Skinner also had a great shot to win the talladega race that Dale won later this year, but if I remember correctly the engine let go in that race also.

Heartbreaker, its hard to believe that it would end up being Robby Gordon winning the only race for Lowe's on that car, because Robby's other wins were with Cingular. Still a big heartbreaker.

@vidEvWill Another thing I find hard to believe is this race - 2 years in a row, drivers looking for their 1st win were robbed by an issue. Skinner had his misfortunes in this race but a year later, the same thing would happen to Dave Blaney. He dominated the early stages of the '01 race before a tire came off. I find it very amusing that this race had heartbreakers 2 years in a row.

That was so heartbreaking for Skinner....I know Dale ended up winning but Skinner tried so hard to win a race and got so close in that race and it all went up in smoke
