  • one of a kind beautiful persona/voice that mus have touch many

  • I had the privilege of playing Roy Shirley's last show with my band The Expanders at The Sierra Nevada World Music Festival. He was such a great vibe and a great guy! I feel honored to have been a part of that. Much Respect Mr. Shirley! LOVEFUL HEIGHTS

  • Great, great stuff! Does anyone know if Shirley's performance was recorded at Four Aces in Hackney?

  • I believe it was recorded in Phebes at 240 Amhurst Road.

The cafe is the R&JJ West Indian Restaurant at Sandringham Road, Dalston. Roy may have had something to do with this, as his Heart Breaking Jepsey came out on the R&JJ record label.

The record shop was his own Imperial records.
