  • Not only are they better than every single album mentioned here, this is a formative work for speed/death metal. Work of neoclassical spirit and excellence. The phrasing here is absolutely incredible. It is played to a raw technicality that is utterly fitting and conveys visions and emotion. The also have an appetite for the epic which they reveal. This album and the next are some of the best metal of all time. NONE OF THE THIRD RATE BANDS MENTIONED IN THIS THREAD COME CLOSE.

  • @autobotftwww Except to dumbasses who can't really appreciate music at all and can only see surface layers. So one band is "heavier" or more "brutal" than another. What a fucking joke. If you think like that go listen to some popular music, where a focus on image and technique is the rule. This is narrative songwriting, a vision put to music.

  • heavier than protector yes, faster than incubus yes, heavier and faster than morbid saint? no,but massacra is too badass anyways

  • These guys are more destructive than Protector....more lethal than Incubus (Death/thrash)...and have more balls then Cancer. Yup, Massacra kicks fucking ass!

  • @MunicipalDude Ok maybe you would like to be even more unrealistic and throw in Nokturnel and Armagedon too. Seriously Massacra is nowhere near as heavy as Protector nor as fast as Incubus, don't be a fool, these guys are good but not that good. The production and musicianship of The Heritage and Beyond The Unknown is more focused and professional than anything these guys could ever imagine, case and point, the shit that is Signs Of Decline, that album is highly repetitive and lacks originality

  • no other band plays drums like that....

    fucking insane & original!!!!

    Fred is always missed R.I.P.

  • This band is definitely one of the fastest death/thrash bands out there.

  • great band

  • RIP Fred DUVAL (1968-1997), guitar, vocals

  • It's always good to hear some nice, solid death metal.
