One of the things I find fascinating about this open is how the CBS Radio News top-of-the-hour sounder is incorporated into this open. They add a second note as a bridge to the main theme, though.

Well, Jim Hill at the time was over at KABC for a few years before returning to KCBS after Olbermann left for ESPN.

Wow the ex-husband and ex-wife were the anchors on this newscast. 17 years later...Olberman is the anchor for the news and Lampley doing sports.

Of course dissing Suzy Kolber from ESPN is never a good idea Mr. Goggles.

Most of the Current CBS2 staff are ex ABC7 Anchors

Imagine that. CBS signing the checks of Harold Green, Ann Martin, Laura Diaz, Mark Coogan, and Johnny Mountain, all KABC alums. The late Jerry Dunphy, and even David Jackson were on Ch. 7 at one point.

But the L.A. market is like that. Most personalities here have been on at least two SoCal stations.
