  • THATS A BASS TROMBONE!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(

  • BLAT BLAT BLAT, BLA-BLAT, BLAT! BLAT! - That was my first impression from your playing. You did hit the correct notes and your tone was decent, but articulation could definitely use improving.

  • If I had a dollar for pixel in this video...

    I would have 50 cents

  • That was so cool

  • lol i play trombone too!

  • 2 computer montors right next to each other? or screens

  • Nice. Always wanted to play this song. =) thanks a lot for the sheet music! =D

  • can i have the sheetmusic

    if you have it

  • Dude. I have been playing for about 21/2 decades pro-lke. Do NOT let these little haters get to you. You acually (I think ) took the time and effort to learn this tune, and it does NOT matter if you transcribed/transposed this. You learned it Yo played it. Not bad, and you only had one obvious mistake during. Nice. I enjoyed.

  • can u do a video response to show me how to play it?

  • props

  • This definitely isn't 360p quality even though youtube says it is.

  • thanks for the sheet music bro! this is great!

  • can anyone like give me the notes to the song? I mean ive looked everywhere

  • hes using a base bone. Didnt hear him hit a single note over double f.

heres the standard tenor version and its printable the triple bflat is brutal.I play d and it sounds fine

    img341(dot)imageshack(dot)us/img341/2559/smbvw4(dot)png

  • Dude i like soo need the notes can u give it to me my username is Zkull925

  • good playing! but shitty video quality!

  • yo, i can do what u do ^^

  • Actually if you lean back it stretches your lungs and lets you create a better airflow.

  • Stretches and compresses. With your lungs, you are looking for overall mass. Most young players make the mistake of leaning back while they play, without knowing it, because their body is not used to the trombone and they have poor natural posture. When you play standing up, you may FEEL better because of your windpipe is more easily felt straight, but most players are not helping themselves as much as they could. When standing, you really want to make sure you are standing STRAIGHT up.

  • transposing the music shouldnt be that hard. its just a half step up.

  • nice iv ben trying to do that but yours is much more awsome.... : (

  • Cool. That song has some slurs in it.

  • I just played along. lol

  • Work on separating the last couple notes and try not to blast so much.

  • im in band and u need to not blast and tigten up your lips and straighten your posture

  • You sound like my Band Conducter.

What you need to do is Lighten up a Bit, not a Forte, but a Andante.

  • a tip: do not lean back when you play.

  • not bad at all. I wish that i still had my bass trombone. I was renting it from school. But at least I still got my other one

  • Amazing dude i've been working on doing it all by ear but so far i'm not very far. rock on

  • i just buzz on my mouth piece and find the tone than try to convert it

  • u just need to work on dynamics and not blast certain notes even if theyre supposed to be loud

    good though

  • Some of that is due to the sound quality of the camera. You can barely accent a note and it will make a blasting sound.

  • When you end your notes you ended them with your tongue try ending them just by will power

  • thats like me im in my pajamas and im playng on my trumpet lol hes pretty good work on the tone

  • heyy bro does that sheet music also work wit baritonee? message me back please.

    thanks

  • OMG awesome

  • thanks for sheet music :)

  • can u play this?

  • he probably cant even play the trombone at all...

  • u pick up a trombone and play a song u transposed from a piano part, film it and put it on u tube and we'll see how well U do

  • Im pretty sure he doesn't even know what a trombone is, even after watching this. xD

  • His username is "gotbone10" which either refers to the trombone or something which I'd actually rather not say.

  • Were did you get this music, bro? Did you just read the piano part?

  • This is awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • u need 2 send me the notes

  • i just started playing trombone and i just wanted to know if having a mouth piece thats too small would change the way notes sound or how fast you van play them

  • if it is for another instrument it would not fit in the trombone and even if it did the notes would be way higher, if it is made for the trombone though it would probobly work, although i do not know of any other sized mouthpeices for trombone

  • i was talkin about is youhav a rombone mouthpeice thats too small for your lips not the trombone it self

  • well it doesn't change the sound much and wont effect how fast your able to play just takes some getting used to

  • i dont think it is possible for your lips to be to big for a mouthpiece, you will just have to make a smaller 'pucker' with your lips

  • thanx just wanted to make sure

  • I'm a trombone performance major in college and I would suggest learning on a bigger mouthpiece first. It is easier to get a nice rich, full sound on a bigger mouthpiece than a smaller one. This will make playing high a little harder for a while, but it will be easier to get a good sound later when you want to switch to a smaller mouthpiece. Message me if you have any other questions or want more details.

  • lmafo i can do this but i need the notes

  • my trombone teacher always plays this

  • Not bad at all

  • this took skill

  • is this the key of Eb

  • yup

  • B-flat

  • I like this vid.

But as for the transposing issue. I have 9 years experience on the trombone and any real trombone player would be able to read both bass and treble clef and would realize that you wouldn't need to do any transposing because trombones can play both clefs (just like the baritone) So no transposing would be needed at all.

  • Ahh, but the ability to play in any clef is not limited to the instrument. Any instrument can play in any clef. It's all up to the performer to be able to read the clef.

But as for my version in the video, I did transpose. The piano part that I link to is written in C, and I am playing it in B-flat.

So the transposition is necessary to play it as I am in the video.

  • Kinda blating in parts but awesome

  • lol mate that isn't transposing!! Haha if you thought treble clef to bass clef was transposing! wtf

  • C to B-flat isn't transposing? Excellent insight.

I'd love to know what exactly you think transposing is. I didn't simply lower it an octave and swap clefs.

  • What are the notes?

    I play the trombone

  • nice did u use a sheet or did u figure out the notes?i would like to try this with my tromebone

  • i love my trombone... i am so goin to go practice now... after finding mariobros theme song

  • thats true

  • I thought the Trombone was an in C just like the piano... So you didn't have to transpose anything

  • He probably means from melody in treble to the bass cleft.

  • yeah it reads in C but is a Bb flat instrument like the trumpet.

  • What I see is some fella taking piano sheet music and transposing it into a key easier to play on trombone. That's fine for playing Super Mario on trombone, but how does that give a man inner toughness? I just don't see it.

Anyway, deeper into the song, old Slick can't hide the imperfections in his playing...contradicting the people here who equate transposing songs with mental fortitude. Is it any wonder people keep asking old Slick here for the sheet music?

  • actually i remember posting a link to sheet music and i guess he took it to shut people up

  • whats the notes for trombone

  • Even Mario would grab his trombone and slam it over his head.

  • fuck you bitcheznhos. This is nice. Keep it up slick

  • now go outside and talk to a girl 4 the first time

  • Nice!

Can I get the music for that!

    Message me for my email.

  • where did u get the music

  • Is that a bass or a tennor i coulden see and u rocked i have three years ona tennor and one month on a bass but yha

  • It's a bass I believe, or possibly just a modified tenor with an F attachment, I can't tell. I have 4 years on tenor and 2 on bass, and I must say, bass is way more fun to play.

  • Ah dunno. Looks like a tenor to me. hard to tell indeed.

  • Ninetailedkyuubi102, you are an idiot.

I DID give you the music, all you have to do is learn how to read a video description.

And yes I know it's for piano, but guess what? There's something called transposition that is an invaluable skill to any semi-serious musician. You can, oh let's say, learn the Mario theme from a piano part by TRANSPOSING. Take your four years of experience and shove it. I've got seven as of right now.

  • this song sounds better on bassoon,

but you rocked it bro :]

  • The highest note I can play on my trombone is a double D, maybe a double E Flat

  • it is completely pointless to post a comment like this. comments are here so that you can discuss the video posted, not your f**king playing ability-go frotch

  • They were discussing high range below. Calm down and get some anger management classes.

  • yea same....i can barely squeake those ones out..ive gotten like a double high f once or twice though

  • i liked the sound. me and you have the same flaw of cracking notes. people need to realize that mikes are not perfect.

  • hey, im first chair tbone at my school, and that was pretty awesome.

    youve got great range...

whats the highest note you hit?

  • what the heck was that. it sucked

  • awesome! i suck at the trombone. but you're so good.

  • arg!! give me the music!!

  • Go away and develop your ear.

    ...or just learn to read.

  • and by read I mean the description.

  • whoa... i friggen worship you. i like suck incredibly on the trombone and i'm constantly told by the marching band i'm in lol. i've gotten a whole lol better but i can't even imagine playing like that. good job =D

  • sounds good, it's easy enough to transpose when you hear a trombone playing it... idk why all of these people are bitching and moaning.

  • hey iv been playing trombone for 2 years(ya im a noob)can u message me the notes like F,E,D,C,B and the notes time like half note or hole plezz need them so my music teacher let me go to reginals

  • nope

  • wtf dude that would take like a whole page to post and to much time wasteing

  • cool!!

    I'm trying to learn it!

  • my my friend can play vegie tales on the tuba

  • im working on this song but im still practicing

  • Fun the end ! ^^

  • cool that u found out how to play that song but work on the sound homez

  • you need more practice. please take care about the sound, is the most important thing a trombonist need, also take care about the cleanliness in the attacks.

  • I think some of that was the camera's quality

  • ROSS KEENUM!!! I WANNA MAKE BABIES WITH YOU!!! And i think the first time we ever hung out you played that at the football game...oh what fond memories.

  • You are weird...

  • ummm.... ok. Who cares?

  • major props

  • sweet.......

  • good but weak ending

  • i dont know what to do actually

  • hey your awesome but i got a quick question iv'e played trumpet for three years but am about to go to a new school with a little amount of trombone players and am thinking about switching to trombone but cant make up my mind what should i do

  • a similar thing happened to but it was from trombone to tuba. firstly what grade are you in? because in my opinion in high school only the trombonist with a full resonant sound are the useful ones. at my school there are just not enough trombones with such a sound. i doubt in your first year you'll sound like this video.

  • i am in 8th grade and have had a little experience on trombone so i know alot of the fingerings and ive got the ombrechure kinda down and know the notes on the staff

  • yeah you would also have to learn bass clef but tremble and bass are not that different. 8th grade is a good time to start. i would say if you really want to learn and perhaps continue trombone throughout high school. otherwise i would say no.

  • thanks for the advice ill stick with trumpet

  • good stuff!!! good luck with your trumpet playing and stick to it through high school! its worth it!

  • that's a trombone retard

  • I was talking to someone else. it shows up as a comment to the video but it was a response to someone talking about trumpet. look at the next page... I have played trombone for 5 years now, i think i know what it is.

  • ah my bad homie i see, haha i've been playing t-bone for 5 years too

  • Who cares?

  • i find trumpet-trombone is fail trombone-trumpet is acceptible

  • im in elemetary school and i rock at it

    10 yrs old

    just joind band

  • ... lol nice ancient monitors. lol

  • For everyone who wants sheet music to this, hear is what you do. Type Super mario main theme midi in aol search engine. You will get a bunch of sites with midi files. Save the midi file you want. Then search Finale Allegro music demo download in aol search. It is free and virus free. After you download finale allegro demo on your computer, open it and open the midi toolbar and open a the midi file saved. Wa La you have super mario bros sheet music. Just convert treble clef to bass clef.

  • U dont suck!

  • haha i justed signed up agian for band tonight, i have been playing trombone for a year and a half, im so gunna fund that sheep music!!

  • I could do that...maybe...

  • all ya needa do is copy his slide positions and right the notes down on a piece a paper lol

  • 0.0

I started playing the trombone last week, and I already suck at it.

Hopefully I can be as good as you someday, but right now I suck very very badly. XP

  • i would say he has played for 3 to 4 years at least. good job. I am going to start to learn how to play the trombone after playing the trumpet for 4 long years. It should be fun lol

  • kewl lol.

  • lmao nice! is the music for it available?

  • Us trombonists are a dying breed <3

i have to say, stupid treble.

  • i agree

  • "dont ask for the music sheet, IF YOU ASK, YOU WILL BE CUT DOWN!!"

    fuck u man!

    big fucking deal!

  • Thats Really Good :)

  • LOL no whats sad i cant look at you slide postions and and listen to what note it is

  • Class "A" example of a YouTube idiot.

You apparently went to high school with me. It shows, as your grammar is atrocious.

  • I didn't know people used the word "atrocious"

    anymore

  • its good, although it does sound a bit out of tune. adjust the tuning thing at the top.

  • Rawrgh, I found the sheet music alright, very easily. Just can't transpose the main part to base clef. Grrr... But you did pretty good. Wonder how it sounds now that your better.

  • It's very easy, just learn treble clef. Or alternatively, play it by ear. Bass trombone players should know tenor clef, right? Treble clef is the same, but you add two sharps (or take two flats if that is the case.) Any bass trombone player grade 5+ needs to know tenor clef for exams, so hop to it.

  • (btw that was to MontyDMA)

  • The highest note is a Bb on the 4th ledger line above the bass clef staff. It is a bit tricky and does require a bit of flexibility to play. Please check out my video. I play this on trombone too :).

  • Is that hard to play? I just started trombone 2 years ago. Whats the highest note? And any tips for a beginner?

  • is that a bass?

  • A bass is a fish.

Does it look like a fish?

And no it's not a bass trombone. My tone is WAY too bright to be a bass 'bone.

  • He was only askin! no need 2 be touch

  • Please learn to spell.

  • slick don't be an ass

  • good job...it seems late night...now go to bed!

    lol

    but yea excellent tone

  • heres an idea: just watch his slide positions and write down all the notes

  • Wow u r good i am gonna start playin trombone in august soo i want to play just like u

  • You sound great, and I guess it is coming from me being a 9th grade trombonist.

  • I do the same at the trumpet

just an advice, keep training you for the musicality, it's not rather warmly

    but quite good !

  • You are fucking awesome I wouldnt give a fuck what any body else said.

  • Nice. I play Baritone (Horn). It's basically the same thing. But I never learned to do that.

  • The video is well done- angle, informal surroundings, interesting lighting, something different. The individual style is there. The slidework seems adequate, but hours of scales adds up to more muscle in the slidework. Nevertheless, interesting!

  • you are really good at that

  • I like it!!

I play bass trombone, though, so thats out of the question for me!

  • I am in seventh grade and I have been playing bass trombone for a year and although I have been only playing for a year I,m not what you call the best player but I,m not horrable and so I was going to do a video response on zoot69 family guy cause she dosnt have it for bass trombone so I,m just going to lower it an octive. So somtime this week I,m going to attemp that song on bass trombone.

  • any relevance?

    no...didn't think so

  • well you know nothing about trombone shit face

    he is trying

any trombone is the hardest instrument in a band easy

if you say french horn your obviously retarded

i have been playing for 9 years

and i play in the band at the university of cali.

so dont piss ppl play a incredibly hard instrument if you dont know anythign about it

he play the right key for almost half the piece

    so

    SHUT THE FUCK UP!

  • I have a comment for you.

Shut the hell up and stop being an arrogant dick.

    Thank you.

  • *directed at l7Johnl7*

  • get the dick out your ass faggot bitch...i want to see u play it cuntbag

  • While defending me (from whom?) you make yourself sound like an idiot. You probably are one...cuntbag.

  • It seems like you are pushing too hard in your high range. It's almost like you're shoving the mouthpiece into your face. Just relax and let the high notes sing. Let your aperture and the air do the all the work. Good job on everything else!
