  • This equation running through the dialogue of Varinia and Spartacus - between love and knowledge, and desire and tenderness, and reverence and yearning for advancement, and freedom and a burning urgency to intermingle their beings - this is a ravishing demonstration of the higher purposes of our life.   • I am so depressed. I just NOW learned she is gone. This was one of my fav movies growing up, that and Lawrence of Arabia - I saw it when I was 6 in LA (tk you mom!) - and this I personally think is one of the most wonderful love scenes ever filmed. I know this movie by heart... my God, they are all leaving us.... where's my glass........Well, we still have Kirk, Tony.. Tk you, Jean. Tk you Stanley.

  • One of the greatest movie's ever made. Everything about the whole film is perfect. I'm 41 now & have watched this hundreds of times since when I first saw it in the seventies. I've always loved Kirk Douglas & Tony Curtis ever since. Cheers lads you are true legends!
