wtf, they can't even play their instruments well imo. taqwacores are wrong on so many levels, if you wanna be a punk, go be a punk. just don't convince other the haram is halal or shit like that.
lovely sound...i like taqwacore..but religion and stenchcore...uh...it´s a lil bit strange because i only know crust bands with an "anti-religious" aspect..but i like the way taqwacore fights against the klischees of the islam! (and thats only one point)
fraud1980 might not like the song, but I think this song is the best mosh pit song ever... or in my case, last night I was busting through huge snow drifts with an 18 wheeler and cranking up some Al Thawra... you guys rock, first punk rock album I've ever bought on iTunes, sobhan Allah!
wow what utter idiotic crap.. I am both a muslim and a guitar teacher.. This is absolute rubbish.. 3 power chords..and played absolutely horribly.. wow.. its so bad its fascinating....
@fraud1980 sometimes, simplicity is an aesthetic decision. also, you obviously must not know much about math or guitar, because it's more than "3 power chords." including an augmented second interval (do you even know what this is?) in maqam hijaz (partially). it is not harmonic, but based around a tonic. in conclusion, go fuck yourself.
actually, true maqam hijaz is microtonal. the difference from our version is about 2/9th of step smaller than the 1 1/2 step interval we used in that augmented second that we used.
@althawrapunk Yeah if you know about intervals, you shouldve tuned your guitar properly.. know what a intonation is? go fuck your bassist cuz yours and his guitars are in two different tunings.. not that it matters to you beardfuck...
also nice to see you defending your music from a listener.. doesnt a listener's opinion matter more than yours at the end of the day? you are truly sad.. hijaz or not, by the way fuck your math reference, you are a poser and tonic or not, this is crap. thanks..
@fraud1980 i can deal with people not liking music, that's why genre exists. i can also deal with idiots. unfortunately, sometimes, idiots can also be self-righteous--which is something that i don't cope as well with. anyway, i get it. you're trolling, which is fine. i mean, "successful troll is successful." right?
self-righteous guys like to pretend they're experts at something. but what kind of bullshit self-accreditation is "i am a guitar teacher" anyway? so what? our drummer was a music teacher for some years at a community theater project here in chicago. even i taught lessons before...
everything is dropped down (i.e. not in standard tuning). and even if it were out of tune, what would it matter? dissonance and xenharmonics are musical devices to be exploited in the creation of music. guess what? the world is bigger than c, d, and g major chords. but, i bet you're one of those guys who listen to indian ragas and arabic maqamat and go on about how they're "out of tune."
so, you're basically just talking shit because you don't understand something. brilliant.
@fraud1980 dude.. who gives a fuck about what the listeners say.. if you wanna play music, its your own satisfaction that matters the most. Listeners opinion matters the most? What kind of corporate crap is that? You got involve with the wrong genre dude.. Go and study what punk is all about, dumbass.
I consider myself to be a practicing Muslim. When I first accepted Islam I was a Wahabi and thought being a Muslim meant I had to become an Arab-Wannabe Scholar foot kisser. By after I began searching for my own Islam, the way I wanted to follow it (eventually Shia Islam), a Shaykh told me don't think that being Muslim means you have to abandon who you are.
I am a Muslim, I am a punk, I am a human being! Respect my akhs and ukhs
@AbdullahAliZulfiqar The same goes for me, brother, although instead of Shi'a Islam I veered toward Sufism. I still revere the 12 Imams, however. It's amazing what one will find when they do their own research, and find their own way. Islam is Huge, it's a lot bigger than what some people (both Muslims and non-Muslims) want everyone to think.
@Goonboi239 "We Punks" *claps hands* thank you: the voice of Punk. Yup! You just about round up everything about Punk that ever existed dude. You define Punk. Bet you've seen all the documentaries? You ever see that one Taqwacore?
@soldatalmadih Music being haram is one of those points open to contention. Differing hadith accounts vary. I think the movie The Taqwacores definitely answers some questions, and honestly puts things into perspective.
@OmarKhattaab do you see the word, "islam" mentioned anywhere in the video, description, title or anywhere else? i swear, you salafi/wahhabi/deobandi motherfuckers are dumber than you look in your pants rolled up above your ankles.
@althawrapunk good music, but your comment is quite ignorant when you bundle salafis and wahhabis into the same group. Wahhabis are an extreme derivation of the salafi sect. I just hope you give a shit enough to realize what I hope to be a slip of the tongue.
I see this comment every time I watch this vid. which is often and you know what? It makes me rofl everytime.^_^ Thanks for the awesomeness althawrapunk.Up the taqx!^_^
