Hi, I'm about to decide to buy a 230 cm Broadwood Barless, from the quality of the video I can't well judge, so I'm asking you: according to you is the sound soft enough to play slow songs as nocturnes? Sorry if the question sounds a bit stupid, thanks!
John Broadwood Pianos have a very distinct tone adn sound to them. very diferent to the Kawai, Yamaha and Steinway. I had a JB upright for 35 years, but the casing started to crack and the strings were getting rusty. Cost of repair was more expensive than a new piano so opted for a Kawai KS2F and its served me well, but no where near the quality of sound then the JB I had
then didn't you lie to yourself? repair of a classic will always bring more joy then a new instrument. obviously your love for the instrument wasn't big enough... pity!
if you read my post correctly, I stated that the cost of repairing the uprigt didnt justify the means and that it had to be sent by ship half way round the world to Australia. It would have probably broken apart. SO NO I DIDNT LIE TO MYSELF. Common sene prevailed in this instance I have only seen one John Broadwood in my 30 year in Austalia and when I played it , it was very smooth and had superb tonal qualities. The price they were asking was beyond what I could afford
Very hard and to find a good technician is about as difficult to find gold on the streets of Perth. If I had a bottomless pocket I would probably trade my Kawai in for another JB.
It really does look 4 handed at some points in the video. Does this piano have an ole' player system in it? Just look from 1:10-1:16, pause it, and you'll see why it looks that way. Any input?
Hey can i request a piece and by the way this piece is my favorite of all piano pieces Beethoven rocks hey can you post Arcadi Volodos Mozart's Turkish march?
Thank you! Only just joined and want to show people different makes of pianos sound like? I have just sold this piano so wanted to keep a few memories. Let me know what piano music you like and I'll see if I can pop a few videos up.
