Our Dalmatian, Patch, is 15 years old now, and, truth be told, probably won't last the year. Seeing this video has just brought back all of the great memories I've had growing up with her (I'm 19).

They are very special dogs, very underated. My puppy is now around 8 months, but he is calm as an adult when I want too, and full of energy when he understands that its playtime. But they are not like Walt Disney's movie 101 Dalmatians, understand this. They are guard dogs and very active dogs, they must be around their owners at A L L times or you break their little heart.

I can recommend 3 excellent books on the breed, I got them from Amazon.

For 5 straight years now my dream in life has been to have a dalmatian.

October 2010 I got a beautiful dalmatian puppy boy who is nothing but a sweet white ball with spots. I love him so much, everyone wants to pet him when we are outside walking. He attracts alot of attention. I don't just say this because I have a dalmatian, but they are the best breed of dogs. They are sensitive and happy, and sweet good dogs. But also the clown of dogs in the dog world. Sorry for my english.

I grew up with a dal, and have one that's 9 months old now. Quite the handful, the first couple of years, but once you get over puberty, they are amazing dogs.

I once heard a woman on Animal Planet say: "We had a dalmatian for 15 years, we can handle anything." And I honestly think she's right. They need a very, very fine balance in their training, or you'll have hell to pay for it later on.

Most people actually get rid of their dalmatian in the first year.

as beautiful as dals are they really are hard work. too many are in rescue because people expect them to be exactly like the ones in the films! fab family dogs however if raised properly. great fun :D i own 2

our recent dalmation was put down end of january...

all of u that want a dalmation buy one! they are so cute and are very very loving & will never miss an oppurtunity to be with you. as long as they are well sociolised and have lots of walks they will turn out to be lovely dogs !!!!
