  • Would be great if they put this one in Fallout 3 also. Lyrics fit so well lol.

  • cold case brought me here LOOOOL xD i love older songs so much o.o

  • I just inherited 100 acres in central IOWA pure land untouched, Oh give me land lots of land---don't fence me in. On my cayoose I can rid til I begin wind a down into the woods and jumps the heaven trees...

  • I'm a bit of a bloody let down to ya...

  • Well done

  • George Takei brought me here

  • ok, at the end--about 3:00--does he say "Bob Hope don't you fence me in?" Or is it some sort of scat thing... hmm..

  • @itsayskeds i thought that they said "poppa" cause thats whta the lyrics i found said and the closed captioning for when the song was played on the show cold case which is where I heard it...

  • @thestreakingninja yeah, I looked them up later and saw the ''poppa'' too. i had it playing in the car, and it just sounded like ''bob hope'' to me, knowing how much they enjoyed bickering with each other, lol. :)

  • Chopper

  • Nobody can look as classy smoking a pipe as Bing.

And smoking a pipe is quite damn classy.

  • surprised bing didnt beat the women

  • those women ruin the song

  • Excellent song to get faded as fuck to

  • @seedandstem I Lolled

  • who is here for keyboard cat...

  • It's a shame there is no video of Bing Crosby and The Andrew Sisters singing this song. I love this song. I learned it in my fourth grade chorus class in the seventies. I still remember all the lyrics and now I sing it to my baby and he enjoys it as well- his little face lights up evrytime he hears it.

  • Love it.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • this song is gangsta

  • This song is going to get a lot more depressing when I am forced to move to a half a double in a few months, maybe less :( It sucks being a teen, having no options on where I am, stuck in a house or school like a prisoner.

  • Have any of you ever actually rode a range? I have in Wyoming and New Mexico and it was the best experience ever. Wish I'd lived back then as a cowboy.

  • I'm 34 But my father is 88. He fought in WW2 & all the rest. These days he can't really communicate. It gets super sad but with the help of stuff like youtube I'm more able to sing this song & others to him & he lights the hell up. Will be last memories & way cooler than my daughter looking at him like a decaying lump of flesh that creates faeces, and more like the personality that he has always been.

  • @finnlawless I understand, better than most, and you're to be commended for your willingness to appreciate history. My father was born in 1914 (so he'd be 97 now!), served in the Pacific Theater; I was born in 1965, so my dad was the age of most of my friends' grandparents.

  • @Deutschlieber I hear ya. My dad was born 1943 but I was born 96.

  • My 8th grade teacher sang this to us at our graduation and started crying really hard. I cry when I hear it.

  • My mother in law was a prisoner of war in Japan. In the camps she was in, this song was sung as a protest against the Japanese soldiers.

  • great!

  • omg this song was the start of lilegal immgartion in mexico to the us.

  • runescape rocks

  • Thumbs Up if the Nokia ad Did not bring you here

  • thumbs up if the NOKIA keyboard cat ad brought you here

  • this voice made fallout

  • @DrHokcake You're thinking of Bob Crosby. Not Bing. Bob's Bing's brother. (Alliteration much?)

  • Holy fucking shit this would be so fucking perfect in a fuckeddy fuck Fallout game!

  • @congressman92maxwell please get over yourself

  • He had a very wonderful voice.

  • @CheeseisGood211 I'm 13 to and I love this song to! LoL

  • @KyonViBritannia Adding to the chain of 13 year olds who like this :). My parents used to play it in the car all the time when I was young.

  • this song makes me feel like doing good to society :S

  • @mcrbillytalent OH NO

  • @ultimatebman haha :L

  • who the hell where the 2 people who disliked this song?

  • Im here from the Nokia Commercial. Who else?

  • Thumbs up if a Nokia ad brought you here!

  • @WoWproductions21 Yeah, it brought me here only because the version they were playing was such a horrible butchery of the original that I had to hear the soothing sounds of Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters to preserve my sanity.

  • hehehe nikia is better

  • Nokia Astound

  • Eeeee-haaaa

  • i heard this song when i was around 2 or 3 (circa 1996/1997) and recently heard a cover of it on a commercial. it's amazing how music can bring back memories you didn't even know you had.

  • I so regret listening to the big nokia ad on the front page with this song. So awful.

  • @g1rg1rg1r whatever dude I'm just glad Nokia introduced me to this great song!

  • ahhh, i love his voice(: *siiiigh(:*

  • Even though I'm 16 and considered as Youth, I really like that kind of music.

    Is it weird?

  • @honorship no

  • @honorship aha, I'm 13 yet I love this

  • This should be in both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. But too bad its already late :(

  • should be the new national anthem. forget god and money, just take down all the FENCES! we are not meant for boundaries, segregation, and to be devided as a species.

  • @Jeudaos Okay Commy. How do you expect an economy to work without keeping out illegal workers. Segregation- Wrong yes, thats why its gone Boundries have always been around and thats just the way life works

  • @packer041 you know what, FUDGE packer. First you can rev down from being a name calling asshole. You wanna know shit?! LOOK IT UP! That's why I've even said anything. I've done research, and a shit ton of it. I don't watch your shitty biased ass fucking news. the truth is on the web. GO FIND IT FOR YOURSELF. No its not the way lifes always been. tribes in rain forests still live with no boundaries. way to put societal environmental manipulation out there for a good example, can't blame you...

  • @Jeudaos Yeah you want to live like that, go ahead. I've done research, and I watch MSNBC and the other crap because thats all I have. You want to know how that life works, go live there, because it isnt pretty. Death is around every corner. That's why, when given the choice, most people who live like that will switch, that is except those who hold all the power. Oh and you telling me to stop the name calling then taking it up a notch shows me that I don't have to respect you at all hypocrite

  • @packer041 I knew it was a waste of time. enjoy your racist msnbc, you good ol' american patriot. your opinion of me means less than what you THINK of me.

  • @Jeudaos First time I ever heard a lib call msnbc racist. I dont know what you mean by my opinion means less than what i think of you because i dont know who the hell you are, so i cant make a judegment on something like that. I hate msnbc, cnn, fox whatever, but where do any news sources come from. Mostly those networks then dissapate and become less and less accurate as it spreads. all you have to do is look at osama's death and about 500 stories on how it went down and more every day

  • @packer041 Okay I am sorry for calling you a Commy. Calling names is no way to win an argument, actually it shows a weak argument. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion because this is the U.S. even if I disagree and even if its the wrong opinion

  • @nebraska9000 lmfaoooo yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh budddddddddddyyy

  • ahhhh.. andrew sisters.. yummehh, :P

  • Very good song i love it

  • this should be in a fallout game:)

  • @ThePeopleschamp119 I was thinking that. Omfg so freaking true!!!!!!!! I thought it was at first, but II was like whoa!!!!!

  • @ThePeopleschamp119 True this song could be used in Fallout 3 due to the fact that they are stuck in the Valt :P

  • @ThePeopleschamp119 oh i get it, because they're open world games...no? Oh well it's still a great song

  • @ThePeopleschamp119 why this isn't in fallout new vegas i have no clue

    nice going Bethesda.

  • @ThePeopleschamp119 Haha this is exactly why I downloaded it xD

  • This reminds me of the Black American GI's in the 1940's who were stationed in Britain, three years after the end of WW2, they had to go back to America. They left behind 'mixed race' babies as Black/White r/s' were illegal in the US at the time. British women together with their mixed race babies were left behind. While the GI's were leaving from the Bristol airbase back to the States, the women who were left behind sang this song as they went on to climb the fence to say the last good bye.

  • @smoothcriminal00

Just found this moving song learning English...thanks to comments like yours learning another language is just amazing. How times have changed...to the sentimentalists: you see, not every thing was better times before!

  • @ThePeopleschamp119 It is in fallout 1 or 2 i think.. im prety sure its 1..

  • @Peakiness No it's not in any of them. I checked.

  • "Who's this douchebag?"

  • Bing has a perfect voice, his tone is the most beautiful we will ever hear. Listen and appreciate the great talents of Bing and the Andrews Sisters, their talent will not pass this way again.

  • one person is fenced in.

  • ah! You just don't get harmony like the Andrews Sisters.

  • Bing Crosby is the fucking shit! His music is timeless!

  • bing was always the greatest, and will always be.

  • bing was the greatest and i was born in 1997

  • my grandma and he sister used to sing this song while they washed the dishes by hand. they did this so often they finaly annoyed my great gandfather into buying a dishwasher

  • I love Bing but this feels like slow motion after listening to Roy Roger's more peppy version for so long.

  • What a wonderful song. You don't hear voices like Bing Crosby's now-a-days

  • @TheSFGamer45 lol no it's not...

  • One of the great songs of World War II.

  • Bing was the greatest, and still is , I was born in 1923

  • @viaranchcare I am impressed

  • does anyone know if there's a song of bing crosby in spanish?

or any song related to the following couple of words:

No te importe si mis labios besaran otros labios.

It would mean a world to me if someone knew that song, if you do, please put the link to the song o in a comment PLEASE!

    thanks.

  • Ella's is better. Cole Porter was an incredible songwriter.

  • Bing had the very best voice of any of the popular singers in the era of the crooners. (Before popular music became simply noise.) Ironically, he was sometimes criticized for singing songs just like this. If a song was popular, such as this movie song was, he would sing it and record it. Not like Sinatra.....who was a better stylist, singing only his particulatr style. Music stylings aside, Bing had a much better voice than Sinatra.

  • I love 40s- 50s music totally beats the crap outta the junk we have today.

  • @zcjpmm

Then you must play Fallout series :P

  • Bing was the best baritone ever, and the Andrews sister were the best harmonizers ever. Understand people, these artist were singing live into mono recording microphones. They were cutting wax master records live. No stereo, no surround sound, No auto tune, no layering, no nothing...

  • @Jangocat They had to succeed with *GASP* TALENT!

  • man, Bing Crosby has a beautyful voice! R.I.P. Bing, may you be remembered

  • Cool Song.....

  • nice recorded

  • I love this song!!

  • It would have been a really good addition, to be sure.

  • @LogiBizzle

Well, it's the Roy Rogers version, but the More Where That Came From mod has it.

  • I love listening to Bing Crosby and watching those old movies

  • My mother-in-law was a prisoner in a Japanese camp. This song is a symbol for her and others of her freedom.

  • roy rogers dos it better :)

  • This is Bing at his best.

With songs like this, no wonder why the '40's were the golden years of entertainment.

Wish I was alive back then.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • 4 of the most perfect voices ever recorded.

  • Used in the great 1944 movie "Hollywood Canteen".

  • @nancyfloressantos Also used in Chopper and The general, both crime dramas

  • I could listen to him sing all day!! Especially with The Andrew Sisters! I'm so thankful my family raised me on good music/movies!! :)

  • 1:08 -- when he sings "I....." one of the fullest, richest, most beautiful vocal tones ever recorded.

  • I was probably 7 or 8 at most when this was playing on the radio. I went around singing it constantly. Thanx for posting.

  • THE CHOPPER MUSIC!!!

  • @johnosandra Your a fucking show pony Chopper

  • i heard this song during a documentary about a pig farm.

some guy was building fences for a pig pen. He was about to put the free range (roaming) pigs on the farm in there. That's what the pigs would be singing if they could sing. LOL!

  • Perfect song for Falout: New Vegas. They better have a kickass old music radio station like GNR in that game....

  • let me straddle on your saddle x] kkkkkkk

  • good version but i like the original by roy rogers and the sons of the pioneers the best

  • My dad used to sing this song to me and my brother when we were tiny, so very happy memories, Love it !!!! Thanks for posting.

  • Sir, you cannot pee unless you are an employee

    Can't hold it in..!

    XD

  • I absolutely LOVE this song. I learned it in Catholic school. Don't remember much more from that time period...

  • Another note: I thought this song came from waay back. I wasn't too Crazy about Bing. But that's another story...

  • I wish i was born the year where songs are like this...

  • great stuff, so many versions available. A great song. I like David Byrn's version the best. waitin for Snoop, Dre' or Fiddy Cent to do one now

  • shit nigga, im really gangsta and i love rap but even i love listening to this song. shit is so cash.

  • you got it right bro!

  • nice song

  • Reminds me of my grandmother, one of the best songs off all time.

  • This is one of my all-time favourite songs. Bing, and The Andrews Sisters, are my favourite singers. And the reproduction is excellent. A winner.

  • @MrGramophone

    this is quoted from wikipedia:

"Don't Fence Me In" was also recorded by Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters in 1944. Crosby entered the studio on July 25, 1944, without having seen or heard the song. Within 30 minutes, he and The Andrews Sisters had made the recording, which later sold over a million copies and topped the Billboard charts for eight weeks in 1944-45.

  • Have this on tape.Bing,Patty,Maxine and Luverne did alot of songs together.

  • A voice like velvet... this is for me mum.

  • reminds me of the japanese internment camps...(japanese prison during WWII)

  • This is a fantastic Cole Porter song. And it's the equivalent of getting Elvis Presley and The Supremes singing this in the 60's! Nowadays, I guess fuckin' Robbie Williams and the Sugababes huh?

Ho hum, music goes full circle...

    Mikey xx

  • love it reminds me of my dad

  • Beautiful song.

  • this songs awesome

  • wunderschön
