capitalism is good socialism is bad the reason why welfare is bad is because of the illegal aliens coming in and taking our money!!!! thats not right they need to work for money like we do i mean not everyone on welfare are illegal aliens but the ones that are need to either work or get the uck out of america and go back to mexico
Put in your due diligence and study the system. Find what it is that you can provide people. If you learn the laws of the Capitalist Class, you'll find that it is setup in favor of the Capitalist. With the Debt system that's in place now, you can't fail. There is no way to fail.
Have you read anything about socialism? santino666. Sorry. In order for capitalism to work there needs to be compitition. Competing for someones business by doing by doing a better job or service insures prices stay competitive. That is capitalism. It's when human nature; GREED,LUST get in the way and use; WARS,NAZISM,FACISM,SOCIALISM,etc. to destroy Capitalism and freedoms we should enjoy.
I don't like capitalism, but I have to admit that capitalism has brought and continues to bring innovation, advance, etc. Marx said communism had to start in an advanced country. Russia was not advanced. People in America aren't ready for communism. People nowhere are advanced enough for communism.
In the future, money will be dryer lint. The more we wash our clothes, the richer we become. Recycle your dryer lint into food and fuel today. Don't wait for the bees to disappear!! For Goodness sake people!!! I'm SERRIEEEOSS!!
OK I think your musings were %50 truth, %50 bullshit.
To put it bluntly, nobody is going to work for free.
So money will always exist. HOWEVER, what FORM the money takes will change with time. Romans were paid in salt. Gold was used up until 1933. American currency is based on faith in the U.S. economy.
In the Future, our currency may be based on units of energy, seems the most logical choice.
I have to add that I just viewed your myspace page and found out that you are 28! You ARE a pathetic loser still living with mommy and daddy. Why don't you focus your time and energy on something productive for yourself and society? Get your act together, dude!
Sounds like a lot of pseudo-intellectual bile. First off, you gave no real alternative to capitalism. Your whole claim was meaningless as it's nothing but a vague, feel-good prediction of the future.
Why does the whole world need to accept capitalism for people to move past it? You didn't explain this at all. If there is indeed some other kind of economic system that's better than capitalism, why does it make a difference whether other countries are capitalistic or not?
Let's see--"social distribution of wealth"-- sounds like communism. In the U.S. wealth is there if you chose to WORK for it. Everyone has the chance to do that.
what about family owned business's ? Why should teh government confiscate their business just becaause the founder dies. That would guarantee large corporation that they would never be challenged by new business's. The problem is corruption not wealth. No matter how much money you give to Aftican countries they will abuse it and not give it to the people that actually need it
bcj999. I've read all your comments here and it sounds like you don't truly understand what socialism really is either. Maybe you can just simply define it now. Then I can give you mine so we can compare.
Ian, instead of spending so much time and effort on the theories related to money, why not devote that time and effort to developing a plan to pay off your 30,000 plus dollar debt that you mentioned. I think you'd feel much better if you did.
See, now this confuses me - you express concern for the poor in your statement, and then here refer to a homeless person as a "bum." This is something you can explain later in a video, when your exams are done. I have an idea about you, I've watched your videos in the past and have enjoyed them - you're a good doobie.
Money is a way of order. Power for those who seek it. I>E. - save up or act toward means of aquairing something. substantial or otherwise. Things are things. Life is what it's about. Are we living like kings? Better than the kings used to. Whether you have several billions of dollars now, or a finite speck of proprietary gains is completely non essential to your being. Societal spasm or not. It's business and progress. No the world does not need to be in agreement of itself.
I admire your passion for your belief and although I strongly disagree with your point of view, I appreciate the intelligent way you present it. Thank you for a civil debate, even if you did start off by calling me an idiot. I suspect you'll do well in your exams, you're a bright guy. I look forward to your video on the subject.
Oh yikes, you should have told me from the start that you are a Communist and I never would have wasted my time trying to understand you. Appreciate your point of view and all, I just strongly disagree with Communism. Perhaps you'd be happier in China or North Korea?
Ah, a child better educated. But better educated to do what? You've already implied you don't like people using their minds or skills to make products, no matter how much they improve society.
I'm talking the software that you are directly involved with. I'm not asking what is being done on a global level. You have harsh criticism for philanthropists like Gates; I want to know what YOU are doing that makes his social efforts seem worthless.
OK, I think I'm following you now. Don't agree, but am following you. Do these open source project include operating systems and all the kinds of programs put out by Microsoft? (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Don't you think perhaps educating at risk kids and helping improve their goals and motivation would be a more direct route to solving some of society's problems? Or do you believe mass production of computer related products from profitable companies is the crux of the problem?
"There is a very real relationship, both quantitatively and qualitatively, between what you contribute and what you get out of this world." Oscar Hammerstein II
Donating blood is certainly commendable. Throwing a few bucks at Wikipedia is improving the world? Interesting. What do you to help a child not go hungry? A cold homeless person stay warm? Do your open source software projects educate young people about AIDS and pregnancy? Do they help a Mother get off welfare? Do they encourage at risk kids to focus on education and not the drug dealer?
expecting someone who has little to give to someone who has less is dispicable... also... bill gates is a symbol of all the suffering in the world under capitalism.. in order for one to be rich, many have to be poor.. that is how capitalism is designed to work. end of story. this loss is acceptable isn't it. I am not jealous, i am jsut aware of the law behind the disc.
Ah well, if you really believe what you're saying, then it only makes sense that you get rid of your computer and any products in your home or on your property that were manfucactured/sold by a profitable company. Chop Chop Georgie, trash day is tomorrow.
I am for people acting independantly. I am not about to try and or want to force people to act the way i want them too. you may think that, but i dont.
I think people should act ethically when they control such a large portion of money. Giving away things and helping people are two different things, sometimes I think they are thought to be one in the same...giving away part of his wealth is a way to "save face". I also do not see why someone who lives by a different set of ethics has to be "saving the masses" in a world like this you GOT TO save your self first...
saving your self first.... there are many ways to "save" ones self in our society... the majoirty of these ways revolve around money... which ultimately ends up trumping other peoples livelihood... a tragedy when this occurs, a tragedy no one seems to mind beccause we are still far to busy trying not to be them....this is the product of capitalism.
I didn't realize you've met Bill Gates and know with such absolute certainty precisely why he chooses to give away tens of billions of dollars from his own personal fortune.
Why give away tens of billions? Lets just talk finances. Say Gates was worth $50B and gives away $45B. He has $5 billion left. Just earning 10% on that money $500M. He would then avoid all taxes on his earnings for the next 90+ years.
And that's if he just simply gave his money away. He did not. He still has a say when and where that money is spent. It's simply a matter of taking your money out of your pocket and hiding it in your shoe. Couple that by advertising the fortune and getting Warren Buffet to do the same with his Billions and you have a nice fund that can grow tax free and unhindered by regulation. Nice trick if you can afford it.
You'll have to discuss that with Mr. Gates and his financial advisors. Personally, I think anyone who is a super genius who busts their butt and mind to develop products that VASTLY improve how we live and work is entitled to whatever fortune he/she makes as a result, and is entitled to decide for themselves how much of their fortune they choose to give away.
George I'm just trying to understand where you're coming from. Sorry, but I don't believe in the haves being obligated to give to the have nots. I spent 6 years and tens of thousands of dollars for my education that I use in a well paying job, in no way at all do I feel bad for the high school drop who parties every weekend while barely getting by making a living selling tires. Convince me why I should feel guilty for getting an education that affords me a decent lifestyle.
no way. I think guilt is a lie. I also think that being proud of our hedinistic ways while millions, if not billions of people suffer, is discusting. Wasting the earth's resources like tomorrow is your last day alive.. while those highschool drop outs continue to pop out children... and even those rich fucks, popping out yet more children.. that is discusting.. very unethical...in my opinion...
I think that the very core of our "western" culture is a huge clusterfuck of fractals. a huge clusterfuck of spiritually dead, socio and psychopathic individuals who from the very start are probably going to end up in a "no good situation".. dont feel guilty, dont feel superior to them either...everyone has something to offer, many jsut aren't able to right now, because maybe the "mold" isn't accomidating for them? I DON'T KNOW
I was reading a report about poverty in NYC and did you know that if Americans calculated poverty like Canadians do (considering the cost to live in that city or area) about 38% of New Yorks population would be living below the poverty line. There is about 7 poor people for every rich one, yet it's the rich that get all the publicy and news articles. AMAZING!
get an education and make some money there are so many programs for ppl who need them. If you don't take advantage of the programs its your own dam falt you are poor.
Capitalism is why britain, western europe and the usa are richer and better places to live than the rest of the world. Capitalsim is not perfect and has major weaknesses but it is better than socialism. Serving God is of course the only rational answer to these problems.
Never ending quest for greed? If that were true of Bill Gates he wouldn't have stepped down from running Microsoft and taken a huge cut in pay. Aside from being angry at successful companies, what are you personally doing to make a difference in the world?
And another comment by a jealous person just getting by in life. Don't hate the rich dear, lots of them work very hard for their money and many including Bill Gates give back to the world. What have you done to make a difference?
capitalism is evil, socialism is the way to go. There is no 'equality' in capitalism, if ur one dollar richer than another guy than u r one dollar 'more equal' than him.
To properly understand how the whole concept of capitalism works please watch the well documentated documentary on googlevideo called "The Money Masters".
The problem with capitalism is as it has proven 500 years ago the difference between the wichest country and the poorest was 1000:1 today it's 1000000:1 and you think that will change ? nope, it will only continue. The main weakness of capitalism is the debt backed currency it remains the illusion that spending is good for you.
money is the root to evil. money is power. power corrupts. we become greedy bastards. some starve and walk miles for food while others enjoy large cosy mansions and mercedes cars. it makes me FUCKING SICK.
Sorry again. I had no idea that wanting and working hard for nice things was somthing to be ashamed of. Quick let me just throw what little money I have out my window. joebonk, is that you out there picking up my pennies?
Well, if we were like ants and bees we wouldn't need capitalism. Unfortunately we developed a brain and figured out that we could outsmart each other to get to the top of the hill. Greed is the driving force and eventually will drive us to our own extinction.
Communists are poorer than Capitalist countries. Look at China, one of the only "successful" communist experiments. Those people are very poor and live in terrible conditions. Not only that, they have next to no rights. I'd rather be poor in a capitalist country and have my right to freedom of speach.
Someone mentioned that communists are poorer, well the same people that invented communism invented capitalism, for thesame purpose to dominate natural resources and heavyindustries, communism didin't work in the longrun so they switched to capitalism.
well, i have read it and communism have never come over step 3, prolitarian dictatorship, which sucks, I would love it to succeded but greed is the thing that is always in the way. i ahve even read das kapital first volyme and never more will i do that, i think there are 3 more but damn, that thing is fuckin horrible to read. as you probebly do know, i was a ledamot in UV before;)
Maybe you should reread. Actually Karl Marx and Friedrich Engals were employed by a group called "The League of Just Men" to update and simply apply there name to The Manifesto which was actually in circulation for many years and originally written 70 years earlier by Adam Weishaupt, the founder of "The Order of the Illuminatti". This was a group of highly secretive influencial businessmen that needed a shill to give the impression of being a workers movement. It is not.
theres never been a communist country. sure, some call themselves communist, but a communist country wouldnt have a state government or a division of labor. have any countries pulled that off? nope
Theres never been a communist country because that is never the goal. The goal is Socialism. An all powerful dictatorship run by rich internationalists to control and consolidate a nations wealth and to eliminate compitition.
I hear ya. The way I see it is there's currently a practical problem with capitalism--we never started on a level playing-field, therefore the third world can't compete or gain any real wealth (wealth they need to contribute to and invest in their communities). There needs to be some effort to integrate these countries into capitalism, and like you said, evolve from there. But first, the exponential growth of consumption has got to stop before environmental damage becomes dangerous.
this is the best video you have ever made, people never talk about capitalism yet it shapes our lives and our society at large. Great job. Remember capitalism is about social relations(domination, oppression, concentrated power), money is a reflection of that and now a mediator, not the source.
you wouldnt say those things if you knew how foolish it made you appear. do you harbor any religious beliefs mickey? isnt religion the ultimate 'koolaid' from which humanity hath drunk? do you go around calling religious people 'koolaid' drinkers?
Well from the posts I've read from this video, It's amazing to see how many people actually swallow this Socialist/Communist crap. Were going to need more Kool Aid for everybody to wash it down.
Whats ur num? Lol

santino666. Sorry. In order for capitalism to work there needs to be compitition. Competing for someones business by doing by doing a better job or service insures prices stay competitive. That is capitalism. It's when human nature; GREED,LUST get in the way and use; WARS,NAZISM,FACISM,SOCIALISM,etc. to destroy Capitalism and freedoms we should enjoy.
mickeysears 4 years ago
I don't like capitalism, but I have to admit that capitalism has brought and continues to bring innovation, advance, etc. Marx said communism had to start in an advanced country. Russia was not advanced. People in America aren't ready for communism. People nowhere are advanced enough for communism.

Culturally,
Capitalism is a farce like all other political objectives. It's a superficial leer into a more of the same process.
Whether money sticks around or not, it's meant to be spent - tax is a standard of trade & I firmly believe debt is a dramatization.
Functionality is a smile.

Michelle5451 4 years ago

Michelle5451 4 years ago
OK, I think I'm following you now. Don't agree, but am following you. Do these open source project include operating systems and all the kinds of programs put out by Microsoft? (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Don't you think perhaps educating at risk kids and helping improve their goals and motivation would be a more direct route to solving some of society's problems? Or do you believe mass production of computer related products from profitable companies is the crux of the problem?

I am for people acting independantly. I am not about to try and or want to force people to act the way i want them too. you may think that, but i dont.
wgeorgew 4 years ago
I think people should act ethically when they control such a large portion of money. Giving away things and helping people are two different things, sometimes I think they are thought to be one in the same...giving away part of his wealth is a way to "save face". I also do not see why someone who lives by a different set of ethics has to be "saving the masses" in a world like this you GOT TO save your self first...
wgeorgew 4 years ago
saving your self first.... there are many ways to "save" ones self in our society... the majoirty of these ways revolve around money... which ultimately ends up trumping other peoples livelihood... a tragedy when this occurs, a tragedy no one seems to mind beccause we are still far to busy trying not to be them....this is the product of capitalism.
wgeorgew 4 years ago
I didn't realize you've met Bill Gates and know with such absolute certainty precisely why he chooses to give away tens of billions of dollars from his own personal fortune.
Michelle5451 4 years ago
Why give away tens of billions? Lets just talk finances. Say Gates was worth $50B and gives away $45B. He has $5 billion left. Just earning 10% on that money $500M. He would then avoid all taxes on his earnings for the next 90+ years.
mickeysears 4 years ago
And that's if he just simply gave his money away. He did not. He still has a say when and where that money is spent. It's simply a matter of taking your money out of your pocket and hiding it in your shoe. Couple that by advertising the fortune and getting Warren Buffet to do the same with his Billions and you have a nice fund that can grow tax free and unhindered by regulation. Nice trick if you can afford it.
mickeysears 4 years ago
You'll have to discuss that with Mr. Gates and his financial advisors. Personally, I think anyone who is a super genius who busts their butt and mind to develop products that VASTLY improve how we live and work is entitled to whatever fortune he/she makes as a result, and is entitled to decide for themselves how much of their fortune they choose to give away.
Michelle5451 4 years ago
I think so too.
wgeorgew 4 years ago
George I'm just trying to understand where you're coming from. Sorry, but I don't believe in the haves being obligated to give to the have nots. I spent 6 years and tens of thousands of dollars for my education that I use in a well paying job, in no way at all do I feel bad for the high school drop who parties every weekend while barely getting by making a living selling tires. Convince me why I should feel guilty for getting an education that affords me a decent lifestyle.
Michelle5451 4 years ago
no way. I think guilt is a lie. I also think that being proud of our hedinistic ways while millions, if not billions of people suffer, is discusting. Wasting the earth's resources like tomorrow is your last day alive.. while those highschool drop outs continue to pop out children... and even those rich fucks, popping out yet more children.. that is discusting.. very unethical...in my opinion...
wgeorgew 4 years ago
I think that the very core of our "western" culture is a huge clusterfuck of fractals. a huge clusterfuck of spiritually dead, socio and psychopathic individuals who from the very start are probably going to end up in a "no good situation".. dont feel guilty, dont feel superior to them either...everyone has something to offer, many jsut aren't able to right now, because maybe the "mold" isn't accomidating for them? To properly understand how the whole concept of capitalism works please watch the well documentated documentary on googlevideo called "The Money Masters".
The problem with capitalism is as it has proven 500 years ago the difference between the wichest country and the poorest was 1000:1 today it's 1000000:1 and you think that will change ? nope, it will only continue. The main weakness of capitalism is the debt backed currency it remains the illusion that spending is good for you.

Communists are poorer than Capitalist countries. Look at China, one of the only "successful" communist experiments. Those people are very poor and live in terrible conditions. Not only that, they have next to no rights. I'd rather be poor in a capitalist country and have my right to freedom of speach.

It is not.

Capitalism and socialism are very broad terms.
There are lots of different types of both of them.
Sometimes there are mixtures of both like Third way or Negative freedom.
theheathyfella 4 years ago
VengefulTikiGod 4 years ago
this is the best video you have ever made, people never talk about capitalism yet it shapes our lives and our society at large. Great job. Remember capitalism is about social relations(domination, oppression, concentrated power), money is a reflection of that and now a mediator, not the source.
