The social movements that have been succesful in history have been so because they physically prevented the system from functioning.

@luvcheney1 The bailouts were necessary, the issue with them was how there were no strings attached and no real rules to go with it. We should have bailed them out, took them over, and have people transition out from them to other banks and institutions while we dismantled them.
I am against any pure ideology, especially in economics. Pure capitalism isn't good, it needs regulation, and the people need a bit of "socialism", like health care and social security.

Bailing out a corporation doesnt allow the worthless parts to die. In order to do a bailout, the govt must take capital from a productive part of the economy, and pour it into an unproductive part. That is pure stupidity. It makes sense for me to pay MY doctor, not me pay for yours.

Years ago, late `60`s, early `70`s, most common private ins plans were 80%-20% indemnity. Everyone paid 20%. Explosion in costs due to people NOT paying doctors. Nobody cares. Insurance from work has very pow copays, so nobody cares. MediCare, MediCaid, nobody cares. Govt was already 50% of medical, BEFORE Obama. Govt finances, prices rise. College same issue.
