This equation running through the dialogue of Varinia and Spartacus - between love and knowledge, and desire and tenderness, and reverence and yearning for advancement, and freedom and a burning urgency to intermingle their beings - this is a ravishing demonstration of the higher purposes of our life. Beautiful :-)
"I wanna know all about you...every line, every curve. I wanna know every part of you, every beat of your heart." Such sensual dialogue without being vulgar. Amazing!" i love this comment !
Thank you, Marv, for all the great scenes - wonderful reminders of the best movies ever made - the movies that brought tears to our eyes, the movies that made us laugh, the movies that inspired us - the movies that may have even shaped our lives. Thank you.
I was cutting through a specialty food store to get to the supermarket where I shop and they began to play the Love Theme from Spartacus. I couldn't leave. I ended up shopping there and spending much more money.

I am so depressed. I just NOW learned she is gone. This was one of my fav movies growing up, that and Lawrence of Arabia - I saw it when I was 6 in LA (tk you mom!) - and this I personally think is one of the most wonderful love scenes ever filmed. I know this movie by heart... my God, they are all leaving us.... where's my glass........Well, we still have Kirk, Tony.. Tk you, Jean. Tk you Stanley.
One of the greatest movie's ever made. Everything about the whole film is perfect. I'm 41 now & have watched this hundreds of times since when I first saw it in the seventies. I've always loved Kirk Douglas & Tony Curtis ever since. Cheers lads you are true legends!

“I was wrong about you, poet. You won’t learn to kill. You’ll teach us songs.”
“I came here to fight.”
“Anyone can learn to fight”
“I joined here to fight!”
“What’s your name?”
“Antoninus.”
“Antoninus. There’s a time for fighting, & there’s a time for singing. Now you teach us to sing.”
