  • @padeiru its a anamorphic lens used to fully enjoy all the projectors chips/panels and eliminate the top and bottom black bars you see in widescreen Blu Rays. You use the projectors internal scaler to stretch a widescreen movie vertically and then you place the lens in front of projector to stretch the image horizontally. and now you have a true cinemascope theater like presentation without those annoying black bars.

  • @padeiru Well its expensive in fact the cheapest descent anamorphic lenses costs anywhere between $900 to $1500 . for the medium range $3,000 - $5,000, high end $8,000 - $15,000, all these prices are just for the anamorphic lenses nothing more you got to remember you might need an motorized sled for the lens so that it can be moved back and forth accommodating the various aspect ratios. Those sleds are ridiculously expensive anywhere between $3,000 - $8,000. Yes very expensive for me. I buy use
