser is an exception to the animations, but he looks better in 64, on the DS he looks pretty much solid yellow and green, 64 had scales on Bowser that were visible. They made 64 Mario better by giving him multiple pairs of hands, he has open hands for coughing, flying, spinning, and more, he also had a peace sign hand for when he got a star, DS just has fists for every main character, including Toad, and excluding Bowser. Not to mention, 64 had better cheats.

  • Okay N64 wins, first off lots of the textures for the 64 look better than the DS, like the casdtle textures, the roof looks better on the 64, DS might have "better" textures and models, but if the screen is too small, the models and textures are too pixelated, and then it looks worse. Plus the ds doesn't even have a Yoshi at the top of the roof, all you get from 150 stars is a damn minigame for Luigi. Plus 64 had better animations, Mario had a coughing one in 64, DS was being hit from behind.

  • i vote for the original super mario 64! :3!

  • Also the resolution is better on 64

  • the old mario is more expressive

  • Lol at people saying the n64 version looks better. The models/textures look so much more detailed on the ds version.

  • ds is better u get to play with 4 ppl

  • n64 is better the clouds look more realistic other then that not much is different

  • Interesting difference between the two, it seems strange that the DS mario screen lacks the light system on the 64 yet sports a more advanced shadow system than 64, though I'm curious as to why they felt that texture filtering deserved a back row seat.

  • @NodunitX

If I remember correctly, the DS hardware only has support for nearest neighbor interpolation, which can be pretty rough, while the N64 could do bilinear filtering.

  • did any one notice yoshi on the castle?

  • @commenter8977 why do you think the camera went up to him?

  • N64 is the best

  • N64 FTW

  • mario on 64 is hawt

  • N64 graphics ftw!!!

  • i love super mario 64

  • i do not have mario 64 ds protopye

  • Right shit is awful... They made Mario look gayer with his "Bye bye!" ._.

  • Te podria decir que las graficas del N64 no son pesimas y las del ds no son mejores , lo que para es que es por la edad , ya que el ds es mas reciente y el N64 mas viejo

  • N64, I'm a 90's kid.

  • DS FTW

  • n64 rulz!!!

  • @ThHomebre I think it's not a problem that you find. You make your own opinion.

  • N64 Rulz!!!

  • 0:48 yoshi sleeping in ds version

  • Comment removed

  • id say 64 still wins by a long shot... but thats nostalgia talking...

  • So Long Gay Bowser got changed by "Bye Bye"?

  • Comment removed

  • Young bowser on 64 LOL

  • Comment removed

  • "a wimp like you could never throw me out by circling the touch screen" lol wtf..

  • GRaphics don't matter, you can have the shittiest graphics ever, but the gameplay can more than make up for that, both sets of graphics look good for the time they were made in, obviously the DS' garphics card has more power than that of the N64, but the N64 version has better gameplay so, by default that makes the N64 version superior.

  • @Sonic62920 yeah but if the graphics are so bad you can't understand what you are playing then its bad but mario 64 is awesome with its graphics and people have got to understand that graphics don't make a game its the enjoyment you get out of them

  • Wait.. was that a sleeping Yoshi on the roof of the castle on the DS version?

Also the N64 version have better graphics because they didnt try to cram the textures on to that low res which means it doesnt look pixelated but it is blocky and in my opinion blocky is better than messed up texture... A huge problem in todays games because people think that they can get away with having low res textures as long as it looks like its good. (Computer games have LESS of this but 6 yo consoles.. wow -.-")

  • nintendo 64 is better

  • Mario Teaches Typing head is still the best compared to these title screens.

  • graphics don't matter to me unless i don't know what one thing is

  • jaja de la onu no sabe por q chingaos se puso eso

  • la verdad el 64 es un clasico y los inventores podran crear millones de juegos de mario pero nunca con el sentido comun por que isieron mario 64

  • DS Version intro is longer. In the DS Version you can play with 4 characters. N64 Version has better controls. DS Version has better graphics.

  • @nincaprisun better graphics... no it does not have better graphics. Are you fuckiin...

  • legal 64

  • N64 bowser is SHIT!!!!!

i rememberthose graphics were awesome when i was a kid.

    lol

  • @allanmhanson the DS graphcs are even shitter then because it makes the n64 version look next gen lmao

  • @allanmhanson So, what if I told you graphics didn't matter?

  • @CrashSucksMariosaGOD i know

    i love my Wii

    all the time

  • Can't beat that antialiasing

  • @fierothehedgehog lol its not antialiasing, its just higher definition compared to the ds version.

  • in sm64ds bowser looks more evil

  • Well, i don't have any problems with the DS controls, but both are great, although the DS version has more things to do and characters to play...

Bowser got a great model upgrade...

  • how do you make videos with 2 videos between eachoder?

  • The DS key looks weird...

  • bye bye <<<<<<< SO LONG, GAY MOUNTAIN!

  • cant beat the orignal, the controls on the ds sux

  • would love a remake on wiiu when its out :)

  • bowser on the n64 used to scare me

  • I hope they make a remake of Super Mario 64 on the 3DS. Or a sequel (a real sequel, not like Super Mario Galaxy).

  • @DroubleA2 Why would you want ANOTHER remake of SM64?

  • @ingentingfilmen Because this remake would make the graphics better and in 3D. Also SM64 was the best, they should have skipped the DS remake and should have done it on the 3DS.

  • @DroubleA2 I personally want new games and not remakes, and im fine with the ds remake being the only one as it was better in everything compared to the original

  • @ingentingfilmen

Except the controls. The original Mario 64 was practically made around an analog stick. It just feels off without one. I guess the 3DS circle pad comes close, but since Mario 64 DS wasn't programmed for it, the input is still the same 8-way as the D-pad.

I wouldn't mind a remake, but it is perhaps too soon.

  • @dunnono00 I don't mind the controls in 64ds, they work fine, you get used to it fast, If Nintendo should remake any mario game on te 3ds its either Mario World 2 or Sunshine

  • mejores graficas en ds

  • me gusta mas la caja del ds y el empiieso de n64

  • N64: So long, Gay Bowser!

    DS: Bye bye!

  • I got 100% on the DS version once & the N64 version 3 times :/

  • DS vgraphics looks like PSX, so N64 version has better graphics.

  • @GreatBroly are you blind?

  • @0danmaster0 I think he thinks that the N64 had better graphics for its time.

  • @IwubMaiColettie If you compare sm64 to banjo kazooie or conker's bad fur day it kind of looke like shit

  • @IwubMaiColettie well yeah, that's a given. I do think the DS version is nicer to look at though.

  • @0danmaster0 DS version is more detailed, ok. But nothing more. The resolution is too low, there is no pixel filter, there is so much flickering and more graphic errors. Ah, and the contrast is much better con N64 version.

(Sorry if I have a bad english, I'm learning it).

  • @GreatBroly instead the DS version is a better game overall with more stuff to do and more things to get.

  • How could they remove "SO LONG GAY BOWSER!" from the DS version? That was like the best thing ever

  • @zzyzx0788 I agree in full.

  • how nintendo wants to call this a recreation, only is 70% same

  • actully i think its a draw

  • Bowser scared the shit outta me on the n64. not so much on the DS

  • @backslash225 He looks like a baby in the N64 version

  • "So long gay bowser" on the n64 is better than "Bye Bye" on the DS.

  • only reason i would prefer DS over the original is because you can play as luigi

  • so long gay bowser

  • rofl at bowser difference

  • thing is

the ds bowser looks less scary....

  • Oh gawd the DS version looks dreadful D:

  • So long GAY Bowser

  • if only they could remix mario 64 onto wii that would be so awesome. and they keep ALL sounds from m64 and jsut remade the graphics. that would be cool

  • N64 version is better 'nuff said

  • I personally think that SM64 is better.

  • The thing that is holding the ds back is the resolution .

  • DS: Better Graphics

    N64: Better Controls

  • @BboyStudios97 The ds is more pixelated. What video were you watching?

  • @nubcaekification Um. What video were YOU watching? You can see that the DS has better detail. Look at Peach and the castle at the begining! And, if you've played both versions you would know the N64 has MUCH better gameplay and controls.

  • @BboyStudios97 Like at 0:32 where Peach's letter to Mario, is grainy as shit with a highly pixelated font? I guess you must be talking about the extra blue color on Peachs' eyes. The graphical clarity is poorer. The artwork has been redone. I have played the 64 version. I said the DS was more pixelated? And it is. How hard is that to understand?

  • @nubcaekification Uh. I agreed with you! It IS more pixelated and can't handle the bits! How hard is THAT to understand?!

  • @BboyStudios97 I like the way N64 looks though

  • @minecraftboy2000 Yeah. I know. The N64 version looks really nice. It's just it looks like the DS version has more details. Though I do think, the N64 version can handle the pixels and bits much better though. I have both versions and, I think the N64 has FAR better controls than the DS one. Although the DS has more features, I had more fun with the N64 version. Very nostalgic. :)

  • @BboyStudios97 la n64 tiene mejores graficos la del ds se ve borroso

  • @BboyStudios97

Actually if you play DS on the 3DS the controls are awesome.

  • @mariodude8989211 Yeah. I know. But, most people haven't. It was a good idea using the controls for the 3DS. :)

  • @BboyStudios97 well, i think the n64 had better detailed Graphics, look at bowser, piranha plants, it has more details.

  • @Kozoguy Mm.... I did. It just depends I guess.

  • @BboyStudios97 Not really, DS has worse anti aliasing due to the hardware not being as powerfull as the N64 native GPU. DS may have more vibrant textures but lack in detail and dynamic range. N64 is original and best :D

  • @Mcghi3 I love the N64 version but, it all depends. They both have good graphics.

  • I have the ds version.Very gg.

  • I have the ds version.Very gg.

  • I only played Mario 64 DS.

    Very good game.

  • the textures in the n64 one are higher resolution while the models in the ds one are better

  • bowser looks hilarious in n64

  • I like more mario 64
