Wait, Soran Bushi still going on? I definitely thought it disbanded. I was one of the captains from 2009 to 2011, and I thought that there was nobody to lead it! I'd definitely like to see a performance! When is the next one?

@DOAer I'm not sure when our next performance is, but as for the captains, one this year is the little brother of a past captain.

It's been that way for a long time...unfortunately. I don't know why. But Youtube's been a bit glitchy recently, at least in my experience....

I saw different styles of performing this dance than how my group usually does it. And I must say that this way is one of my favorites. Man I love dancing Soran Bushi.

this dance is awesome, i learned it in high school and it was really fun performing at art festivals. I'm going to get back into it to give me some energy! Apparently I haven't forgot the transitions. :) Good job, guys!

I learned the Tanko Bushi from my teacher and later I taught my sister who needed to teach a dance to her classmates in a teaching class (she's learning to be a teacher). Maybe she'll want to see this one too...it's really neat.

This year's Soran Bushi team is performing at the Shorecrest unity festival on Febuary 26th. We have a great leader this year and we've already had a performance at Barns and Noble to help raise money for students that are going to Japan in Febuary over mid-winter break.

First practice was today at lunch...me and Usagi-Sama (we call eachother by japanese names) hunted out some of our other friends and ended up with 3 others (Kisa-Chan, Poko-Chan and Nii-san!), we're gonna do it in Cosplay form! lol, we're called the Pink Fisherwomen.

Wow. I first saw the Soran dance when my little brother marching band had Japanese students at hosts. They did this at their concert. This is the first youtube video that I've seen that comes close to their performance. You guys had just as much heart as they did. Congrats it was beautiful

I went to a Soran Bushi thing today after school. :) There were about 5 guys including me. Everybody else's kiai's and "Dokkoisho's" and "Soran's" weren't loud enough. I have to yell at them to be louder :D

Haha I think I didn't stretch enough before Soran Bushi, and now my thigh area hurts. And I have marching band in a couple hours.... Hell.

in the end, it really isnt all that hard to make Soran Bushi in my opinion =P you just have to make sure to have an open schedual and be able to make all the practices ;D
