That sounds more like the belt that drives the A/C compressor its possible it just came out of alignment and is squeeking or its possible the belt or compressor pully is ready to go. Its obviously a belt noise
To complete the post, Kia replaced all the belts, pulleys, the water pump, and even the timing belt, but the car still makes noise. The bottom line is Kia doesnt know how to fix their own vehicles. A Kia Specialist even visited the dealership to lend a hand, but all to no avail. Oh well. What next? Ford, GM, Toyota, Hondahopefully Ill have better luck next time.
From the Owner: the car still makes the same noise. Kia can't fix it. I am so sick of taking my car in to get fixed that I have give up, at least for the time being. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a can of belt conditioner and sprayed it on yesterday. What do you know...it worked. The belts do not make any noise, but we all know that belt conditioner is just a temporary fix. At least it is quiet now. - Disgruntled Kia Owner.
WOW! something is definately grinding! it wouldve been cheaper for the KIA dealership to just have droped a new engine in there... I SINCERLY HOPE THAT YOU HAVEN'T GIVEN THEM ANY MONEY FOR FAILURE TO REPAIR YOUR CAR.
I'd like to know what your outcome has been, since you posted this vid...good luck with that my friend
Wow! I just bought a Sorento and it's making the same noise. Did you ever get it fixed? What is it? Mine is not so bad when it rains, I live in Halifax N.S. What have you done so far?
Being that KIA boasts about their super 10 year/100K miles warranty, they should be embarrassed that they can't fix it. The mechanics at the dealership must be dopes or they don't care.
For the mechanics credit, When you mix mud with moving parts it will make this type of sound untill the mud and the parts the mud damaged are removed and replaced and then stop taking a 4x4 offroad and putting it to its limits of performance and then expect your dealer to be you pit shop and fix it and then be mad when they can not find the cause right away due to other damaged parts due to mud. I would know this being a tech at a local chevy dealer right now cars like the kia arekickingarebut

To Kia's credit, they are doing their best to fix this problem. A special Kia rep is going to try and fix the engine trouble. We'll see how it goes.

What a POS. Why can't they fix it? I'd ask to get a new one. Isn't 7 times for the same problem part of the lemon law?
KIA buyers beware!!

It's a lemon! The vehicle should be fixed or replaced.
