  • Check out my channel to see this gun

  • impressive shots bro, gonna have to look into gettin me one of these if their really that quiet!

  • me gusta esta carabina, me la voy a comprar

  • what scope exatly you use because i want to buy the same as yours?

can you tell me more details about it, please

  • what Power is that, i live in the UK where we have a legal limit of 12ft-lb but im really enjoying a gamo whisper... do you recomend it?

  • @mjcruz18 1.77 would be over an inch and a half in diameter. That'd be .177.

  • would you recommend this in .177 or .22?

  • do you think it could pop a full un-openend can?

  • Yes, no question about it; the pellets at 100 yards almost made it through BOTH sides of a one gallon metal container.

  • video was cut and edited. Any air rifle can lob a shot at 100 yards....but will it kill anything NO.

  • No kidding it was edited. That doesn't make it any less real - and the shots aren't 'lobbed'. If you spent any time reading you'd see that the range was compensated for using a mil-dot crosshair in 9 power glass and that the pellets penetrated a metal container at 100 yards. No one here is claiming that a 100 yd shot is suitable for any air rifle hunting situation.

  • @tydirten i killed a squirrel at 120 with my whisper

  • Damn

  • Such a nice place to live!

  • how do you take this gun apart?? i found the one screw by the trigger but when i pull out the barrel and stuff it gets stuck right around the fore grip of the gun...is there another screw??? thanks!!

  • Hey I got a question I have this rifle to but my scope that is the same as yours, i think is not zerod enough but i shoot mostley up to 80 yards and still i sont see the pellets come down or impact. D you have any tips on shooting and zeroing. thx

  • WILL THESE AIR RIFLE PUT PELLETS INTO A SQUIRRELS FLESH OR WILL IT JUST BOUNCE OFF FROM LIKE 30-50 YARDS?????????????????

  • @DjFusion17 leave the squirrels alone, what have they ever done to you?

  • @DjFusion17

It will penetrate. I shot threw a 4 CM wooden board at 80 yards.

  • does the pellet drop at all?

  • Screw the gamo, look at that cabin on the beautiful property..lol.. Nice rifle though man,..

  • next time tie the soda can up where it cant swing

  • beautiful place, what distance are you accurate over repeatably?

I have one but i reckon my scope aint up to it

  • what's the difference between the gamo whisper deluxe and the gamo royal?

  • i have a Gamo Whisper VH in .177and with Crosman Premier 7.9gr Domes i can succeed in this shot 9 out of 10 times. sometimes 10 out of 10. my rifle has been tuned by rich and mich and i have the GRTIII trigger so i guess that makes all the difference. what power were you using on your scope and hoe many mils holdover?

  • Looks like the smokies durin the winter...

  • thats sweet i seen this video a long time ago and it convinced me to buy the whisper i have now! i havent ever set the scope for that distance bit overall a badass accurate gun.

  • Nice shooting. I shot a full soda can (shook up and warm) at 100 yards with my .22 Remington NPSS and Leapers 3-9x40. When it hit, the can literally exploded. I have not tried any longer distance yet, but I am sure it can be done. Your property is super nice!

  • 3-9X40 or 50? pellet 4.5mm or 5.5mm? thank!!!

  • how lond does the gun last can it only shoot pellets

  • at 100 yards... your really pushing that gun to its limit of range right?

  • Absolutely. I just tried it to see if it could be done, and its not easy or consistently repeatable.

  • damn u shoot good. the cans moving a bit and its raining.

  • NUT SACK!!

  • @nash00007

This gun I believe shoots at 1250 fps with pba at .177's but the gun shoots at 1000 fps with lead pellets.

  • nice property dude, looks like the southwest region of the U.S.

  • Northeast

  • @foresterscott01 I hope he was kidding.

  • @TheAirguniNATEr haha i didnt know it snowed in the mohave desert and in san diego.

  • @TheAirguniNATEr HAHA fail you were the comlete opposite hahahahaha

  • @TheAirguniNATEr

What? Southwest? South west are deserty states.

  • @TheAirguniNATEr ..nice guess on the location Mr. Geography. Your second guess would have been Hawaii.

  • how fast is this gun in .177 i want to buy one ,i love where u live ,where is this place

  • sweet place

  • can you get me a link to ur scope?

  • bsa a good scope for the whsiper? or a UTG 5th Gen 6x32AO Bug Buster by leapers?

  • @HondaRidercrf150r I would stay away from the BSA scopes. They are not quality scopes and may lose zero after a short period of time. Leaper's are a bit better. I have been very pleased with my Centerpoint. Whatever you do, make sure you get one that's rated for air rifles or you'll ruin it in a hurry.

  • beautiful scenery

  • i HATE how air gun companies use the high velocity PBA ammo tactics for marketing rifles and classifying quality/power.

to the average joe, if they see a 1200fps AD as opposed to 1000fps... obviously theyre gonna be intrigued immediately and think that that rifle is super powerful!

the truth is, PBA ammo SUCK. velocity means nothing! yes it increases muzzle velocity using pba, but it will lose kinetic energy way faster cuz its too light. and its inaccurate.

    PBA = terrible/impossible hunting

  • @jps13party agreed, i just got this gun an i'm using pointed crossman hunting pellets and this thing is a beast. no need for the pba, i took down a groundhog from 50 yards with the crossman points.

  • pretty much a quick lesson in air gun ballistics and hunting-

if you want to kill small game animals at MAXIMUM range, first off duh get a powerful rifle but mostly its the grain and caliber thats most important.

a .25 caliber pellet will have double the kinetic energy passed 50 yrds than a .22 cal, although the .22 cal will have the advantage on range. the .25 will kill better at long ranges by a HUGGE amount.

as for hunting with a .177, the pellet will lose energy too fast for long range

  • @jps13party I agree, I've stood about 120 yards down range(safely) of a Gamo Whisper, and you can literally hear the pellet slowing down very quickly

  • at that distance, this rifle's power plant it BARELY enough to kill a sparrow at that range.

im estimating power loss from about 15ft/lbs at the muzzle to about 1 - 1.5 ft/lbs of kinetic energy at the target @100 yrds.

100 yrds is pushing it... even if u can hit your target, its kinda useless. only for fun!

  • Love your fucking house:) nice cabin

  • At that distance with te same gun what ammo would i need to kill a rabbit?

  • @TiM0F33 There' s no way you're killing a rabbit at 100 yards with ANY air rifle. 25 to 30 yards at best on a cottontail and that's with a head shot - and I would try using one of the pointed hunting pellets out there to get the most out of the rifle on small game.

  • does it penetrate both sides at that distance??

  • @damiandrifts

Easily makes it through both sides. Also makes it through one side of a (1) gallon metal deck-seal container at the same distance.

  • cool vid

    nice shot

  • man i am jelus as f***k of you look where you live

  • should i get the Remington vantage or the gamo whisper ?

  • is that a gas spring. mine is a spring loaded and its loud, the silencer works just the spring is loud

  • Gas piston, much quieter.

  • is that a .22 or .177? im thinking of getting a gamo air rifle but im not sure which one.

  • .177 was all that was available when I bought mine.

  • that is a really nice shot, you must have great aim all the time! side note tho, that is not 100 yds, a football field is way longer then that

  • Yeah, it is 100 yds. I measured it with a forester's hip chain.

  • What velocity is the GAMO supposed to get with those pellets? Because you hear the shot before the can hit. Sound travels at approx 1100 f.p.s. So hearing the rifle first by about a 10th of a second implies the velocity is 800-900 f.p.s. Anyone got any ideas?

  • @LWDNKUMUS thats for the 177 supposedly...maybe he was usin the 22. model?

  • Then it isn't making anywhere near 1200 f.p.s. unless my math or interepretation is totally wrong.

  • @LWDNKUMUS

my math sucks brother so arguing with you would be a waste of ur time lol....idk the guy should chronograph his rifle if he can

  • The only pellets that exceed the sound barrier are the Gamo Raptors. I don't use them, especially when shooting for distance; they are unstable have no accuracy.

  • @LWDNKUMUS 1000 FPS is advertisted I belive

  • the velocity was initially 1000fps or 1200fps with the Gamo PBA but the farther away the farther the pellet has to travel slowing it down, sound will not slow down.

BTW Mach varies based on atmosphearic conditions...anywhere from 1000fps to 1250fps based on the conditions.

  • As I understand it, the speed drop is pretty serious for the lighter pellets. At 30 yards a 1000 fps muzzle velocity will drop to 600 fps. and at 100 yards probably less than 250! That explains the rifle noise being ahead of the pellet hit on the can in this video. I guess it all depends on the range one is shooting at as to whether the higher velocity is of any value. Since the highest muzzle velocity pellet, due to low mass, loses velocity much more quickly. Hunting? Choose heavier pellets.

  • He is using extra heavy lead pellets so they have maybe a 900fps muzzle velocity and after about 100 yards I suspect it is around 500-600 fps.

But yes, lighter pellets will start fast and slow fast, heavies will start slower and carry farther.

  • at 30 yards a raptor that was shot at 1000 fps will drop to 790-810 fps. at 100 yards will slow down too 310-330. though a raptor only going 1000fps is a low powered springer. raptors are usually shot out of atleast 1200fps

  • @LWDNKUMUS Sounds about right. 800-900 is about what that gun averages.

  • That's probably accurate. It's tough to chrony pellets because they are so small. I tried a few times with mixed results. I'm not really that interested to be honest with you. The Raptor pellets certainly break the sound barrier, though, and make a loud crack.

  • @foresterscott01 is there a second shooter anywhere grassy???-jk gr8 shooting

  • @LWDNKUMUS supposed to be 1000fps with standard pellets and 1200fps with the precision (PBA) pellets

  • beautiful land there sir.

  • Are the Beeman Crow Magnums any good? I'm going to try some.

  • hmm if you need to aim high why did you use heavier pellets??? or is the accuracy better with those baracudas. I like the Raptor pellets that should help by increasing the velocity... give it a try i would love to hear the results,

Like your garden:D nice little river

  • Better accuracy with heavier lead (more stable at longer ranges and less affected by wind), also I have heard that raptors can cause damage to the mainspring over time because they are so light; I don't use them. Even at 100 yds. the Baracudas penetrate one side of a 1 gallon steel container, which I found unbelievable.

  • your right that is unbelievable, do you need to aim really high or just a little bit?? i want to buy a gamo varmint hunter/shadow sport and i want to know what the maximum range is. i have a really big backyard too so i would like to have some airrifle long range fun instead of 25 yards

  • hey wat type of gamo is tht and where did u get it

  • Comment removed

  • beautiful back yard! PA??

  • Close, northern NY

  • it doesnt look lke 100yds...

    but footage can be tricky

  • Measured with a forester's hip chain.

  • that is a beutiful scenery there

  • did you have to aim high?

  • Yes, quite high but using the mil-dot scope reticle makes it a little easier than guessing each time.

  • damn nice backyard got a creek

  • nice shots!!

  • why are you whispering

  • he's hunting! the soda can could hear him and escape...... xD

  • Nice, you have a beautiful front yard. These pellet guns are getting extra fancy these days.

  • good shooting

  • dude i fuken love where u live its hella nice

  • Thanks for the info Forester, I ordered a scope things to 98snakeeater, and also that grt iii trigger. The guy who sold me the trigger (charliedatuna) had a memo saying do not fire extra heavy ammo w/ the gamo. What do you think?

  • You are the man for making that shot. I have a few questions for you. I got a gammo a few months ago. I have trouble hitting 50 yards with it. Everything is stock on it. Did you replace the scope or the trigger??? I just put on order 500 ct of the pellets you recommened in your video. Also, I was shooting about 40 yards yesterday at a can of beans. I had to compensate to the right to hit it repeatedly, Not sure if my scope is off, or if it was the wind(there was a bit of wind)

    Pls Help

  • Definitely replace the scope (I have had great luck with the centerpoint I have on mine). The 'Gamo' scope is actually a BSA model, none of which will hold a zero properly. Get one of the better airgun scopes and you will be quite happy with your groups. I replaced my trigger also - with the GRT aftermarket one. Much nicer feel and break; easy to install, and it will also help with your accuracy at extreme ranges.

  • You might have to use something called the artillery hold. Balance the rifle in your open palm and let it vibrate and recoil. This should increase accuracy. More about this on PyramidAir's blog. Read around a little bit and you will see that he talks about it a lot.

  • ok i have shot air rifles all my life and there is no way you could get a 100 yard shot out of that.

  • Not sure what you're talking about. If you are implying that it's not 100 yards you are incorrect. I measured it with a forester's hip chain (I am also a former land surveyor) at 300 feet and then hung the can. I wouldn't call it 100 yrds if it wasn't. No, I can't hit it every time - that's a limitation of the rifle, but I can hit it regularly by compensating for the elevation drop. A gallon jug can easily be hit repeatedly with the whisper at 100 yrds.

  • I have with my PCP air rifle

  • great video puts you in the perspective of a little critter

  • gj. very good clip!

  • dude thats incredible

  • you need to put some rocks in the can so it does not sway as much

  • How do you get it to be so quite?my spring makes a lot of noise.

  • It's quieter for two reasons. First, I do not have a spring piston in mine, I am using an air-ram piston conversion instead. There is no spring noise or twisting, and it can be left cocked indefinitely. Second, I use heavy pellets that don't break the sound barrier.

  • How much did the conversion cost?I am assuming i'd have to take it to a gunsmith.I also use crossman's lead pellets4.5mm.

  • I had the conversion done by PyramidAir when I bought the rifle. It was about $100. I think you can send them your rifle. Not sure if a standard gunsmith would do it, but you could ask. There is some danger in doing it yourself, as you are dealing with compressed spring pressure.

  • Have you use PBA pellets in yours? if yes your piston gasket may be gone pallllll. PBA pellets are the number 1 enemy of air rifles, since they are so light the piston will slam really bad and the gasket will be gone in just the first 30 shots, thats why your rifle is a lit bit loud, some air is going out of the cylinder walls

  • Does that means that we should only use heavy or extra heavy pellets and ignore the lower muzzle velocity, in order to prolongate the life of an air rifle?

    Greets

  • No too heavy and your providing a lot of resistance and making them inefficent and less powerful.

  • im thinking about purchasing a gamo whisper is that a .177 or a .22 ?

  • 177; they only just came out with the 22 version. You won't get that kind of range with a 22. Since airgun hunting generally requires headshots on small game anyway, I would opt for the 177; it gets you higher velocity, more range, and has the same effect when a squirrel is hit in the head.

  • i got a gamo whisper VH with laser and flashlight with pressure pads for sale..brand new less than 200 shots thru it

  • dude why the fuck are you shooting fucking cans for. You live in the best place ever for hunting so grow some testicles and fuck up some pigeons

  • Dude did you ever try filming yourself hunting; dude it's near impossible.

  • wisper is the best pellet gun!

  • not be sure about that...

  • wow beautiful property man

  • that is amazingly accurate

  • so i have the daisy powerline 880 and its sp crazy to get the cope sighted in that came with it and i was just wondering what ewould be a bettere alternative to the cheap scope that came with it thankx and please comment me back

  • Check PyramidAir or Airgundepot for a 1" tube scope, maybe a Centerpoint or a Leapers would be good enough. You'll need 1" rings to mount on the 880's 3/8 grooved receiver, too. Spend as much as you can afford to on the scope, you will get what you pay for.

  • I have the same gun you have and I put a BARSKA scope on it from the local sporting good store. It is so much easier to use and is crazy accurate now!

  • Great shooting!

I was looking into purchasing either a Gamo Whisper refurbished or a brand new Gamo Big Cat. Have you (or anyone here for that matter) ever tested them side by side and compared accuracy? I was curious about the refurbished one because it's cheaper, has the same warranty and, in my estimation, was probably retooled with greater care and detail than those being originally mass produced. I'd like to know what you think...

  • I would not hesitate to buy refurbs and I always look for them first, but I would go with the Whisper if you can. I would be surprised if one was more accurate than the other, however; the Whisper has an integrated one-piece scope base for use with scope-stop rings and I believe the Cat does not. That was enough for me to prefer the Whisper.

  • how much was it

  • I just got mine for Christmas and i think it was around 260$, not positive though

  • at 100 yards do you have to aim up much or not at all?

  • Absolutely; that is probably twice the optimal range for this rifle. With the Mil-dot Centerpoint scope I'm using the 3rd dot, which is quite a bit of holdover. I still easily get through both sides of the can, though, and it is almost impossible to get multiple hits in a row, as the group size gets fairly large at that distance.

  • WHAT HAVE YOU SHOT WITH THE WHISPER?

  • Squirrels, mostly reds around the house. Generally any body shot will drop them quick. For greys I definitely do headshots only.

  • you live in the U.P.?, kinda looks like it and every one who lives up there has a red squirrel problem so yeah just wondering if thats where you live(not saying red squirrels are only found in the u.p. but that in combination with the scenery makes me wonder if thats where this was filmed.)

  • What the heck is a U.P.? I'm in northern New York State, in the middle of St. Lawrence County.

  • U.P. is the upper peninsula of michigan, sorry

  • is it worth 200 dolars?

  • I suppose that's up for debate. Most of the hype about the rifle is its supposed silencer. I could care less about that, and it doesn't do much anyway as far as I could tell. The rifle is very light, well balanced, accurate (one piece scope mount), and fun to shoot. The GRT trigger and a nice quality scope make it an excellent hunting rifle.

  • sry i skipped talking part, u use scope or just sights?

  • There's no way to make this shot without a scope. I use a CenterPoint 3-9x MilDot Scope and a one piece base.

  • is yours the .22 or .177 version?

  • It's a 177. I don't think the Whisper comes in .22. If it does it must be just out.

  • you are so lucky i wish i lived there. Do you hunt with the air rifle

  • Great video, good shooting, you live in a beautiful place.

  • i just bought this rifle cuz i wasnt into the crosman 664sb pump im guessing i bought a good rifle

  • It's a nice rifle. I have an RWS model 48 also but it's so heavy it's tough to hunt with for very long. I also got the ram air piston installed on my Whisper, so I can leave it cocked indefinitely without worrying about spring fatigue. I would recommend at least installing the GRT trigger. It's a cheap mod and easy to do. The stock trigger is poor. Also buy the best airgun scope you can afford. Get rid of the BSA that comes with the rifle.

  • yeah i noticed that the scope is a little weird ill c what i can find ill snoop around by the way i used the rifle with the normal 50 pellets they gave me and WOW its umm loud but powerful as hell

  • Careful shooting the Raptors. I've read from several different sources that prolonged use of the ultralight pellets can cause piston failure.

  • thanx for the tip im using the pellets that come with it i dont know if there raptors but yeah

  • does BSA stand for BullShit Apparatus

  • You get what you pay for as far as scopes are concerned.

  • can you tell me your top five choices for ammo for a gamo gun? (.177)

  • I can tell you that for the Whisper and most other high velocity rifles, stick with heavy pellets. I use Diabolo Baracuda Extra Heavy, H&N Field and Target, Beeman Kodiak Match Extra Heavy, Beeman Crow Magnum, and if you want to go a little bit lighter then Beeman Silver Bear. I've also heard of guys having good luck with Crosman Premier Hollow Points but I haven't tried them. Don't be concerned with velocity, be more concerned with accuracy.

  • yea rite now im using a crossman premeire hollow points. theyre relly good and i reccomend them to anybody. thats all im using now cuz thats wat seemed to do the best accuracy wise. so thanks for ur recomendations. ill chek them out.

  • how much does this gun cost? maybe you can give me some advice. i want to buy an ineexpensive air rifle for 60 bucks or lesss. what should i get?

  • Last I checked about $220. With a decent scope about $320. You aren't going to find anything for $60 that isn't a POS. Save your money and get something that you can actually use for awhile. That being said, the best you can do for $60-$70 is probably the Crosman 2100b pump rifle. Gets about 750 fps. In the same category is the Daisy 880, but I would prefer the Crosman. I've owned both of these when I was a kid.

  • @foresterscott01 have to say great shooting for a start and its about seeing how it sounds not what your target is !!!!! have you done anything with it, like a turbo or super tune changed the stock scope too something i cant afford???? its a great shot either way well done thanks for posting and keeping it real are you happy with the rifle in general thinking of buying one ....

  • that is beautiful property man... and nice shot btw what video editing program are you using?

  • Thanks. Using Ulead VideoStudio 11.

  • crosman phantom 1000x .117 pellet max velocity 1000fps 3x-9x bsa scope will i be able to do that??? dont worry about my ability to shoot i just need to know if my gun can do the job! anyone?

  • The pellets that I use are traveling about 860 fps out of a rifle that will shoot raptors at 1200. You could certainly attain similar ballistics from a Crosman Phantom. Stick with heavy pellets for the best accuracy. Also, lose the BSA scope and pick up something of quality. I'm using a CenterPoint 3-9x here.

  • just for now ill try the bsa but im going to order a centerpoint online as soon as i get a chance!

  • Airgundepot has some good airgun specific scopes. Buy the best one you can afford. Do not use a regular firearms scope on a spring piston airgun; it will be damaged. The problem with the BSAs is that most will not hold a zero properly. I had one come free with the Whisper but I never used it. The Centerpoint I bought came with a one piece base and dual illuminated mil-dot reticle (which is a necessity for shooting at long ranges). It was around $100.
