Are these exercises good just for hockey or also for figure skating? I mean... i'm a beginner, i'm learning the basic skills of skating...can i practice this without the stick or is it necessary for the balance... does the position change without the stick? Thank you!
@zazzolina These are good for all skaters, hockey as well as figure. No, the stick isn't necessary for balance. Just remember to keep the 3 elements for your balance in line with each other: Nose directly over the Knee directly over the Toe of the weighted skate.
I wish I could do this.. no real chance to practice it. Cant do it during public skating, too many kids everywhere. Certainly won't ever have empty ice like this..
@MrNjdevilsfan30 no bloopers as far as falling on his ass :-) but some bloopers with shots, since he will try to aim at the post for a ding and miss it.
Great videos guys! I improved a lot by watching a couple of topics then going out and practicing during free skate times. Your videos are some of the most descriptive I've found here. Keep them coming!!!
yes, we will try to fix it. We figured that hockey training is important and goes hand in hand with equipment reviews. So we decided to do a set of training videos and see what kind off feedback we gonna get. Based on feedback we will try to improve video and sound quality.

my ouside edge always slides like im stoping, is it becuase im not digging my skate hard enough into the ice?
labtec1233 2 years ago
I feel like I would just lose an edge trying this and spill really hard. I have terrible outside edge control, and I don't know how to fix that.

Great vid, but having a mic attached to the guy instead of just the audio from the camera would really help, especially when he is skating.
