  • Xièxiè.

  • I wish I was there practicing with her.

  • A very well done and impressive quality video from the Paul Lam Productons collection that many wll buy I am sure and use for practice.

The down side is that the movements differ from the original Sun Lutang forms of the Sun Family Style and as a consequence the original style of Master Sun will be neglected even more.

  • @Taijimad: this video has neither been produced, nor endorsed, by dr.Lam's tai Chi Productions. While the form presented is the TCA arranged by dr.Lam, and the performer is a teacher of Better Health Tai Chi, this video is however an independent production.

  • The Sun style DVD is a great addition to my Tai Chi resources. I especially like the follow through practice to immediately reinforce the move just learnt and the different camera angles give a good view for a beginner. It also provides a lovely Lotus Qigong, a bonus on this DVD. The setting is calming and beautiful. It is well worth buying this if you are interested in Tai Chi for health or fitness; if you have never experienced Sun Style Tai Chi, you have a treat in store. Maree, Australia

  • The DVD looks excellent. Angela is a joy to watch and the backgrounds are stunning, especialy the Himeji Garden. This video clip is a stand-alone gem. The music creates a sort of martial atmosphere that is foreground to the bird conflict going on in the background. It looks as though the bird is watching Angela perform and has decided it will leave only in its own good time, which it does, strolling away just before the end. Marvellous. Richard, Sydney

  • Thanks for the kind comments. Sorry we didn't think of explaining the breathing on our dvd, as Angela's play of the form actually centers on the breath as you have so well remarked. Re dr Lam, if you are a tai chi teacher I recommend his new format double dvd of the TCA, as well as his book Teaching Tai Chi Effectively. For students that just want a practice aid, they could be too much though. I rather have the students learn in class and use a run-through video for practice.

  • ...to continue and shortly: breating is key, isn't it. The illustration of the breath should accompany each and every movement during the whole form. I think of so many people who do not have access to schools or masters and still would wish to try their best and derive benefits from the practice. Dan, can't wait for other posting from you.

  • Superb quality video, Dan, as always. I started Tai Chi with Paul Lam videos which I found extremely well done. His pedagogical approach is among the best, with one drawback.. I have seen on You tube an illustration of breathing in and out and qi flow with the juxtaposition of animated colored arrows, impossible to accomplish at the prehistoric time of "video tapes". I wish all teaching videos would now apply the concept. I humbly suggested it to Paul Lam on his site but didn't elicit answers.
