They would have you believe the carcass just rots away but in fact anyone with a shred of common sense would realize the carcasses are eaten by birds and as the ice melts they slip into the water where they are consumed by all manner of creatures in the sea. Man basically rearranges the food chain a little over a short period of time.

It's a little hard for birds to eat seal-cicles. Their carcasses are frozen solid within a couple hours. Same goes for polar bears. That's why they eat "fresh" meat. I can't remember the last time I saw a polar bear using a microwave.

Animal rights groups prompted regulations which helped improve the hunt but then they also destroyed possible markets for the meat. One of the regulations that was put into place was a ban on large vessels in the hunt. Thus, minimal room and no market make it a waste of time to bring the full seal carcass back to port. Now, animal rights groups leave out this little tidbit of information when they are broadcasting their version of the utilization issue.

There was a lack of ice? yeah thats why the ferry that crosses there got stuck in ice...because there was no ice.. yeah that explains why the ferry that normally crosses in one hour and 20 minutes took 9 hours one day. O and what is he a doctor of? they never did say.. unless i missed it.. if not i want to see his cridentals and a response by someone who knows what their talking about.

Instead of crying about a few thousand seals, how about you go check out a factory hog or chicken farm, where 100 000's of animals are kept it terrible conditions their entire lived. Start doing something about the real problems, this isn't one.

I feel that the Canadian Government needs to take a strong look at what is going on with the seal hunt as it pertains to a big imortality rate of them. This year more so are less baby seal pups surviving and what is left are being slaughtered just for their fur, what is the purpose of crully killing just for that reason. We need to put an end to this as soon as possible. Also other countries need to step up and boycott any seal products int their countries as well.This torture must end now.

i agree lets stop poaching cuz thats what i see it is but global warming is not caused by people and is not caused by co2 if the ice is melting its natural and nature will evolve to fix itself and it is only the agenda of the new world order to globally tax us for something he have no control over stop poaching and stop bringing us into a global plantation
