I used to think Travis was great when i was first starting to play drums in middle school...now i got older and understand that there is more to just hitting things really hard, Look up JoJo Mayer ,Tyshawn Sorey, Chris Dave, and Damion Reid for some insane jazz and if your more into metal then look up Jon Karel and get back to me about how jealous we are about Travis barker...maybe Jealous hes famous for playing music i started playing when i was 12 ...and still is playing the same music

I play drums, and I think travis barker is a good drummer for many reasons, he plays all styles of music, and do not use double bass and drums simulates quite well, so it does not do it with feet to hands, is very fast, no one says it's the best, but something ah ing a couple of times Drumms off, it is technically very good

Again, I understand this is not a real solo but just listen to someone like Danny Carey, Lenny white Thomas Lang , or gavin harrison. No ofence but these guys are on a whole nother level between odd times and polymeters. But Travis is only playing simple rock and I guess he is good for this particular area of drumming. @metalguitarist457 I think he can play rhythmic metric modulations it's basically just changing the tempo but in a really complicated way that I can't do and its a long word. This solo is from a particular song so I think thats why it doesn't really show his talent

To both the top comments: Travis Barker might not have ever said he was the greatest. But he is over rated. Yes he has energy. But energy isn't what makes you great. his "style" may be his own but his technical hand motions are nothing in comparison to people such as Travis Orbin. He is a talented person but he's nothing more than a "hype-man" of drummers when in comparison to others.

Why do people hate Travis, I'll admit he is slightly overrated, But he is a Punk drummer which is about the energy of the drumming and not the complexity. If you want complexity and ridiculous fills and whatnot, go and watch Joey Jordison, Dave Lombardo and Daniel Erlandsson, Dont hate on a different style of drummer.

I play drums, and I think travis barker is a good drummer for many reasons, he plays all styles of music, and do not use double bass and drums simulates quite well, so it does not do it with feet to hands, is very fast, no one says it's the best, but something ah ing a couple of times Drumms off, it is technically very good

Again, I understand this is not a real solo but just listen to someone like Danny Carey, Lenny white Thomas Lang , or gavin harrison. No ofence but these guys are on a whole nother level between odd times and polymeters. But Travis is only playing simple rock and I guess he is good for this particular area of drumming. But I would not go as far as to call him the best.

@metalguitarist457 I think he can play rhythmic metric modulations it's basically just changing the tempo but in a really complicated way that I can't do and its a long word. This solo is from a particular song so I think thats why it doesn't really show his talent

@X3YURHEART4 No, it's not because he can't do 10 minute fills. It's because he can't groove, he can't use dynamics, he can't incorporate rudiments, and he has no musicality. Hell, he can't keep a beat if it's anything but a simple punk beat. I saw him live with Blink182 trying to do some snare drum shit and he screwed up so badly it was unbearable. But what he does, he does best. No one is like him, or at least as 'loud' as him, I'll give him that. The catch is, Ringo was way more skilled
