  • I support your decision to use a midwife and go drug-free. I would certainly do the same. I thought it was very impressive that you were still walking around 1/2 hour before you gave birth. I have a midwife friend who says that warm water really helps. The mother would be 3 cm for hours and miserable. The midwife would break the water and put them in the hot tub. They would deliver within 1/2 hour. From what I understand, this was a regular occurrance. A hot tub might really help. :-)

  • Nice video. Mind if I ask why you dont make videos anymore? I just came across you and I liked your content, then looked and whoomp no more video in a long time.

  • my mom thought i was watching porn when you started to have another contraction... then i showed her the vid she feels sad at the pain that you went through and happy at the beautiful boy that you got (i say yey another human)

  • women got it ruff!

  • i don't support abortion, i support the woman's right to choose if abortion is right for her. i, myself, would never consider abortion, but just because it's not the decision i would choose, does NOT mean i am so arrogant to think that no one should have the right to choose or determine when they are ready to be a parent.

pro-lifers, such as you, are extremists, and are too self righteous to understand that people all have different situations and reasons for needing an abortion!!

  • Having an abortion doesn't release a woman from her responsibilities. It just makes her the mother of a dead baby. A woman's uterus will always carry the scars of that decision. & it could cause her problems later on in subsequent pregnancies. Not fun!

Your birth video makes me sad. You had a lovely birth...but your attitude about it makes me think that you needed more support...you might have a much more positive outlook had you had a doula. But otherwise great job! Your baby is beautiful.

  • ugh! i'm sorry i can't be a pretentious mother and say that labor was beautiful when it wasn't. it's painful, VERY painful. the only part of childbirth that was beautiful and emotional was when my baby was in my arms! during L&D i had plenty of support from my husband, my parents, and my midwife. (so i don't exactly appreciate your assumptions.)

my outlook is healthy and honest. i LOVE my kids, and i'm VERY proud that i did it drug free. but L&D will always be a traumatic experience.

  • Wow ppl like you really dont know what its like for those who have been in a position to get an abortion. if a 15 year old is raped and ends up pregnant do you think she should have to keep that baby? that 15 year old is a baby herself. some ppl are in terrible situations and i strongly agree that these ppl should have a choice and dont need the crap that comes from ppls mouths like yours.

  • Wow, you are an incredibly hateful and angry person. i'm not going to back down when i say that a woman should have the right to choose if/when she is capable of being a mother. as a mother, i know that NO one should be a mother if they are not ready or capable!! that's how criminals, angry hateful people, and drug addicts are created.

and to wish upon me & my children to be in the unfortunate circumstance where they would need to have an abortion is just like an evil, bully pro lifer!

  • Damn! I remember that! Where was the dad? It's alot better when he's there rubbing your bak and swaying back and forth holding you! I love my Babies's daddy!

  • he was taking the pictures/video, and putting on the frou frou to help soothe me. unfortunately, he's a terrible masseuse, and his "massages" ended up being more painful than helpful.

  • Thank you for sharing such a vulnerable time in your life. It almost brought me to tears remembering my daughter's birth. It was the most painful thing I've gone through but it was so worth it. I never knew how strong I was until that day.

4 mins of pushing? Wow I thought my 30 min/11 pushes was fast. :)

  • p.s. I love this song. Perfect lyrics at the time you were having your hardest contraction.

  • motherhoodchronicles, you are a nice looking young woman, you have a lot of power inside your body and you are honestly beautiful, even with your belly!! How much did it hurt near delivery?? Could you tolerate the most painful contractions?? How hard was it?? Did the delivery hurt as well??

  • Does anyone know who sings the song in this video?

  • frou frou

  • Lol why didnt you just go in the bed when you were in all this pain

  • because laying in the bed actually intensified the pain. and standing up, walking around, sped up the labor, since gravity was helping to move him down.

  • Ow Ok

  • Did the doctor tell you this

  • it is a known fact that walking around or taking a shower, helps to speed up labor. that is why doctors encourage women whose labor is slow going to take a couple laps around the maternity ward.

my first labor, where i was restrained to the bed due to IV's and such was about 5 1/2 hours, and excruciatingly painful. my second, where i was allowed to walk around and take a shower, was less painful, and also much quicker, not to mention that pushing took only 4 minutes.

  • Even as you said in your other vid, NOTHING is fact but my question is, did the doctor tell you this

  • HA! Good one! I wish my wife woulda watched her vids of birthing our daughters...

    Now we're expecting baby #3...

    Ah well such is life...

  • omg.. can u describe the level of pain.. is it true that u feel like ur about to die??..

  • that's kind of a morbid question, don't you think? especially since i've never died, or been close to death.

labor is painful, and it's hard, especially near delivery. that's all i can say. the hospitals have a scale, though, to determine how much pain you're in using 1-10, i'm sure i was 10+.

  • thnx 4 the reply... i should think u was 10+ too.. hope ur baby is doin well...

  • 10 means maximum pain, However if laying down would intensify the pain, and you werent laying down, that means that your pain wasnt at the maximum, therefore your pain couldnt have been 10

  • that's why i said 10+! according to their pain scale, which has pictures to correspond with each level, i was beyond their measure of pain. so, in this case, since it is a picture scale, intended to give the nurses a general idea of the pain you are in, there is no set maximum, and one could easily surpass 10.

  • If its pictures than yes, However if they tell you to pick from 1 to 10 than that means you had to be maximum pain in which you werent because you could have been worse

  • This brought tears to my eyes. I really really hate giving birth, yet I have done it twice (once with drugs, the other time no time for drugs) and even though I still remember that I hate it, when I think back it has this weird, fragile, beautiful feel about it, that your video captured excellently. The timing of the music was very well done too, did you do it yourself?

  • Awesome!! I had a 9lber too (a girl!) without pain meds and you were FAR FAR more quiet than I was! I was full of screams and I didn't know what to do with myself or my arms or anything. i don't know how you did it so quietly!!! Good job!!

  • well, he was my second, so it was much easier.

you should have heard me with my first! the nurses kept telling me to be quiet, because i was scaring the other mothers. (my in-laws said you could hear me screaming in the waiting room.) and when the doctor came in, the first thing she said was "see, that's why women get the epidural".

good for you for going natural!!! more moms need to do natural, too!

  • Annika was my third, but also my largest, and first natural birth (and last, thank you tubal!!). the actual birth is on my youtube, LOL. My friend who had to leave for a while said she was able to hear my out at the elevators. *blush* One time the nurse tried to tell me I needed to quiet down, and that was the closest I came to cursing or voilence during my labor. I did tell her to leave the room, though. My midwife was AWESOME, and told me to let it out. :D

  • Lovely video, im giving birth to my son in 5wks so im doin some research, cant wait, done it before twice and cant wait to do it again!

  • just one thing to say, not disgusting......beautiful.

  • Wow! Great video! What made you decide to go drug-free? The nurses let you walk around, too? That's a bonus, because I heard that helps alot.

  • i had a midwife, which allowed me to go more natural, no IV's or anything. because of that, i had a lot of mobility.

i went drug free because...well, i'm not a weak pansy. and also the drugs have multiple negative effects that go far beyond just health. they can effect the child and mother mentally, and weaken the chemical bond created during childbirth.

  • was he saying motherhoodchronicles has an std or bigpoppa? im confused...why would he say that..?

  • i was confused, too. (i was also confused as to lostie100's post "no stupid". i have no idea who that's for or what it's about.)

it's best not to concern ourselves with random incoherent comments.

    :)

  • no stupid

  • 1 out of 3 girls between the ages of 17-25 are on birth control. Also 1 out of 3 guys have STD's. So if 1 out of 3 girls out there are having unprotected sex, do the math on that to see how many more people are going to get STD's.

  • well, my guess is that you are writing this comment on any video with the tag line birth control, because that has nothing to do with this video at all.

(also, i just wanted to let you know that statistic is highly inaccurate. it is a scare tactic you are using to try to support whatever your agenda is.)

    thanks, though...i guess.

  • You know what, you probably have an STD.

  • joke?

i don't know if that's a joke or what, but if it isn't, i would like to say that i don't have an STD, as i was tested during both pregnancies.

if it was a joke...ha ha...i guess. but, not really.

  • When you shared an actual contraction at the end I found it beautiful.. You looked so strong.. I read that women, when left to labor how they want will find dark corner areas.. be it in a room, closet or behind somewhere, it is very primal.. thats what I thought of instantly when i saw u laboring... beautiful!

  • Was crying right along with you towards the end of your video. DD Elizabeth 8, sitting here watching me.

But you know, when it's all over with and you see your baby, it's sooo worth it! Have more, the more kids the more hands you have around the house to help. ;) *wink* LOL

  • having lots of kids and a big family sounds so great...in theory. it's not so easy in practice. i have a hard time managing the 2 i've got now. :)

i have nothing but the utmost respect to any mother who can handle multiple kids. (my husband's g'ma had 8 kids, and she is the most amazing lady i've ever met in my life!)

  • How old are you?

  • i'm 24. why?

  • Sorry. Just wondering. You look younger then 24 (compliment). Hope all is well.

  • oh, i really only asked why, because when i typed in "24" youtube said the comment was too short and needed more characters.

by the way, thanks for the compliment! (i had just turned 23 when i gave birth to my son.)

  • O. lol And your welcome.

  • Who sings the song accompanying this video?

  • frou frou

  • wow...u look very brave && u don't look disugsting:)

congrats on bringing a beautiful baby into the world:)

  • I think you looked beautiful.. Way to go for a healthy drug free birth. Congratulations

  • I watched it several times now: Hey, you're a endless beautiful, very brave and awesome mommy! Your son is so cute! You seems to be the bravest mom, even the pretty tough contractions were without any help!!

  • I may have to take back that "hot geek" comment. Just kidding. :) You were very brave and candid to post that. And that caption at the end was hilarious. BTW, I've had a kidney stone and a woman doctor told me it was worse than childbirth. Even if it did weigh 8lbs and 15oz less than your son. :)

  • Depends on whose birth and whose kidney stones :)

  • Hi, you r very brave to be able to go thru childbirth. I dont think i will be able to do that ever in my life!

  • I think if i had the choice I would take another dislocated shoulder over pregnancy pains. Your a pretty damn tough kid. And you look wonderful pregnant.

  • Dear mom,

thank you very much, you did it very good, really well! What an unbelieveable, endless cute and perfect baby! Congratulations!!

How could you go through this? It looks difficult, even on the video already! Are you sure, you had MORE PAIN THAN THAT towards the end??

Can you remember and describe HOW MUCH MORE???

    Christi

  • you dont look disgusting, you look beautiful, you are after performing a miracle

  • WOW, I find myself sitting here in awe. You are indeed a brave woman, for going through that of course, but also for posting the vid. They say that Labour is meant to be far more painfull than a kick to the two veg. Noone can know for sure of course, lol, but you have my respect lass. :)

  • thanks. but the only brave part of posting this video is that i'm posting such gross and unflattering photos of myself. the vid was actually one of the milder contractions i had, toward the end i was in so much pain that the only thing i could do was scream. it was the same when i had my daughter, too. labor SUCKS!!

  • I agree. Labor sucks but you don't look disgusting at all. I think you're beautiful and I commend you for posting the video. How are your kids by the way? :)
