i found a pretty cheap repair kit online. but like others have said, i'd be scared to death to do it myself. there is a computer place by me that has done work on my laptop in the past. i might see if they can do it. even though mine is used, i'd like to get it as new as possible

Don't be scared, you can do it! I just replaced a screen myself, first time and I am so proud of me! One tip I can say is that those plastic tools are a**. I used them at first but they broke mid way and I finished with my precision tools. Make sure you have a second set as back up or just use your precision tools, oh, and take your time :)

The White Screen of Death, WSoD, some operating systems after encountering a critical system error which can cause the system to shut down to prevent damage. a disconnected or non-working LCD cable. reconnecting the cables fixes the problem but sometimes the cable or the socket is broken and requires replacement. Sometimes it just represents a software problem requiring a simple hard reset (Hold Home + Sleep button for 10 seconds) or in some rare cases a full restore.

Nice video man, i orderer my digitizer on ebay for 15 and then i did it at home, they only gave me one plastic spudger, but i also used a flat head mini screw driver, it takes patience and you have to be extra carefull not to scratch the lcd screen under the glass! Other than that pretty simple fix, thanks for the video helped alot!

I think this video is very misleading. I tried to do one of these screen replacements, and never got past the first step.

The first problem is, they don't say for sure where to dig in the spudger. The second problem is, I never got the spudger in -- and I have repaired iPods and MacBooks before.

So, bully for someone that they can do this in two minutes. I can't. I am sure that most people can't. Don't buy one of these kits thinking that you can, because you probably can't.
