FELT SHOULD BE KNOWN MOAR FOAR BMX! They have great bikes i ride a vault 09 and itz awsome and riderz like scotty cranmer (betah than most ridaz) THEY NEED TO BE KNOWN. THUMBS UP
tricks wise i guess bmx would win, but down hill free ride comp's like the red bull down hill mountain bike race is just as hard or harder than bmx. they go 30 miles an hour down hill and jump 30 foot clearings at the end on a couple of there trails. i do bmx myself but I've always wanted to try it. i'm sure i'll get hurt if i do though. anyway, this is a pretty cool video. i noticed people talking about 20 and 35 wound bikes, whats better for dirt ramps? i would think 35.
fuck you. Freeride mountain biking is sick and Bmx is sick too. Mountain biking is gnarlier though, you arent landing 12 foot drops on smoothe concrete surfaces. But as for tricks, BMX has MTB beat.
dude.. im not gonna say I would enjoy riding a felt or a haro or another bike like that, but look at who rides them scotty cranmer rides felt, dennis enarson rides haro..
Ya, Im not disagreeing. But you put any pro on one of those bikes and there still gonna throw HUGE! Look at Ryan Nyquist, still rides a 35 pound bike when most people out there with one onethousandth of his skills are trying to put together a 20 pound bike because they think itll make them better. Its about time and dedication to the sport, it doesnt matter what your riding as long as you ride it, and ride it a lot.
I'm gonna have to disagree with that, anyone is gonna have style on either as long as there dedicated to the sport and put the hours in to get better.
yes, but a pro rider is physically going to be able to do bigger tricks. a 20 pound bike is gonna be easier to tailwhip than a 35 pound bike. obviously, you have to give the dudes like nyquist riding 35 pound bikes props, but just think about him riding a 20 pound bike. He'd be even better.
No, if were talking physical fitness, who ever in better shape is going to be able to throw the bike around better, think about what your saying.
Also think about the fact that he chooses to ride a 35 pound bike because thats what he learned on, its not like he doesn't have the option to ride a 20 pound bike.
You will be better at riding whatever you learn on and you prefer, thats why dudes like nyquist ride what they ride. I ride a 28 pound bike and I don't mind.
yes, exactly. who ever is in better shape will be able to throw the bike around better. if he's throwing it around like crazy on a 35 pound bike, he's gonna be able to do it even better on a 20 pound bike. Let's say he's throwing a 20 pound shot put. if he's throwing a 20 pound shot put 40 feet, then he's going to throw a 12 pound shot put even further. Bigger tricks are easier for him on a 20 pound bike if he trains on a 35 pounder. see what I'm saying?
Yes, I see what your saying. But answer this then, why doesn't he just ride a 20 pound bike?
There is a reason he rides what he rides, and plus felt is more than capable of making a 20 pound bike, its not like they don't have the resources! You also have to take training into account, if you put up an inexperienced shot putter up against an olympic shot putter, both equally strong, the olympic shot putter is going to win because he has the experience! Same goes for BMX. If you put me or you up
up against a guy like Nyquist or even a guy like Cranmer, us on 20 pounders and them on 35's... we are going to lose no questions asked, even if we are in better physical shape then them. They put every hour of every day into riding, and Nyquist is a family man on top of that! Like I keep saying, its not the bike, its the rider. Just like in shot put, its not the ball its the thrower.
No I know it's the rider, not the bike. I get that. I think you're misunderstanding me. Let's say you and I are equally talented BMX riders. You train on a 35 pound bike and I train on a 20 pound bike. if you switch to a 20 pound bike, you are probably going to beat me since you train with a heavier bike. I that a 20 pound bike isnt going to make an inexpereinced rider any better, but it will make an exerpienced rider better.
or how about this? Let's say a 35 pound rider is trying to get his double tailwhips down. But he can't. He get's 1 3/4 of a double tailwhip but can never get it. Then he switches to a 20 pound bike. Naturally, he's probably going to be able to pull of f the double tailwhip on the 20 pounder. See what I'm saying?
and theres also the fact that all the parts that they provide to pros are on the market. Unless there trials for the pros to decide whether or not there going to go out to the public.
Great video and cool song. What were you goobers expecting, an Evil Knievel vid??? Yeah, I can ride a bike too, but sure as hell couldn't put this clip together. Great job Dave... I just need that 2 lb. carbon road frame they have now, ha ha, cool.
I love the people that leave the "Ha n00b! I can do that shit!" type of comments. This dude didn't make this video cause he thinks he's the only one alive that can ride a bike or do some tricks. Get over yourself and enjoy it for what it is... or don't watch :p

Type in Scotty Cranmer and tell me he is a failure on a felt bike... You can't

True but how much money do the companies spend on those custom bikes? The bikes that they sell in shops are not amazing.

thats true, but an average rider is gonna have more beastly style if they are riding a 20 pound bike vs a 35 pound bike.

Best bike for the buck, if you ask me.
If you want a great bike, and you don't want to spend a half a grand, get a Felt!

Seriously, i have a 08' chasm for 400 bucks and its pretty damn awesome......
thrillseekr43 2 years ago
Actually you couldn't be more wrong.
It's the exact opposite.
Felt bikes are superior to fit in virtually every way.
The fit shaves off a fraction of a pound at the expense of quality parts.
In most fit models the bottom actually isn't sealed.
Everyone wants to be just like Aitken (Who at the moment is a vegetable do to a serious fall w/out a helmet).
Oh and you can get the weight off the felt by trimming the handlebars and getting plastic pedals so it's even.
