I dont consider Cote a true heavyweight. Even though he'll drop them with any of the heavyweights his winning percentage flat out sucks against them. If he stuck to the middleweights like him in the 200 lbs range I think he'd be one of the better ones.

The problem is, he really doesn't have any reason too. Outside of Rypien, I don't see any middleweights that could beat him. Asham fought him hard once, but that's about it. He only fights the guys that are willing to go. Those guys are heavyweights. I have season tix and I have seen countless middleweights back down to him. I completely agree on the winning percentage though.  He's just too small to fight those guys. Thornton on the other hand fights the heavies to a draw usually.

Scott's fight card needs improvement, but he has fought Fritz, Parros, Koci, Westgarth, & Jannsen. He's only had 21 career NHL fights, so his card will improve in time. Peters was on Florida when I posted 8 months ago. Stortini is the only bad fighter on that list.

Yes. Both of these guys are not big "skill players". Their role on the team is to fight for whatever reason necessary. For example, if a guy on the other team is trying to pick on your team's best skill player or goal scorer or whatever, you send your tough guy out there to take care of him or kick his ass lol. Much agreed. If anyone has ever watched old time hockey when bench clearing brawls were almost common, they would notice there isn't really much of a hockey code. They hit each other whether a jersey is over someone's head or if the refs are in between them. It was war, not pump up the fans and "keep the code". Watch clips of Dave Schutlz or Semenko in the 80's. It was no holds barred before the game started becoming Americanized. I'm American and I hate it. Well Said Hercules.

A few years ago, Thornton probably keeps blasting away at Orr with the jersey over his head, but with the way things are today, if he does something like that, not only does he run the risk of being lambasted by the media and Bettman giving him some idiotic suspension, but that will just increase the amount of people calling for an end to fighting in the NHL.

Id say pretty even. Orr got some good ones in, but Thorton got the sweater up and over. I would have liked to see it go longer Orr at 220, and Thorton at 217, would have been a good scrap.
