  • You should also look at "Who the *$&% Is Jackson Pollock?" It's a similar situation but this painting has Pollocks finger print in the paint and they won't authenticate it. Disgraceful situation.

  • @Coriolana It's a fake pollock. Read about the peter paul biro article in the new yorker.

  • man paul morrisey should get together with a bunch of factory people who worked with andy and make their own auth board, at least these people were there..

  • dirty dirty dirty

  • ah all for money,, everyone wants money.

  • My god, this lawyer is sleazy.

  • the paintings i own are all authenticated but in 1988,after his passing...so sorry for these individuals.

  • They are destroying the mans work in the process, that's got to be the worst part of this whole debacle. How can that ambulance chaser sit there and say that Warhol signed the damn painting strictly on the basis of it being an autograph? knowing full well that it would be, and is a validation of the work itself. What frustration, I mean why buy a Warhol? When there done none of his work will be worth a damn.

  • We have disagreed agressively on many things but man, you are right on with all of your comments here on all parts of this special. his accent IS embarassingly fake but what a rape he has had to endure at the hands of these criminals. I hope Ivan gets his due before he passes away, he's getting up there.

  • I'm glad we could find some common ground SRS. I wish Ivan the best of luck, but it does'nt look good.

  • Joe Simon is a ponce, and his fake accent sux, but he did get raped by that Warhol board. That's for certain. The problem here is that if the board reverses the decision they will lose a lot of face, especially with this film and everything.

  • clearly the "board" cant be seen to make mistakes thats why they denied his painting twice..

  • People that own a Warhol Painting should get together and file a suit against the board to disband them. In the future their authenticated art can turn out to be worthless.

As i understand no one on the board is qualified to authenticate a Warhol or any other kind of art.

Let us find out who these people are and put a nice article in the news with their faces so everyone knows what kind of trash we are dealing with... Good Luck

  • Just what I heard that no one on the board are qualified to authenticate a piece of art, and when they stamp a piece of art it is totally ruined because the stamp ink leaks through the art.

    Get rid of the board...................

  • Right on right on. Fucking criminals. Like most say, they are controlling the price of Warhols by even existing. The problem is that there are no rules in the art world that we have to live by. Almost anyone can come up with a board and declare itself an authority and therefore destroy your work. (it is true that you dont HAVE to go to them but...)

  • what is up with these people on the board?

  • amazing

  • wow

  • this board is full of shit, fucken asshoes!!!!!!

  • The layers reasoning is totally unsound. His analogy of signing a basball cap is ridiculous. Signing a basball cap is an autograph, signing a painting has only one purpose, authenticating it. Not to mention his lack of knowlegde about Andy's personality and working methods, or the intentional ignoring of them.

I hope these people get seriously sued and screwed.

  • They are a bunch of pompous assholes.

  • i have a massive andy warhol crush.. this is sooooo interesting..

  • have youw atched the whole documentary...

  • yer i have , actually wonderful.

  • The media has recently been filled with reports of the Andy Warhol Foundation being involved in extremely dodgy practices aimed at monopolising the market for, and increasing the value of Warhol's work which has resulted in an American man suing the foundation. Apparently the Andy Warhol Foundation has been labeling works inauthentic that are in fact authentic in order to create more demand for Warhol's work

  • @heart106 "Apparently"?? Jumping to any conclusion based on "media" reports is gullable and laughable. The Warhol Authentication Board is doing a great job as far as I can see, in protecting Warhol authenticity.
