  • This is pendlay's row.

  • Great demo. I have to pay a lot of attention to maintain good posture in this. My elbows want to drift in to do a normal row or a lat row and back wants to round.

  • Is this good for the shoulders or for the back? I mean at what muscle group should I put this excersize shoulders or back.

  • @18iser It does both. It works the rear of the shoulder (posterior deltoid, infraspinatus, teres minor) pulling the humerus to the scapulae, and it works the traps and rhomboids pulling the scapulae to the spine, and it works the erector spinae to extend the spine, and the glutes and hamstrings to extend the hip.

  • It really looks close to the BB Row for Back, but it is a Rear Delt Row for Rear Delts!

  • good form brotha!

  • awesome technique

  • I Tried this on a flat bench with the barbell hanging below the bench, i felt a good activation of the rear delt and a bit of traps while taking the strain off the lower back.

  • so this builds the back of the shoulder? and the upper back?

  • @ANDYYEEE

from what i read, it focuses on the Rear Deltoids while at the same time improving certain areas in the back. Bent-Over Dumbell Rows looks almost alike accept it kind of focus on the back more so than Rear Deltoids.

Just google it like i did man and you'll see what im saying. Hope that helps.

Google ExRx and a website should come up. Thats where i got the information. Peace!

  • wrong.

bb row is compound back exercise not shoulders

  • @marxistsoldier this is not a bb row, it's a rear delt row, it's mainly for real delts

  • @l3u11e7pr00f rear* delts

  • @marxistsoldier It works shoulders too, or what else attaches the humeri to the scapulae?

  • the back has to be straight and horizontal to floor so it looks ok to me

  • Perfect form, great job.

  • ... hes just working out his back at the same time....

  • It depends what angel the elbows go out at. If you tuck them straight back it'll focus on the back but if they go outward it'll put focus on rear delts.

  • That looks a bit hard for the back...nice body!

  • hard for the back builds a strong back ... provided you do it properly :) howabunga points out the distinction of elbow position in relation to muscle targeting

  • it seems as though your putting unecessary strain on the back but im not sure hven't tried it yet
