  • he does the movements right but i think the moments he uses ibuki are to done fast

  • I have to learn this and pinan sono go in less than 2 weeks for my exam!!

  • so different from goju ryu!

  • In this kata you can clearly see the influence of goju ryu style that sosai oyama absorbed and adapted to his kyokushin system. I was a practicioneer of goju ryu and I can say that is almost identical with the goju ryu form "gekisai shodan" (1st intermediate form). No wonder why kyokushin ryu is so powerful, sosai Oyama was a genius combining all the arts he previously studied (shotokan, goju ryu, boxing, moai thai ...) he took the best of them and create this powerful style. OSU!! from Chile.

  • @sebaXXXteacher i agree :) .

  • We perform this kata in Goju Ryu but with less emphasis on the perception of power but more on speed (but still powerful) and efficiency of movement. Its great to see how other styles perform the same kata with their own variation. Very good. thanks for the vid.

  • "In the construction of houses, choice of woods is made. Straight un-knotted timber of good appearance is used for the revealed pillars, straight timber with small defects is used for the inner pillars. Timbers of the finest appearance, even if a little weak, is used for the thresholds, lintels, doors, and sliding doors, and so on. Good strong timber, though it be gnarled and knotted, can always be used discreetly in construction." -Musashi Miyamoto

This kata may be rough, but it's powerful.

  • im in kyokushin and I just tested for my green belt on thursday, and yes, I had to do this kata

  • the level that i am now i have to learn this kata! even though this a brown belt/black belt kata. we have done this kata a few times in class already.

  • thats shit technique, very shit

  • @twokon i invite you to look for one kyokushin fighter and spar with him ... see how it goes. OSU!

  • @twokon Agree...

  • lool

  • No, i disagree, whenever you change direction, like a 180 degree turn you ar supposed to look over your shoulder before you perform mawa-te.

So the execution her isnt perfect but still better than most vids, aye.

    Osu!

  • Perfekt und hilfreich. Danke <3

  • pues es igualita a una kata del goju ryu...

  • @robertvoice

wrong in my eyes. Kung Fu is passed down from generation to generation without hardly any changes so thats more like windows.

KYOKUSHIN however is a combination and customization of styles to eventually be the strongest karate, and it's still being developed just like Linux :)

  • @FaridYM Agree. There are a lot of bad masters teaching shit arround the world. South Kung Fu styles are the most traditional effective within popular Kung Fu. And complemented with Qi Gong word can be really invincible.

Kyokushin is a strong form of martial arts. Cheers.

  • @robertvoice

agree, many years ago I've done wushu with emphasis on southern styles like hung gar and choy li fut, eventhough i did modern wushu, in the forms that I practiced I saw more effective moves then the crappy northern styles.

I think the only effective northern style is bajiquan/8 extreme fist and still love to see these forms and applications.

  • @FaridYM Yeah! It's sad to see how good martial arts get deteriotated by selfproclammed masters. A lot of people that lear 1 year of martial arts and open a mcdojo :( ... And when people sees them fail start thinking that style is crap, and NO: This guy is not a master, is an egocentric conceited full of arrogance, lacking honor and training, and overall lack his own master approval.

  • ref my comments above check out Sanchiem 2 men drill and I know how to spell Kata. I miss keyed.

    Osu

  • To answere shotojojo2005 Sanchin teaches to keep square on to your opponent/attacker in this way you can bring all your "tools of the trade" to bear. It is not meant to be a fighting stance as such and performed correctly is a method of dynamic tension and will indeed increase leg strength. I wish I had more space and may just down load how to train this stance (and the karta that goes with it) I suggest you look up white crane/sanchiem 2 man set see what yu can find

  • Excellent kata! i love watching the videos of these guys doing kata because its very correct and performed properly unlike those other stupid amature videos!

Alot of students have black belts when they shouldnt because they perform the basics sloppy! and the basics is the foundation..bad basics=bad technique!

  • aff´s

  • kyo ku shin is the best

  • Kyokoshin Kata's seem so rough but strong. No grace but sure power, you can see it in the movements. Unlike the other styles of Karate kyokoshin definitely is a very strong art.

  • i agrea that it could be finetuned and made more gracefull but the point of Gekisai dai is power. wach a few more kata. they are not all like this.

  • Yeah I wouldn't say that Kyokoshin has no grace. But in my experience, Kyokoshin is not known for too much grace either. But watching the full contact version of our sister style, is amazing. I am an ippon fighter, I would hate to fight a Kyokoshin guy. But don't me wrong I wouldn't mind trying it either, but I would ask them to go easy...lol.

  • ur a pussy , id whoop ur ass.

  • So is Kyokushin itself. Its full contact/knock down fighting. Unlike Goju Ryu or so.

  • I don't understand what you are trying to imply, please explain.

  • That's why the other styles named us, "The Strongest Karate." Kyokushin is based on the samurai philosphy of the 1 stike kill. We call it the 2 hit fight; I hit you, you hit the ground. It's not meant to be pretty; it's meant to end the fight and get you out of danger as fast as possible. Hurt them bad enough, fast enough and they lose the will (or ability) to keep attacking you. BTW, Mas Oyama's 1st dojo had a 90% dropout rate due to injuries.

  • What would be the point of doing Sanchin-dachi so wide?!

  • The idea is for training purposes only. They believe(all karate people) that it will develop legs and make a stronger stance. So when you fight at normal you can move twice as fast and stronger on a regular fighting stance. Theoretically anyway. It's argumentative of course.

  • Where could get these katas on tape or dvd to own?

  • go to ebay and search'kyokushin karate'

    they have it.

  • you can simply download realplayer onto your pc and download the video directly from youtube onto your pc as a flash media file!

  • nice karate kata
