  • love john paul jones! what an idol! does anyone know what bass that is? because it doesn't look like his signature manson?

  • I love Hugh Manson in the back

  • he's always under rated

  • i agree the bassist is in this case under rated

  • Maybe the fact that he is underrated is good.

If Page and Plant were less arrogant, we would be able able to see tons of new Zep

    material.

  • Jones is a guy who is in the top ten in most of the polls or lists you see for "best bassists" , and yet he is still underrated as an overall musician and composer . He is a gifted guy and I'm glad that he chooses to play rock music

  • Happy Birthday John Paul Jones!!

  • A LEGEND AMONG MEN... THE GREAT JOHN PAUL JONES

  • his playing doesn't flow (to me) on this recording, which is too bad because usually i love his stuff

  • LEMMY is the bass player of all times but John paul Jones is the best musician :)

  • pay attention in how he changes the sound of the bass just with the dynamics. From very light to very brigth and strong. Light and shadow. That's the maestro. One day i will play with this guy. God Bless HIM!

  • judging jpj on his bass ability alone is a travesty. he was way more than a bass player for led zeppelin. his bass, keyboard, mandolin, ect. was what makes him one of the best musicians of all time

  • great bass playin bassist to bassist stoner to stoner

  • jpj by far the best bass player ever he was just as important to the greatest band of all time as page plant and bonham(rip) noone comes close to jpj the only ones i even consider to be close to him would be les claypool, enwhistle, and flea but still all the above are competing for the second spot jpj fucking rocks

  • Nah, as much as I like Jonesy, Mark King from Level 42 is the best bassist I think.

  • JPJ!!!!!!!!! man, of all the bassists, he is so damn underrated. everyones like Page! Plant! Bonham! and that bassist guy...WRONG WRONG WRONG. hes the glue that keeps it together. many people, especially guitarists undermine bass players. its terrible.

and im a guitarist, and my god, and idol is Jimmy Page. nuff said.

  • @LedZeppelinisgod100 It's obvious he contributed a lot to Zep's sound, listen to some of his solo stuff.

  • @iloverush123 i HAVE all of his solo stuff man. :P

also, Them Crooked Vultures is FANTASTIC.

  • @iloverush123

yeah, bass and drums sounds like a led zeppelin jam

  • @LedZeppelinisgod100 Join my band?

  • John Paul aged better than the rest of the band, cause he smoked pot and drank, but didn't snort heroin powder like Plant and Page.

  • my idol

  • id say as its a Mansons get together its a safe bet that its a Manson bass that he has custom made by them

  • Saw Jones live a few years back and it changed me forever. I have never heard anything like it . heavy heavy dude that JPJ .

  • dont rate jpj less than 5 motherfuckers

  • What bass is he playing?

  • Dunno but that dude could tie a piece of string round his toe and still sound better than most.

  • i think its an ibanez model. dont know which one though

  • @tucksteel3

this is a manson bass,it was custom made for jpj

he played it at the 2005 led zep gig

  • He's amazing and...its got to be said, the man has aged so much better than his former bandmates. Hell, put a wig on him and he looks pretty much the same he did 40 years ago!

  • wow he likes his basses bright

  • amazing JPJ is great

  • THE GREAT JOHN PAUL JONES

  • JPJ owns so hard.

  • Too bad the audio isn't that great. It's kind of overpowering.

  • My Screen name is all you need to know

  • wow amazing jam by jones!!!
