Ahhh you are really underpowering those motor's...I run ONE at 19.2 volt with heat sinks all day on my daughter's Emaxx.. I put wheel extenstions on all of them we and have a blast...
nice vid mate, but like you said the batteries are just poor. my stock emaxx 3905 is quicker and will pull wheelies, im running vapextech 4500nimhs 4600 mah. i have the kernshaws on order. look forward to you posting again with better batteries.
Nice Informative Vid. Just got an e-maxx a few weeks ago and was thinking about upgrading to these motors. I have cheap 3000mah batts. for the maxx, so this info is good to know. I actually was debating the e-maxx and 16th E-revo, but ended up going with the e-maxx because I already have an on-road car. Also, noticed you got that revo too and was wondering if its worth it, and if you've tried its brushless system in water yet? Might have to skip the motors and grab the revo. These are addicting
Yeah sadly the Kershaw Design motors draw so much power that cheap batteries can't supply. So unless you invest $100 into some batteries they are not worth it at all. The 1/16 is incredible i am in love with it. I have driven it in water and rain and it runs perfectly. This on the contrary is definitely worth it!
Thanks for the info, I cant wait to grab a 16th Revo. Check out my rusty VXL and e-maxx if you get a chance, Ive done a lot of body work and led kits. Thanks again
The manuel suggests that to break them in you run them in water at low power for an hour. And yeah I know mine used to go faster also, i think it has something to do with the batteries getting old.
The stock emaxx HV (high voltage) package goes twice as fast as that off road

how long do these motors last you thanks
richhi95 2 years ago
If you break them in right and oil them every once in a while they will last a lot longer than stock.

Did you solder the motors, or did you have Kershaw do them???
Owebaby11 2 years ago
I got them pre-soldered. Much easier!

Oh ... I just took a second look at your truck.
What's with the thin motor wires.?
Put some 12AWG wire on those motors otherwise you are constricting the current flow to them.
elbutchos 2 years ago
Yeah idk..i ordered them pre-wired and that's what they put on them. =(

why did u have the motors in water?
and why diden't it go fats my stock i emaxx go faster and your doesen't do wheelie

Get 2S lipo's and run the truck with 1 motor only.
1 700 HO puts 25% more power out than the twin titans. Losing one motor and getting lipo's will lighten your truck a lot and bump up the runtimes.

yeah i might try that set-up if im still not happy with the performance of the new batteries i ordered. thanks
