  • I have this processor on an asrock 880-gm le an I was able to unlock the 4th core in bios I ran prime 95 overnight and it was fine CPU z detects it as phenom ii x4 now

  • Check out my unboxing of the amd athlon II x3 450 guys! /watch?v=DsL9QHNY-yg

  • I was wondering if a AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core CPU would be a good match for a M2N68-AM mother board and a sapphire ATI 5750 Vapor X GPU.

  • you're HT Link is 2000.0 MHz mine is 803.0 MHz and im using Athlon II x3 435...is there some problem whit my processor?

  • @Vlada955 If you are running a new motherboard you have a fucntion enabled on it which reduces the power consumption while in idle to save power and consume less. As a result, HT Link, core clock and multipliers are reduced. Don't worry, it's all running well :D

  • sg03 is a great case, oen of my favorites, but it's very overpriced unfortunately.

  • this is the best gaming cpu for the price

  • wait... i searched on newegg and its says am3 socket? i am confused... :s

  • is this good for gaming

  • Is there a possibility to unlock a amd athlon ii x3 445?

From a triple core to quad?

  • @bramovitz yes

  • @wmp89 thanks, but by now i found out myself

  • So you under-clocked your DDR3 ram?

  • @FREAK9364 you have to if the multiplier isnt unlocked. if not then it will be unstable.

  • the title says am3, but cpu z says am2+ or am i seeing something not really correct

  • @Flamable3000 its a am3 cpu, possibly he used it in a am2+ mobo!?!

  • will a micro ATX motherboard fit in my pc case ? i now have a ATX installed

  • ive been on newegg surfing around to check this product ...

and they all talked about unlocking the 4th core?

is tha teven possible? its not a black edition how did they do it?

    im confused....

  • @benny125874

ive surfed around a little more...

and they said they turned this normal athlon ii x3 into a phenom ii x4

    by enabling the L3 cache

... its not black edition HOW DID THEY DO IT?

    please and thank you :3

  • hi , how do you overclock your cpu?

  • I really wish people would learn how to use google.

  • just bought the same chip. what did you do to get the cores at 100%?

  • performance v.s. price amd is king, bank breaking performance Intel is robbing you

  • ummm i have aaaaaaaa big question the default cooler or heatsink comes with the motherboard?????with the cpu?????? or do you have to buy one???

  • @degaboss The CPU Cooler comes together with the CPU.

The only one that doesn't have inside the box and you have to buy one yurself, is Intel Core i7 875K.

  • Awesome budget CPU!

  • how are u geting all the information about everything, special program

    ? please and thanks anyone

  • i got the 425

    gonna OC to 3GHz

also going to undervolt to run cooler

  • You use too much "ummm ok?" and it gets really really annoying. Other than that is ummm ok,

  • I have manged to undervolt this CPU to 1.22 Volts! I have stressed test thisCPU at this voltage in prime95. Very stable!

  • IO have the X3 440. Great processor. I got it running w/ 4 gigs of DDr3 @ 1333mhz with a gtx 280. Great for us who are on the budget :)

  • This CPU runs 3.5 MHz on stock cooler.

    Really super fast CPU.

Install better memory and you can run even 3.8 Mhz

  • Comment removed

  • Very nice CPU! It's better than Core 2 Duo and cheaper! Very good choice for a budget gaming PC! :D

That proves that Intel sucks, although C2D are old...

  • @mchlor wow come to think of it, that is exactly right

  • This processor can be unlocked? Answear please

  • @Reaper23026 Yes, in the BIOS you can unlock the fourth core.

Depends on what MOBO you have , My MOBO has a core unlock option.

  • @Reaper23026 wtf you sayd?

    LOL

  • what did you use to find out the cpu temp? was it core temp?

  • @ChaosYugiTube google

  • ok nw i dnt want to buy a cpu cooler so is the factory fan nice ???

i heard amd gets hot very fast.

  • @DeAmoN9TaileDFoX it's all thin aluminum (including the base) unless you get AMD's top of the line quad or hexa core CPUs. If you do get AMD's top of the line CPU, then you get copper heatpipes, as well as a cookie.

  • @Hunter50006 so if i dnt buy a cpu cooler will this b cool i will not b overclocking.

  • @DeAmoN9TaileDFoX Well it'd be as cool as an moderately heavy overclocked CPU on an aftermarket cooler.

  • @Hunter50006 hmmm, thanks bro m yet deciding its over 1 month and m still deciding wat parts to buy :-( sad for me.

  • would this work for gaming? eg oblivion and fallout?

  • Is it safe to increase the Bus Speed to 232MHz? What's the furthest I could go without pushing it too far?

  • I've unlocked the 4th core today and works great. Now it is a PhenomII X4 B35

    I'm running vista 64bit with 4gb corsair 1333Mhz

  • @pisrits how to unlock the 4th core?

  • @Reaper23026 ASUS has a core unlocker feature on some of their new 8xx series motherboards.

  • @Reaper23026 In the bios of the mainboard you'll be able to unlock the core.

  • I wasn't able to unlock the 4th core and on a high end HSF I could overclock only to 3.2 (12 hour stable on Prime95)

  • got this same cpu and unlocked the fourth core on my msi 790gx mobo and running and 3.5MHz and stable at 35-45 Celsius...

  • didn't know overclocking is that easy

  • I think its not bad

  • I've got this proccesor and I tested with Everest's benchmark. Results(on AMD 780G chipset):

    -Memory Read: 7927Mb/s

    -Memory Write: 6880Mb/s

    -Memory Copy: 9030Mb/s

    -Memory Latency: 52.5ns

  • it amazes me how many stupid questions people have. if you don't understand certain things like compatibility or what is better, you should not be investing your time into building your own computer. this is why people think such things like its mandatory to have 4gb of ram for playing games when in windows xp, 2gb is proven to be enough for any game. so much money is wasted on the most unnecessary things, which is why i like amd so much because you don't ever waste your money

  • i am a intel fan, the only thing that bugs me is there price to performance, amd blows them away on that well most of the time... how ever i just dont trust amd even though there isnt really any thing wrong with them haha, all well if intel lowered there prices they would probably blow by amd even more, good video as always

  • hey what is better phenom II 550 or athlon II x3 435

  • The Athlon II X3 435! I have the Athlon II X4 620 2,6 GHz!

  • @clkdragzta

man Phenom II x2 100times better!

Get and dont think abbaut Athlon II x3,x4

  • hey, I have the 435 and love it, I was able to unlock the 4th core and it runs just as good as the other 3 cores..

The 550 can be unlocked but it's more of a risk of it not working properly. I'm not sure about overclocking the 550 but my 435 hit 3.8 so far :D

  • Hey PCWIZ.. Athlon II x3 425 2.7ghz able to handle HD5850 card?? I decide to get HD5850 for my II x3 425 system :)

  • yes it can i was putting a 5850 with a athlon ii x2 245 and that could handle it its not a low end cpu

  • what is this program you are using to change bus speed?

  • Hi, how does this processor rate to the phenom ii x2 550 black edition processor?

  • The phenom II is probably faster for most programs since a lot of programs don't use more than 2 cores. The athlon II X3 is faster on benchmarking programs but not by much

  • No. The Phenom II X2 is being seriously held back by the fact that it only has two cores, and if you didn't know, most games take advantage of 3 cores, but not 4. This is why AMD priced the Phenom II X3 as a budget CPU for gamers.

On older games that are poorly threaded, the Phenom II X2 will be faster. On newer games that support multi-threading (as in, games made from 2008 to now), the Athlon II X3 will be faster.

You can check reviews for this.

  • Athlon II x4 >Phenom II x2 550 )

  • Isnt there a way to unlock the fourth core?

  • Comment removed

  • @RottenRroses

    There is.

You need the Mainboard that support "CPU ACC" to unlock the fourth core, or even the L3 cache for some that have it.

  • Comment removed

  • how is this compared to Phenom II 545 ? Answear please

  • @alynr1972, the Athlon II X3 435 is faster than the Dual Core 545

  • @PCWizKid is it better than the Phenom II X2 550?

  • @alynr1972 phenom X2 545 is better especially in games

  • Meh, I'm getting a

    AMD Phenom II X4 940 3 GHz SKT AM3

  • below is from my low end rig.

    sorry about so many comments.

  • voltages arent important.. geez..

  • wow... thats high stock voltage for 45nm... wow higher than my load voltage on Prime95 with a 65nm e2200 which is 1.28 volts

  • but intels duals are comparable to AMDs triples... like the pentium e6500

  • by your name I can see you're a intel fanboy....

  • AMD is doing pretty good lately i might even switch back to them

  • which is faster?

    Athlon II x4 2.6ghz

    or

    Phenom x4 2.3ghz??

  • are you a dumb ass bcz that are freq of a phenom 9500 2.3 ghz and a athlon ii x3 435 is the same as phenom 9950 as shown in the video so obviosly athlon ii x4 620 is faster

  • @miks2875

    A X4 2.6 is faster then X4 2.3

    But...

    A X4 2.0

    Is better then a X2 2.7

  • Depends on the program you run. A program that can utilize more than 2 cores will make use of the 4x2GHz better than the 2x2.7GHz.

Of course, this only holds true under CPUs of the same line.

  • Your statement is both true and false.

The Quad would be better than the dual in multithreaded applications, but in less multithreaded programs (such as most games), a higher clocked dual would perform better.

  • T-T cannada's prices r so high compared to usa's

  • what do you think is more important ??

CPU Frequency or L12,3 CACHE ?

  • l3 cache isnt that big of a deal, Freq. is more important MOST of the time(when comparing AMD vs AMD and INTEL vs INTEL)

  • whats intel doing just increasing the clock speed by like 100mhz and releasing a new processor until 3.8ghz they should at least release a new architecture with ht or something to compete with it.I release the 2/3/4 processor releases are to have lower prices but it seems so lame seeing how the cache never exceed 6mb yet for the x4 cpus

  • X4 is better overalll

  • Inter is better that AMD

  • athlon x4 has higher benchmark scores but the phenom iix3 has more L2 cache, overclocks easier (black edition) and is just generally better for gaming. also if u get the right chipset/mobo (i forget which one sorry), it is possible to unlock a 4th core on the phenom iix3 because really all they are is a IIx4 with one core disabled

  • phenom iix3

  • intel FTW

  • Phenom IIx3

  • i rate 5 stars

  • can you just install a new CPU and not have anything change on your current CPU?

  • yes, you can,but if u have it overclocked its always nice to reset the bios to default b4 changing hardware

  • u sound more sad then your other vids ..

  • he actually does....

  • Great Review

  • Nice! For $90 U get a GREAT CPU! Good video! 5/5

  • Good review, thanks, thorough. 5/5 Love your Vids, keep it up :P

  • Does this have the unlockable through software 4th core? Lots of them do.

  • awesome vid! but what do you look like? lolol!

    thanks for posting

  • try compare it with i7 extreme

  • i7 is a quad core

  • Can i ask wich program you use at 0:52 to show the temperatures of the cpu ?

  • Well it says "core temp" on the background...

  • pcwizkid MAKE MORE! :)

  • I'm confused! I have the same CPU, I haven't touched the voltage and it's apparently 1.425 volts (in AMD Overdrive)? And CPU-Z shows 1.5 volts! And no, I haven't done "auto overclocking", I have only raised the reference clock to 225.

  • @videosurfer69, that means you have a CPU bios setting causing this, you should reset the BIOS settings if your not sure what to look for.

  • good.

  • good vids as usual ;) and about voice everything okay sounds good to me i am not from english national countries and understand everything he sad

  • Most of us are not fantasizing about the guy behind the voice... We're fantasizing about the hardware he reviews. And in that respect PCWizKid can't be beat here on youtube.

    Keep 'em coming PCWizKid!

  • This is truly a great review

    Thank you .

  • great cpu!

  • If you have Micro Center near by your place you could get i5 750 for $150.00...

    Athlon II X2, X3 & X4 is all crap...

  • Too bad the nearest microcenter to me is about 400 miles...GTFO FANBOY

  • i7 920 for $200 at micro center

  • Nice, it costs 250 euros here in Belgium, thats 372 dollars.

  • Honestly how is he meant to change his voice? faggot

  • @andrewsmc if you hav ever heard a 11 years old with a voice like that xD

porbably that guy had some voice issues

  • Cough* Athlon II x4 is better *Cough

  • wat about the amd athlon x2 64 i dare u 2 review that

  • It depends, around 60 degrees..

  • cool

  • i got the amd phenom 2 X4 945 quad processor 3.0 ghz stock

  • Just get a AMD athlon 2 X4 620 @ 2.6ghz

  • buen videoo

  • Hey i need help, well i was on my other computer then it reset randomly and then i turned it on and it said" BOOTMGR" is missing ... now i tried recovery disk but it did not work, i had back ups on the computer but my harddrive now says it has nothing on it, nothing at all, ANY HELP!!??!?!??!?

  • Is amd better than intel?

  • for its price yeah i guess soo. but intel is better peformances

  • amd is more effenent

    gears of war 1

    2.4ghz intel

    2.0ghz amd

  • Umm... what you mean by more efficient?

Intel's chips are better performers per MHZ than AMD.

Of course you pay for that.

  • By efficient i mean the processor does more per clock-cycle.

Look up- to use an intel chip to run gears one you need more processing power than an amd chip

  • efficient you mean? yeah it uses less watts and cheap good for budget users the 965BE (C3) is coming soon with 125w same features but low Watts

  • it's been out for a bit now

  • since when did it came out? cuz i don't see it in stores anywhere...i hope your not talking about the 965BE 140... cuz there is a 140w 965BE and there is a 125w 965BE (C3) and it's the same price as the 955

  • @needarb in terms ofpower no

but price/performance yeah by a few bucks

    still intel is boos kid

  • Intel is better, but you'll get more for your money with an AMD.

  • How can Intel be better if in your opinion, you get more from your money with AMD ???

  • Agreed.... Totally hypocritical statement. I laughed when I read that.

  • How can Intel be better if in your opinion, you get more from your money with AMD ???

  • How is intel better if you need more power with an intel chip to run programs?

  • Hyper treading

  • we need to have pcwizkid anser the quetion once and for all

  • Great video, and thanks for the help PCWizKid

  • nevermind I see it CPU-Z lol I am dummmmmmb

  • What program is that? the one that shows the heat and stuff (the first program you started with)

  • hd version?

  • @domonas , coming soon, you need to wait for youtube to process it. Give it 5min.

  • haha wiz kid

    Jiz kid

  • lol

  • cool!
