  • Amazing isn't it !! This shows you what a master Freddie was with such a diverse range. George Michael, Roger Daltrey, Elton John, Axl Rose,Joe Elliot, Robert Plant, Annie Lennox, Gary Cherone, Lisa Stansfield, Liza Minnelli, and I know there are more voices doing Queen songs. Just wonderful ! :)

  • This is absolutely fantastic! He is a bloody amazing singer. i was never a big fan of his but looking back...what a voice!

  • You don't seem to see pilchards for sale in the shops these days.

  • Bowie and Seal looking and watching George Michael rehearse.... They look like they are shitting themselves after this performance! Little did they know that it was going to be even better on the night of the gig!!

  • Amazing, from April of 1992 still a top 10 greatest on Youtube

  • I searched this out after George mentioned it on his twitter page. This is brilliant - so effortless and cool!

  • Thank you so much for uploading this, I recognize it over and over again: he is the best living pop singer, at least for me :)

  • älskar denna mannen :))

  • No autotune required for this man...especially at 3:39...wow

  • He is wonderful at singing other people's songs. I love his version, i remember seeing the concert on tv and thinking he did it so much justice.

  • This song passes only to George Michael. That's great.

  • SPOT ON

  • Even in rehersals it sounds incredible. Michael should have taken on the job as new frontman. The transition from Mercury to Michael would have been seamless.

  • You know you're a bad-ass when David Bowie and Seal are groovin' on your practice session

  • かっこいい しびれた

  • かっこいい

  • i love how david bowie enjoys the performance... just great!!

  • I dont believe dat any1 can ever be as good as freddie... but george did this pretty well! =D

  • I love the swagger...and David Bowie clapping for him..

  • @z731a ?

  • What a great talent! bless u George

  • Da wurden selbst Seal und David blass,so siehts aus.

  • My tears just falling

    It cant bee better

  • My tears just falling

  • Thamk you Whamerica for this !

  • Absolutely brilliant. Just look at David Bowie and Seal watching this rehearsal and enjoying it. Even if you are not a fan of George Michael, you have just got to admit that this is the best tribute to Freddie Mercury and what a great artist George really is.

  • @ajittffcure

yes, GM is an Amazing artist! His live performance of this song was so perfect.

  • The only guy I feel can fill the gap left by Freddy, George has a great voice and as you can see George has a natural ability to fill he void

  • an EXTREMELY difficult song to sing... and sang very well by geogios

  • Two morons didn't like that.

  • @mafreire11 That's a bit harsh. No matter how good this is, to some people, Queen without Freddie just isn't acceptable. I think George did a great job here but I can understand some people not being that happy.

  • @mafreire11 david & seal? :D

  • Did George perform any other Queen songs during this show? I can totally hear George performing "Another One Bites The Dust" and "Body Language" and pulling it off quite brilliantly well . . .

  • @DaftSwank I Wish he did one damn good job with this

  • That's Seal next to Bowie? Thought it was Whoopi Goldberg

  • If you wanna download this mp3 go to dopemp3s doht cohm.

  • No pudieron escoger a alguien mejor para interpretar esta majestuosa cancion. GEORGE MICHAEL THE #1

  • Heh, is that David Bowie at 3:13?

  • @whiterottenrabbit

yeah and thats seal next to him.

    seal looks crazy with dreads

  • bad sound

  • @AlvaroRome89 You know NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING, about vocals if you state that. Fucking idiot, choke on your own leftovers.

  • Two dislikes...Hahaha

    Dicks XD

  • fucking true talent

  • Wow, he is excellent!

  • holy crap...he's singin' the shit outta this, even in rehearsal. bowie is diggin it! what a masterful cover. gorgeous, strong voice as always.

  • i like this version sooooo much better than the original!!!

both the orchestration and George make the song absolutely awesome:))))))))))

  • el mejor intérprete de somebody to love y de cualquier canción de Freddie el único que lo puede hacer la mejor voz después de Freddie

  • i remember watching the tribute concert and i was like whaaatttt George Michael gonna sing "Somebody to Love"?!?! No way he can't touch that song...and ya know what...he really surprised the $h!t outta me. IMO he was THE best performance of that concert, i mean the vocals itself--wow! maybe annie lennox/david bowie performance comes in a close second then..well gary cherone(sp?) doing "hammer to fall". yeah that'd be it. oh yeah i liked lisa stansfield's performance too "i want to break free"

  • why did you even click to watch this video then?

fuck you and your crap about gay people , hope you get hit by a bus , it won't be a loss to anyone

your mother should have aborted you

  • your father is your mother you crawled out of his ass you piece of shit.

  • go suck your father's cock and drink his cum you gay hermaphrodite

  • How can anybody be so full of hate???

And where's your dignity???GM might be gay but he sure has lots of it. If there were more persons like him in the world, gay or not cause that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with it, it would be a far more better place to live on.You realy must be ashamed of yourself but that, obviously, is wishfull thinking! George Michael was, is and will always be my all time favourite no matter what happens. He's brilliant! He brings so much joy into (most )people's hearts.

  • I hate the fact that he's gay and on drugs

I liked his music in the late 80s / early 90s

  • @housepacific24 you know what they say - people who talk most shit about gay ppl are usually gay themselves, cheers :)

  • I think you're gay

  • @housepacific24 nope, im not gay, but i have nothing against gay ppl, and i have a feeling there is a gay dude inside u dying to come out, haha

  • not true. liked his music but I feel sorry for him now

  • @housepacific24 Why are you sorry for Freddy? You should be thankful that he lived

  • I remember that i was surprised at first when i saw this rehearsal....i saw him singing that song in front of the audience in 1992,i saw on tv but i can honestly that he lets us know that he was born to shine so bright when u see THIS VIDEO! ...no matter if he doesn't sell his new albums RECENTLY but he anyway rocks on stage,no doubt 'bout it! he always has! ...greetings from Venezuela-Barquisimeto City!

  • This gives me chills down my spine!!! I love this man more than I can handle!! Listen to this voice...BEAUTIFUL, most just can't really sing this good!! He is a legend..love you George always since I was a little girl and I'm 35 now and still in love with him!

  • but you sucked many cocks since then

  • If you listen closely, you will find that GM isn't singing the word LOVE, after bringing his voice in the high register... Live, at the concert, he did the same thing, but the gap was filled by the concert crowd. If you look at Bryan May's expression there, you will find him laughing and very happy with the singing of the song.

PS: At the concert, GM sang it much better, but still he sang it beautifully here, he is God.

  • Seal looked bored. Bowie seemed to enjoy the song.

  • LOoK at how they have the back up singers segregated... somebody call Obama...

  • AMAZING!!

  • My god, i just love this man

i dotn care what anybody says about him

he will always be #1 to me.

    Godd bless Gm =] <3

  • To you!! "wink"

  • They can just say he's gay :D

GM as artist is a great ;) I think nobody can say differently.

  • If that's all they can say...

    he is fantastic.

  • Great voice!!!!!

  • A True Pro! Musos will notice that George was one of the only singers that could reach Freddies notes. Axl Rose was the only other who managed the same vocal range.

(Ok, at 3.42 George goes into his upper register and cheats a tad)

Not a bum (as it were) not to be head.

True to form, David Bowie is sucking on a Marlboro...

  • At that point, he's SUPPOSED to go into the falsetto register :S

  • i will never be a fan of George Michael, I will never like him, but this is amazing... Esp the actual live performance is really something..

  • and why not?? :))

  • Brian looks so happy (:

    George rocks!!!!

  • What a pro.

  • Look at the faces of Seal and David Bowie... they cant believe what they hear!!!

  • George is great! He has one of pop's greatest voices just loke Freddie had. And G.M. still has a cute butt!lol

  • Wow... this was truly one of George's best performances. He says so himself in "A Different Story".

No wonder Brian and Rodger asked him to be their singer! I understand why he turned them down, but to be asked by them... what an honor!

  • @ash9445 Where did you get this information about George asked to sing for Queen? I can't find it on the Internet... I mean, if it's true, it is no surprise, cause only George can do justice for Freddy.

  • sin duda una de las mejores voces alcanza notas altisimas

  • Ah, he didn't sing the 'looooooooove' bit, like in the concert. They must have guessed the crowd would fill in. No wonder Brian smiled.

  • not the sync is off. its live. in rehearsal

  • OUTSTANDING GM! Miss You Freddie

  • This man can sing!!!!!! A++++++.

  • and you look in the background and david bowie and seal are clapping then that itself says something :)

  • and then I say: why the hell call Paul Rodgers to perform with them all around the world? Dang it... Some things in this world we will never understand.

  • thats right! I cannot understand it either

  • Because George Michael sings similar to Freddie and Paul doesn't and no one would want to try and recreate Freddie after he'd died

  • if there is some1 on earth who can sing this song its George Michael!!! im sure Freddy would say that too...miss u Freddy

  • I normally don't like Queen covers, but I can't say no to George Michael. :) I also like that he doesn't try to imitate Freddie like most other crappy covers.

  • I was surprised with the super performance of George Michael. I think he must to be respected. Great voice. The best in the Tribute Concert to Freddie Mercury.

  • @canteiros62 i think the best tribute was the tributo of extreme for queen you've better watch it

  • He is doing concerts now dummy! George is awesome in this song. He looks so damn sexy, and is voice is untouchable!!

  • that is awesome GREAT LOVED IT WISH GEORGE MICHAEL WAS DOING CONCERTS NOW

  • This is a great cover for the memory of freddy

  • Two of my favourites, George Michael and Seal (behind)

  • Panos1963 I don't have to justify myself for my opinion and I absolutely don't have to show you any evidence of anything. What I said is my opinion and I can express my opinion whenever I want. And apart from that I have nothing more to say.

  • Lady DON'T LISTEN TO THOSE JEALOUSY IDIOTS!!

u have said the right thing and GM IS BIG & WILL ALWAYS REMAIN BIG AND ONE OF THE MOST BRILLIANT ARTISTS ON EARTH ..

Those silly little guys r jealous of him becoz he's SOOOOO DAMN HOTTT and he has it ALL :)

    So plzz DON'T EVER GIVE THEM A SHIT ! :) :)

  • @Panos1963 Bowie is a good singer, period.

  • Of course I have ears! And you know what? I have eyes, too! Any further questions?

  • Well, then I am exactly just like you!

  • @LadyScreaming

Shut the f**k up.Both Dave and George are amazing-for me,they are 2 of the best singers ever.

  • and this was a rehearsal??

  • this rehearsal for the Freddy Mercury tribute is 3/27/1992.!

  • This was really good.

Of course, no one compares t Freddie, but George Michael certainly did the song justice. :)

  • this guy is just amazing...for over 25 years

  • They fit together perfectly!

  • I've never seen this before, it's great where did you get this??

  • I think that the one who should be the lead singer (and bass player) now with Roger and Brian is Tim..

But George Michael would be great too.. better than Paul Rodgers i think

    Does anyone agree ??

  • I agree with you about George Michael (:

  • bellissima!

  • kncoked it out of the park even rehearsing it

  • George Michael tendria q ser el remplazante de Freddy sin dudas!!!!!

  • i don't know... don't ask me... but i wouldnt mind doing it

  • you wish!!!

  • all I have to say about that is: L O L

  • look at duke David..he was surely thinkin .."this guy has a damn great voice..he can sing somebody to love!" ;)

nothin beats the original it's true!but if not Freddie (rip) ..only George can sing it

    damn well!

  • Nothing beats the original, but he gets darn close! *thumbs up*

  • it was 1992, not 1991

  • Who is aside of Bowie?

    a PREDATOR? :P

  • its Seal

  • No, it was seal. But he could be "lol"

  • Maan, that's the weirdest looking seal I ever saw... Oh, wait, you mean a singer, Seal, OK, I got it.

  • LOL..... sorry, its just Seal.

  • nice

  • The only artist who can do justice to a Freddie Mercury vocal Queen song.

I love George Michael for this

  • agreed

  • is 1992.!

  • And actually... Bowie is not singing... He is chewing something....

  • k???? lol

  • i remember being in the elevator 10 years ago, in century city, CA. going up to 10th floor, at 4th or 5th floor the elevator door opened george michael walked in, i trying so hard to be cool and not say anything! that that just lasted one minute. i just said george i'm not gay but i love you. he smiled and gave me a hug.he was on his way to see his manager on the top floor.

  • Nice!!!! Gay or not, he is a terrific performer :D

  • Awesome! George Michael became a caricature of himself, and he made fun of that in his videos. But his voice is near Freddie. Noone can beat Freddie, but I would LOVE a GM/Queen deal.

  • George Michael was watching Bowie's rehearsal. So why Bowie can't watch Michael's? :))))

  • He was, and he did. Go 3 minutes deep and you'll see.

  • Maybe it was jealous:-@

  • did ya not see him he was at 3:14 singing along:D

  • Guys, I SAW Bowie singing along... don't worry. My comment was ironic....

  • George Michael - GOD LIKE GENIOUS!!

    Respect!!!!

    and - hats down!!!!!

  • Cool Story; I'm at a 7-Eleven near SMU in North Dallas, the guy in back of me has the coolest english accent. I look back after about 20 seconds, it's George Michael. I could not help myself, I told him I have big a big fan for years, he said thank you, shook my hand and tapped me on the shoulder. Later found out on-line he lives part-time in Dallas with his partner. That was a cool moment.

  • lucky you!

  • *gasp* Lucky..

  • @johnnybars

    Lucky you!

  • George is much better than Paul Rogers..

  • I completely agree. I went to the Queen concert in Toronto, and all I kept thinking during Paul Rodgers parts was that while I wish Freddie were here George Michael would be the next best thing to fill his shoes.

  • WOW, rehearsals as great as the live performances time and time again, what an incredible artist George is. His range and voice is priceless. I LOVE GEORGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Indeed this is better than the concert. But the theory is confirmed at 3:44. Why, George, why didn't you take that risk and got that Twisted Voice Scale done! You would have been a hero! It may had been taken 100 reps at slow motion but it is not impossible. You needed Freddies pair!

  • That was a easy one for George, It was far more difficult to do that high tune George does, the "twisted voice" part was meaned for the audience, that's all.

  • Im sorry, I have to strongly disagree with you. You cant argue that a sustained high tune is harder than begining in a higher tune and then having to move fastly from this note to a down arpeggio at that part. Nobody can deffend that point

  • love george michael!!!

  • I Will Love Him Forever!!! Seriously!!!

  • I saw him first...lol

    I adore him.
