  • Get a bra you fat fag

  • Yeaaaaah!

  • hey i was wondering if this synth patch is on the mini-KP as well. kind of having a hard time figuring it out for sure.

  • yes it's on the miniKP too. I think the 91, but not sure

  • Bewbs

  • chaosgragon44,,, Get a synth mate. As much as I love this tool you will get instant creative. Then after that by all means Get the KP3 as shown above. In my own onion.

  • do you have to use all those wires? I don't want to spend an extra $200 on other stuff

  • just a normal amount of wires--stereo out a monitor amp which was plugged into the camera...

  • so i am thinking about getting a synthesizer or the mini kp3 about $300 is my limit i want to know what is best. plz help :)

  • @chaosgragon44 if you want a SYNTHESIZER look into the dave smith MOPHO for around that price (used and demo models can be pretty inexpensive) if you want an EFFECTS PROCESSOR to make things sound SYNTH-Y and mangle loops and such then get the kaoss pad. they are two completely different relms. now you could run a synth into the KP and that wold lead to awesomeness

  • as that like as in the television ones

  • aaah some mushrooms with that sound and u be fully trippin.

  • excellent idea!

  • God. why do you druggies have to assosciate anything a bit 'out there' with getting drugged up? surely it can't be good enough if you need something extra for a 'good time'.

  • it's called experimenting. you don't know what it's like until you tried it. and i'm not reffering to drugs i'm reffering to basic principles of science

  • yeah! I love this psy trance riff =)

  • Good work, really like this vid!!!!

  • it's a joke

  • This basically sold me on getting a Kaoss pad. I had been thinking about getting one, but had only seen videos of lame sounds and drum patterns.

Grainy, crazy sounds are what I'm interested in, and this video impressed me.

    Nice job.

  • yep. i have to say this video was the dealbreaker for me wanting to buy one. & i hope to purchase it in the near future.

  • hey gregoryburrows - this is definatley one of the more interesting videos about kp3 online ive seen (im researching it before i shell out for one - i use an mpc and want it for effects) youve done a nice job here by making somehting from very basic building blocks (less is more). are the other factory synth settings any good? also, is it true that you cant add effects to jsut one sample at a time? the manual is quite lacking in infomation... peace al

  • hello, thanks for your kind words. Factory synth settings are good for what it is but I find the "drum" synth patches to be pretty horrible/harsh. The levels are pre-set pretty hot so be careful, you can blow a speaker--I don't even use 'em (ironic, since I'm a drummer). I think u r right, can't manipulate effects on individual sounds but the touch pad offers excellent 'mutation' possibilities.

  • Cool stuff. How can u make this sound in cubase or any other software like that?

  • I'm not sure--I'm tech-challenged--anybody else got an answer for officialemvy?

  • ya you could make this sound in logic or cubase with a sampler plug in or a synth with a noise oscillator. you'd need a glide (portmento) setting also.

  • yea i actually figured it out.. basically sidechaining white noise will do the job

  • put a bandpass over white noise. experiment with the filter settings

  • not bad! i like the part where you go into triplets. also, if you take off the delay and run it through distortion effects, you've got yourself some nice hardstyle screeches!

  • that's a great idea, will have to try than -- thanks! -Greg B

  • meant to say "I'll have to try THAT"

  • cool. i am going to have to get KP3 for this feature alone.

  • cool. i am going to have to get the KP3 for this feature alone.

  • yeah, it's good fun -- you can change the tempo with that pulse/tempo feature on the KP3, so you can adjust the tempo easily in a live situation for example.

  • this is a great demonstration.

i have the KM2 & it's fine, but i have also been wanting to buy white noise generator effects pedals. the KP3 would consolidate a lot of things for me.

  • When you say "patch". Is it an actual patch you downloaded from the web, or just a preset.

  • It's a factory-loaded preset but I believe it's referred to as a 'patch' for the KP. -Greg B

  • Just bought mine! One of the coolest toys I even bought :)

The white noise jam was very nice. Maybe I'll put something of my own online when I get good enough too :)

BTW I paid 250 euros. Actually the store sold the KP3 for 350 euro and the KP2 for 250, so I chose the KP2 for money reasons, but the clerc made a mistake and gave me the KP3 anyway! LOL saved me a hundred bucks right there.

  • I'm sure you are 'good enough' SadBunny. Just fiddle around with it, True creativity is merely exploration anyway.

  • Why thanks, thats nice of you to say.

  • that is so awesome!! how much was that??

  • thanks! I think I paid about $400 USD for it last year, maybe it's avail. for less now?

  • thats so sick!

does it come with the white noise synth patch

  • thanks! yes, there are a couple of built-in white noise patches in the KP-3 and a bunch of other cool effects. Cheers-GregB

  • thanks, that was very inspiring for my dubstep mix that I'm jamming on my KP3 right about now.

  • alright! Why not video yourself and put it up on YouTube?

  • Because i havent got a camcorder ;)

  • good answer! But no doubt you have a friend/relative with a camcorder...

  • so can that be plugged into an amp or a pa

  • yeah, amp or pa--be really careful with the drum sounds in the KP3, start out w/ a low volume, you can blow a speaker or an eardrum if you're not careful, they are tweaked up a bit too much.

  • true that....

  • sounds awesome...

  • i might get one of these. Do they come with sounds in it? or do you have to put them in through a comp?

  • yeah, it does come with 99 patches, and about half of those produce a sound like the one you hear above. You an also plug a mic into it directly and process voice, instruments and whatever you can imagine!

  • cool!

  • where did you get the patch from?

i've a KP3 and have been looking for ages for any kind of downloadable mods

  • hello, the patch is one of the internal KP3 playable 'white noise' patches. The only mod I've found is from Korg website, a software update, no big deal. If you find any new sounds/mods please let me know (post here or "Comments" on my YT channel). Thanks, GregB

  • yeah i've got the software update it allows polyphonic sample playback etc.

can you explain where to find the patch

  • The patch is called can be dialed up as "SYn. 9" and it's called Noise Tone, from KP3's bank of 10 synth patches. It's one of the 'playable' patches (as opposed to merely an effects patch) and the fun really starts when you set the BPMs to your liking and play around with the rhythms as I did in the vid. Hope that helps.

  • cheers mate

  • nice dude, nice. i wouldnt mind having an mp3 of this.

  • that's ok by me. You might be able to grab it right from the audio of the vid., it's recorded in stereo. Thanks for your interest.

  • Nice work mate =]

Does the KP3 have speakers built into it or do you have to link it to an amp or something?

  • you can plug itto any amp, mixer or aux input

  • Thanks for posting all your vids helping us to understand how it's done

  • Wow! you are a finely tuned instument indeed:) where were ya when I needed you? ;) me likey!

  • nice toy you got there!

    great modern sound.

  • nice hearing from you Zoom!
