YOU CAN DO THIS ON YOUR MAC. Just download the Pwnagetool 3.13 torrent and start it up, then choose what version (iPod/iPhone) and the software you want to restore. (You need to download, not update, the 3.1.1 firmware). It will search for the OS, then you choose to make a custom image to your desktop, and then follow this video's instructions from there. :)
