The victim clearly says "I'm so sorry", and certainly not 'I'm sorry, bro', as most media sources have purposefully misquoted him asd saying, in a clear attempt to relate this to tasers and the "don't taze me, bro" affair.
"He was all tense and very sad, very tearful, but very happy to see us," says Rob Mokaraka's father Anthony Mokaraka.
A friend and colleague, Pita Turei, says he is deeply disturbed the police shot Mokaraka.
"To argue that they felt threatened by a man coming out of his own home with a tea towel and some cutlery and that justifies shooting him with an assault rifle in the chest to kill him has to be unacceptable," he says.
He might as well have been running after his cat which pinched the meat he was preparing for dinner...? Why else would he have a tea towel in his hand?
The story makes sense, in that the towel can be thrown over the cat to catch it, and the cleaver he ran off with in his rush to catch the cat and get his dinner back.

What is a man doing walking the streets with a meat cleaver as well as other knives on his person?
Gangland violence is not country specific.

"we understand that Rob Mokaraba...." What was the source of that info?
What kind of media standards are these?

What interest does media have in lying and quoting Rob as saying 'I'm sorry, bro'???

"Just three weeks ago Hamilton Police negotiated with a man for several hours. He immediately surrendered when a Taser was flown in from Auckland.
In this case it was still on the way."

"don't taze me bro".... I don't see how media can be legally permitted to do this, absent any media competition and full media spectrum.

They are trying to spin this as a marketting strategy for Taser, a US corporation...
Now, I really don't think the public wants to waste their money on a US corporation, instead of having better policing quality standards.
That's enough lies and spin already, and this matter is much too serious to be used as a marketing strategy.
