hey i am now learning like a few months i know i am far from ready to learn this but i still question when i try i have 2 problems when i do normal screams it doesnt hurt and when i do my adamsapple up it hurts a little bit and it alsodoesnt sound very high . what should i do ? what technique are you using ?i can only do high inhale but it sucks because it doesnt sound like that of gorgoroth .

@103580marnix If it hurts to do, then your throat isn't meant to do it, so try a different technique for the higher sound. The high sound is done partly with the throat *slightly* tightening (too much can lead to permanent damage) and partly by using the resonance inside my mouth to give it a high "sound." Inhaling requires a lot of closing up the throat and can be quite destructive if used to excess. Gaahl inhaled maybe 3 time on their DVD, for example.

You can play any song you want live, the technicalities come when you want to record it and sell it as part of an album. As for Emperor, I couldn't get into them. I've tried, but Isahn's vocals bug me. And yet I listen to groups like Cradle of Filth. Haha! I love Windir and Dissection, those are the only other two Norwegian groups that I can think of right now that I like.
