The Type 096 Tang-class SSBN is under construction and will enter service by 2010. It can carry 24 ballistic missiles (JL-2 or JL-3). That's twice the amount of missiles the Type 094 carries.
The JL-2 has a range of 12,000 km and can carry 4 warheads each.

@bombarderoazul JL-2 is 12,000~14,000 kilometers range; 8,000 is only DF-31 range, while JL-2 is modified from DF-41.
