  • Hey great video! in the future can you explain why you need the karbolyn post workout even while dieting. Is that something you'll keep in your diet throughout or do you cut it at a certain point. I have been dieting now since Feb first and I have cut out all post workout shakes. I'll just rush home and have some egg whites and turkey bacon and whole wheat bread. Should I incorporate the post workout with Carbs again? Thx in advance for the advice.

  • i've been trying to research a lot about how many grams of protein you can consume in one sitting. a lot of places say usually 30-40. i assume it depends how ripped up your muscles are? always wondered because it's hard for me to get 180 grams in a day ( im 180 lbs and im seeing that for muscle building i should get around .8-1 gram per lb). would really appreciate some feedback, if not thats fine too, i know you get a lot of questions all the time.

  • I don't know how people can see J.R. is fat. I'd say looking pretty damn good for being 245-255 on a bulk. You're not supposed to be extremely cut, it's a bulk. Most people that walk around at that weight are just complete shit. You cannot compare natural, average lifters to ifbb pros.

  • I'm sorry, didn't realize strength & muscular hypertrophy weren't his desired goals... He has gotten much bigger and stronger than his first videos. He then successfully cut down & entered a competition (looked pretty good)... N Over this past off season, got larger than the one before... Pretty sure that's the goal there guy...

  • @barthelfitness I been taking creatine for about four weeks now and I just had someone recently tell me that I should cycle it instead of just taking it constantly. They said it should go

    week 1: loading phase

    Week2-4: maintenance

    Week 5: off

    And just keep cycling that what's your thoughts on this?

  • There have been several studies which show that amino acids consumed with carbohydrates have a positive anabolic effect when consumed before and after resistance training. It has also been shown that amino acids consumed pre and post workout are more effective than whey protein. That last study was done in 2007 by the University of Texas. So, taking BCAAs along with other essential amino acids pre and post workout should have a positive anabolic effect... for those wondering.

  • Wow...I weigh 205 and have 20% body fat and I eat the same way you do. Right now I am cutting getting 250 g protein, 100 carbs, and 125 g fats....2700 cals....looks like I might wanna go down to 2500 cals.........

    The high glycemic index of white rice consumption is the consequence of disrupting the physical and botanical structure of rice grains during the refining process. The other consequence of the refining process includes loss of fiber,vitamins, magnesium and minerals, lignans, phytoestrogens, and phytic acid, many of which may be protective factors for diabetes risk.

    I eat a lot of rice and i don't want diabetes. brown it is.

  • @johnnysmack7 He said LONG grain white rice is similar in GI to brown rice not all white rice in general. Look up the GI of Basmahti rice which is a LONG grain WHITE rice, its GI is very much the same as brown rice if not lower.

I about 99% of the time buy fresh chicken, but the other times when I have frozen its usually around 20% of the daily intake of sodium per piece..   • @attykid91 well depends on what your goals are - but for simple example - I do about 3-4 days of cardio 15-20 minutes / interval style! typically stick with ellitpical and stair stepper!

  • hey mr. barthel, isn't white rice a fast digesting carb? wouldn't a brown rice be better for you if you want to lose weight since it is a slow digesting carb?

  • People worry about sodium because 1. They may have high blood pressure through genetics or due to their past diet or body weight, and a high sodium diet with increase the risk of Hypertension. 2. Sodium increases water retained in the body and puts pressure on your heart if you consume too much sodium your increasing the chances of heart problems later on in your life. So basically, there is extremely good benefits of having a low sodium diet.
