  • rafi ne bhi yeh gaana gaya tha, ha ha ha. kishore ke version ke aage phir se flop ho gaya.

  • pls dont talk racist..just listen to the music and enjoy..

  • rafi sahab was made for 60s and 70s but kishore for ever.

  • @robinmiles712

not really Rafi was the most supreme singer since 48 to 70. Kishore was not even regarded as a singer till 70's and that too as RD Burman said , Kishore needs RD and not the other way around.

  • @2012sangram tu phir aa gaya' paagal ke bachhe'. maine tujhe jo likha tha unka jawaab to de de pahle, abe tu bhi mualman hai kya, jo rafi ke tatte chaat raha hai. tu kahi mil jaaye na to teri gaand mein itna lamba land doon ki teri gaand 10 k.m chodi ho jaaye. ha ha ha.

  • kishore made rafi jobless.y r muslims guys r crazy after rafi sahab.the best will always be the best.

  • @robinmiles712 sahi kaha bhai, kishore da ko sabse jyaada 8 filmfare mile, unko tribute dene ke liye k for kishore ban chuka hai, radio par sabse jyaada gaane unke hote hai, sabse jyaada unke gaane remix hote hai, unke uppar biopic film bhi ban rahi hai, par yeh log apne rafi ko hi hamesha upper rakhenge, kabhi nahi manenge ki rafi 1970 ke baad gaana gaane ke liye tarste the, hamesha khush rahne waale rafi depress ho gaye the. mat maano sacchai to sacchai hi rahegi.

  • @robinmiles712

you moron, more hindus love Rafi, from where have you got the Muslim angle. Rafi and jobless, go to a mad house soon you bewakoof.

  • I remember wtching this movie in the middle east it was a great hit back then and still puts tears in my eyes .wow..great movie

  • i m preety sure that this song is meant for youtubers start a fight on who is the better singer lol

  • kishore kumars version is better being full on voice and expression

  • Muhammed rafi....... Uffff ufffffffff the king of singing.

  • rafi went off the scale many times. specially at picking lower notes.

  • @BRITISHALQAIDA,

Please tell me which Song Rafi went off the scale....

Of course "O Duniya Ke Rakhwale" remains one of the most melodious and heart wrenching rendition by any singer to date where the singer peaks the scales like never before and w/o distortion.

Again, Kishor had his own charm and that was in his own way most fabulous.

  • @df108

ok if u talk abt picking higher notes thn how abt comparing Mr Rafi with Nusrat fateh ali khan? playback singing isnt jst abt how higher u go on the scale.

  • @BRITISHALQAIDA,

Absolutely, playback singin is not just about higher notes...there are many who can go higher then Rafi, but are they melodious to ears at those notes? Rafi was one who could hit high notes and still be melodious.

Nusrat fath ali belongs to Sufi style of music and he was harsh on the ears every time he hit high notes. Same goes for his son Rahat who can hit hig notes but is not melodious at those notes but harsh on the ears.

Rafi had a range unparalleled by anyone.

  • @df108

omg u think ustaad nusrat fateh ali khan was harsh on years while picking higher notes?? uve lost ur mind completely n im sure u have no sense of music. n for god sake dont compare rahat besura with Ustad Nusrat or this wud b a disgrace to a legend. u check out wot i said in the very first comment abt nusrat sahbs teacher. how old r u btw ?

  • @BRITISHALQAIDA,

Pl. visit my page listen my own voice...then decide if I have sense of music :-)

I am biased 4 Rafi of course, but love Kishor no less.

In Sufi style of music, I hear them scream actually. In Hindustani classical, U don't scream that way. May b it conveys devotion or emotions, but that isn't melodious to ears. Ustad Nusrat and Rahat both do that.

Rafi on the other hand could take the Aroh and Avroh in a linear rendition w/o screaming. Check out: Yeh Dunia Yeh Mehfil.

  • how come Shammi Kapoor Looking like a Pear.

  • @muzzy2004,

LOL, when you reach his age of being on the wrong side of 40 and with a voracious apitite for good food, coupled with DNA, you too will look like a Pear....

Besides, I doubt he knew what Dieting was in those days... LOL

Shammi had his decade of 1960s where he reigned supreme in his style. No one could match or touch his flamboyance and grace. Despite the fact that he had put on a lot of weight.

  • rafi no1

  • MOHAMMAD RAFI IS BESTEST SINGER OF THE WORLD...THE ONE AND ONLY MOHAMMAD RAFI...NOONE SINGER CAN BEAT HIM .KISHORE KUMAR IS 2ND AND RAFI SAHAB IS ALWAYS NO 1 SINGER..

  • @TheAbidmalikk seems world is very small:-)

  • Rafi;s a legend no doubt about it. But Kishore was also genius that to without any formal classial music or any hindustani music background unlike rafi. If Rafi's voice has that soothing the soul like magic, kishore's voice had that electrifying effect that could fill life in a dead body. But unfortunately only we hindus appreciate a guy based upon the talent than the religion of the person unlike other religious people. I think its in their genes tte other religion i think. Hmm..Cant help!!

  • @roshancat14 nonsense Roshan. I am Muslim (Guyana) and I love Rafi, Kishore, Mukesh & many more. Rafi, however was clearly above his peers in range and talent and more importantly his voice was ever so heavenly... words cannot describe it. Add to that he was a very humble man. That does not belittle Kishore, Mukesh or others. I love many Kishore songs and to hear him sing without instruments was a pure delight. And lest we forget, Rafi was the one who sang for Kishore in the movies.

  • I love this movie and the song too..

  • Wow!! The violin work in amazing... SJ rock...

  • hi friends i have read all your comments and i find it abit childish why because mohd rafi and kishore kumar and amitabh bachan and yash chopra all made huge vsums opf money and left

but we only praise and never made any cent but in fact wasted alot on music and movies plus spoiling our health in arguing who is better than the other aanandh dube

  • This song is an infinite classic which will never cease to make my heart skip a beat through the emotions expressed by both singers

  • The first half is... the voice of one and only Mr. Mohd. Rafi... then Kishore Kumar in the middle... then back Rafi @ the end. Mr. Rafi's voice was used to bring emotions out. Very soulful.

  • sorry guys but altho i definitely agree that kishore could act out the song i feel like ur making it sound like rafi couldnt!

how else was he the ONLY singer who could make the actors sound like they themselves were singing? if that isnt acting out the song i dont know what is.

  • mohammeddata,

Amitabh is a living legend & Yash Chopra is a legendary director. Well, they both are/were good friends and if at all Amitabh wanted to do a good role in his film, whats wrong in asking? It wasn't for money if thats what you are thinking.

It shows his greatness that he does not think of himself as a legend and be down to earth.

Just like Rafi saheb who did not mind singing a number for Kishor kumar in one of his movies.

Even Aamir Khan says Amithabh is No 1.

    Regards.

  • Santhoshcu2,

I think you are taking the argument too far. The Khans are kids against one and only one actor who is still sellable after 40 years - Amitabh Bacchan. There is no comparison there.

Similarly, Rafi was one and only one - there is no comparison. Of course you have a right to an Opinion and I would respect that. I love Kishor too.

    Adios Amigo.

  • what a bullshit thats why amitabh went to yash chopra and asked him get me a job? and that film was mohabbatein

  • They were both great singers & I am a big fan of bot. The fact is that Mohd. Rafi was honored with the "best singer of the millennium" by Hero Honda and Stardust magazine in Mumbai on Jan 7, 2001. (Rafi got about 70% of votes)

  • WOAH!! 70% votes! where did u read this?

  • from 1:43 to 2:09 is Kishor sahab voice

  • Guys dont go with comaprison... Both were best at their own places... Listern Kisores Ek Hasina thi...Especially the piece .. 'Mar gaya wo javaan.. Janma leke kahin...' It creates very deep impact of the story on ones mind.. I am sure it can not be created by any other signer.....

  • Dude, there was only one Taansen and then there was only one Rafi. The range and depth that Rafi had, (without belittling Kishor) you must acknowledge that he could never match Rafi.

Kishor though fabulous in his own ways had himself acknowledged that Rafi was a legend and while he was not.

    Was Kishor modest, most likely.

Was he telling the truth - well of course.

  • There is no comparison between them because they have different singers, like you can not compare a math prof. and a biology prof. But Kishore was singing from his heart. I think you understood what i mean to say.

  • Hi Santoshcu2,

I know exactly what you mean, I am a fan of both, but when it comes to range and mood of songs, Rafi is simply unmatched till today.

Think about it, how many devotional, classical or patriotic songs did Kishor sang?

I will grant that Kishor could mentally act the songs and thus could sound very realistic on the screen.

But, I would join you in admiring both as great singers.

    Regards.

  • You should not compare them, both are legends. I commented because you have written there was only one Tansen. Amir khan also says that Salman khan is a good actor and Rajesh khanna says that Jeetendra is a good actor but obviously not that you know very well.

  • @df108

u knw wot ustaad nusrat fateh ali khan usted to say abt his teachers that he cant b like them but in reality he was far more advanced than his teachers. offcourse nobody wud say im better lol.. if u asked rafi abt kishorda wud he say yeah im better than him. NO... he wud say hes greatest n im nothing. its called respect to others. lol. dude ur not so sharp

  • @BRITISHALQAIDA,

Check what I said, that Kishor was being modest in stating that Rafi is a legend and he is not.

In my opinion Kishor-da was a prodigy, he had no formal musical training, but he could sing most types of songs. Except that he never sang Bhajans or religious songs.

A singer has to have many qualities, range, pitch, vocals, pronunciations, type, timing and "Dard". Rafi had all these qualities and some more...

But I love Kishor too, just that I like Rafi a shade more...

  • @df108 he sang bhajans also- aao kanhai mere dhaam(mere jeevan saathi 1972) religious-pyaar baat te chalo(hum sab ustad hain, 1965). i can give you full list. so correct yourself

  • @df108 ha ha ha..kishorda is nt legend. isiliye unpar 3-3 films ban rahi hai.tumhare comment koi mayene nahi rakhte. history create ho chuki hai.duniya ke liye-legends ke comment mayene rakhte hai tumhaare nahi.javed akhter ji ne kaha hai-kishorda jaisi aawaj na thi na hai na hogi( see k 4 kishore episode ).latadidi, aasha bhosle, sachin tendul, virender sehwaag, jahirkhan, shoab akhter, vvs laxman rajat sharma .. sabki pahli pasand-kishorda.remix me sabse aage-kishore songs

  • @pks1911 are bhai main bhi to inko yahi samjha raha hoon par ye log sachhai mante hi nahi. real facts ko deny karte hai, yeh galatfahmi mein hi jiyenge, inka kuch nahi ho sakta.

  • I don't like criticizing legends. But in response to your post and speaking only on this particular song: Kishore's voice sounds hoarse compared to Rafi's velvet, melodious voice. Kishore was great in many ways and one of that many ways was putting his brilliant personality into a simple, fun song. As for boss of song, song was composed to give Kishore the happier, faster part. Composer SJ may have caved to media hype in early 70s but they ALWAYS preferred Rafi musically. Rafi was the greatest!

  • Hi XD XD XD

  • @hobgoblin707 my dear a ninkampoop can express such type of comment puri duniya kk ki awaaj ki diwaani. kishoreda has best voice in all singers.in singing kishorda has better presentation of gaayki.untrained hote hue bhi wo rafi se aage nikal gaye hai.film music mein dada ne jo kiya hai aur koi nahi kar sakta.rafi classical seekh kar bhi kai gaane nahi ga paaye.wa songs manna da ne gaaye.jaise-chham-chham baaje re paayaliya.kishorda ne bina seekhe-payalwaali dekhna..,rangoli sajao re..jaise son

  • @pks1911

STOP PUTTING UR PERSONAL PREFERENCE AS THE BEST, IF YOU LIKE KK THEN FINE, BUT YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE FACTS THAT ALL THE SINGERS RECOGNISED RAFI SAHAB AS THE BEST SINGER AND PERSON BY A MILLION MILES, HE WAS ALSO CREDITED WITHT HE SINGER OF THE MILLENIUM, ALSO YOUR CONVENIENTLY FORGETTING THAT RAFI SAHAB SANG CONTINUOUSLY FOR 4 DECADES , AUR KK KO WOH EIK CHANCE MILAA KYUN KE RAFI SAHAB HAJJ PE GAYE THE AUR UNNO NE GHANA VAGHAIRA STOP KAR DIYA THA, JAB VAPAS AYEY TO PHIR CHAA GAYE TE

  • @MRafisahabgems were you there when the votes was counting, how can you tell that thevoting was not partial. i bet you that 80% voters was muslim. the great kishore sang from 1948 to 1987 which is more then boring rafi. rafi 1969 mein haj nahi gaye the when aradhna was released. come out from imagination and see the reality. rafi became jobless in 70, go and read rafi wiki. you chutiya.

  • @hobgoblin707 ..g bhi gaye.kishoreda songs me music directors ko help karte the. salute to genus dada.no comparison in d whole world. top in singing and top in comedy.issiliye 17 saal(1969-1987 )tak no1 rahe.superstar aate rahe jaate rahe.lekin dada naye super star ki aawaj bante rahe.dont be jealious.

  • @psooryalall

nope i don't think he can show rafi who is the BOSS not dissing but rafi is the king of bollywood forever but i agree in this song kishoreda brought this song to life well isn't it part of the script to shammi kapoor being the rejected lover where as rajesh is the one who is winning the heart of the woman ?

  • so great thanks a lot !!!!!

  • This is Rafi singing Zindagi Ek Safar, with a part by Kishore.
