Dude how old are you 5 you are being an idiot i like and yet this pisses me off if you like industrial metal thats ok but everyone is entitled to an opinion you probably hate bands that i like i wouldnt post a fucking stupid were have no good points
you are 15 years old! I have been metal for 20 fucking years we make fun of you floppy haired stupid asses who have no clue about "metal" you make up what ever rule that fits what you think is against the mainstream, shut the fuck up and love music and quit being a shallow minded lil fuck its music and enjoy it!
Agruing metal is like agruing religion and politics, it gets you nowhere...except banging your head against the wall trying to prove your point, but at least your headbanging!!! ;)
I really hate your hair style but you make a good point. If I hate any fan base more than any others it would have to be Hardcore fags or Black Metal purist/elitists.
metal elitists suck because they look down on lets say disturbed fans and think themselves as high and mighty because they listen to "pure" metal...which is stupid...i think nu metal fans should listen to some maiden or 80s metallica etc but i dont think of em as lesser than me...i only look down on lady gaga and beiber fans because they r pathetic
deathcore is not metal because its an extreme subgenre of hardcore punk...punk is not metal...metal elitists suck...but i do understand why people cant accept some nu metal bands as metal...example linkin park, limp bizkit...how metal is turntables and rap verses...disturbed is/was nu metal too but they dont have turntables or rap verses...plus they got me into metal...still they suck...
In my honest opinion, the main reason why most metal elitists hate The Black Album, was because it made money. Had The Black Album sold only around 2-4 million copies, "metalheads" would be lauding it as a very good metal album
At the same time, I can see where you're coming from when you say you like it when bands that are underground, that you like make it. But, there are plenty of underground bands that are still around today, that have been around for years.
I agree with everything you said. But unfortunately, extreme metal doesn't really appeal to most of the mainstream fans. Maybe that plays a factor in the 'Metal elitist' fear of mainstream, it's not so much that they're favorite bands may gain notoriety, but that in the process the bands may change their sound. perfect examples of that are bands like metallica, slipknot, & disturbed. Just to name a few.
ive just cruised through a few of these type of vids i dont think people should be so focused on "what" metal is i get that there are sub genres etc etc etc but surely metal above all is an attitude and a non conformist point of view however it is put accross and i mean really when we all step back and look at eachother how different are we? uhm at least we are not wearing burberry right.....
I'm more of a progressive guy myself under which Veil of Maya falls. Along with After the Burial, Periphery, Protest the Hero, Dillinger Escape Plan, Meshuggah, Born of Osiris, Animals as Leaders, and Between the Buried and Me. The bands I don't like are the "emo-core" bands ie bmth, tdwp, etf, and others in that area. Other than that I'm cool with most stuff. I may not like it myself, but I'm not going to knock it down.
Death metal, gore, and over the top face painting satanic shit is retarded, bunch or posers and mentally ill dumb asses, i despise the mainstream ones even more because i can't believe there are so many retards out there are listening to that screed.
Black metal on the other hand is defiantly a legitimate form of music, at least most of it until the recent influx of shit black metal bands.
couldnt really understand what your final standing on the whole sub genre topic was in the end, so doyou like deathcore? just curious. i mean personally you look like more of a metal core guy
I agree, but industrial metal is not "synthesizer metal". I love metal, but industrial is much more abstract than metal. If anything, true industrial metal is saving metal. Industrial is the farthest you can get from the mainstream, besides straight up noise. Industrial is noisy, harsh, disturbing, and hard to swallow for people not used to that sort of music. You should check out some Skinny Puppy and I, Parasite for Industrial. I wouldn't call deathstars industrial at all.
What is truly killing metal is the fact that metal elitists fear the mainstream. You can't fear the mainstream, you have to become it. Underground has become a thing of the past. The only bands that are still underground are either just getting started, or are awful in every way. Any band with a social network profile (which most bands nowadays have) automatically kills its status as "Undeground". The age of technology has done away with that.
@iAMVyt So true! However, not everything can be mainstream at once. If everything's popular, than what is?
I'm sure there is a real definiton of "mainstream" but I don't consider bands like "Shadows Fall" all that mainstream, Sure, a couple of songs by them may hit the radio or end up on Guitar Hero 2, but untill it gets post We Are Not Alone Breaking Benjamin, or Vol. 3 Slipknot popular, I don;t consider it mainstream.
@toadtheterrible What rock bands do you mean? Most rock on the radio is either copying nickelback's sound or is emo (mall emo, not stuff like orchid) crap. Also I'll disagree about nu metal. Angsty childish lyrics, mind numbingly simple downtuned guitar chug riffs and shitty rapping don't make for good music. It makes it's parent genres of rap and metal (though it tends towards hard rock in reality) into a mockery. Again, if you know of any good nu-metal bands tell me.
@toadtheterrible Here's the thing with deathcore, being a fusion genre some bands are more on the metal side and some are more on the hardcore side. I'd consider say, Whitchapel or despised icon is more metal, and then you have something like Emmure, Dr. Acula, or killwhitneydead is more on the hardcore side with little metal influence. Also, i've never heard any elitist do a rant against industrial metal. Also, a metal purist doesn't have to just listen to death metal/black metal.

@toadtheterrible it takes to much influence from the modern hardcore punk genre which isnt really even hardcore punk and the only thing metal about is maybe the drum and vocals but it just isnt metal not saying its all bad even though i hate most of it its just not metal and saying its metal is just saying anything wih harsh vocals and distorted guitar is metal
Not exactly sure here but I think metalcore/deathcore relates more to punk than metal. The composition style is definitely not related to metal, but it does use a lot of metal elements. So what you really have there is punk painted metal. Still punk.
lol he doesnt even have an answer. silly metal elitists cant even back up their arguments they just defend whatever music which is their favorite and nothing else
@toadtheterrible Core is short for Hardcore, which isn't considered "real metal"
That's just the way it is. Metalcore is heavy metal/hardcore and as long as it leans more to the metal than the core, it's "real metal"
Deathcore is "Death" which is metal, and "Hardcore"
If it leans closer to death, it's considered "real metal"
The reason why some people hat it anyway is the simplicity of most of it. "chuga chuga chuga chuga" isn't enough in comparison to... say... "Jotun" by IF
@fermisk In general, black metal has a lot more going on then Nickelback. That's what I was getting at. I wasn't saying that all black metal bands are complex.
mate - your're so right - I mean I don't listen to mainstream pop and I can't stand certain artists but I don't make videos/channels or go on the artists to bas musicians I hate. It's just really sad and attention seeking. I mean what makes them think their opinion is right (its only music) or that it will change anything? And in terms of metal, apart from possibly deathcore or post hardcore, its ALL the same thing - nobody has to like a certain genre in order to fit in.

@MiiVersusReeseman888 The guy who likes Linkin Park (and thinks they're metal) is calling someone else a noob?
Yes, I like Disturbed. They're a good hard rock band. And Linkin Park is almost as bad as Nickelback; their music sucks.

@2Koranteng Eh... ranting about bands is alright, because you can study a single band enough to make a conclusion on whether they're good or not.
However, ranting about genres is what this video is about, and I'm glad you agree with me.
