I am from NZ and rate Wilko as the greatest rugby player of all time. Other greats include David Campese, JPR Williams and Dawie de Villiers. The All Blacks have always been great as a team, but no stand outs. Jonah was just big, but limited ion talent compared with the others mentioned here. Carter is great for marketing but not much else. He is no way in Wiko's class.
i dont know if this is right so forgive me if im wrong, but i assume NZ would of scored more tries in the 79 games carter has played for them than england scored in the 89 games wilkinson has played, thus giving more opertunity for him to score points

Carter is exceptional, im not going to dispute that, but i disagree, he was at the top of his game for about 18 months before he knocked the drop goal over, his distribution was exceptional, his kicking was unparalleled and his defence for a man of his stature was remarkable, ill admit he had a few years where he wasnt performing anywhere near his potential, injuries undoubtedly having an effect but after his performance yesterday hes looking like getting back to somewhere near his best

Wilko just burnt himself out in the few years while being active, Carter is an all round player (he doesnt hit as hard but by no means a bad defender) but I heard from some All Blacks fans Carter's weakness is passing off his left.

I think honestly it is impossible to compare most sports. But there are some very good athletes in Rugby just as there is in many other sports. (no pun)
judging from the way beckham kicked that ball he probably missed, just from lack of technique of kicking a rugby ball. kicking a rugby ball and a soccer ball are two different things.

Until you have played both sports, to a good standard (and playing for your school, no matter how could you are doesn't count as club rugby is so different) you cannot understand which is better

becks was voted madrid player of the year for the first season he was there wasn't he,couldnt have done that bad and he did win the league the last year he was there(so he did do something domestically)and u might have noticed that(after he left) man u won only one fa cup(against millwall ffs) and a league cup until ronaldo came good last season, and as soon as becks reunited with van real won the league, and i bet u loved it when becks sent england through to the world cup by himself

Theres a massive difference between these 2 figures.One-wilkinson-has the exposure and stature to stand up and truly deliver against the very best nations and opponents his sport brings to face him.Beckham,always,magnificently,out of his depth v anything approaching a world class opponent,was found out across 5 majors as a complete lightweight disgracefully hyped above his actual ability.

they are both awesome games...it's not meaningful to compare them. i'm sure if jonny and becks swapped games they'd both be excellent at the other. don't blame the players for being payed a lot, rugby players would take 50k a week if offered it!
