  • I would shit myself if i saw an army of those marching towards me with m16s mounted on top

  • replicators are real :O

  • Love the sound. Think of thousands of these things with mounted guns walking down the street.

    *Government purchases*

  • So can we tape a hand grenade to the back of this and tell it to walk into an Al Quaida cave and say "USA! USA!" and then detonate the grenade?

  • this is how it all starts people programing robots to do their own will then in the middle of the night the robots some how learn to comunicate then they start taking over the world and it will all start in japan I'v seen it man I'v seen the future....o_0

  • Price?

  • Awesome! I know what I see nightmares about tonight!

  • Give it a gun already! I wanna play DooM for real.

  • You should sell that design to the military. they would pay out the ass if they wanted it and i think they would. Also whats its weight carry limit?

  • Giant Enemy Crab!

  • PUT A FLAMETHROWER ON IT.

  • lol, giant spider robots are going to take over the world

  • omg replicator

  • cool

  • It's gonna be war of the worlds but 2 times worse XD

  • I like the sound when it walks, It sounds like an army xD.

  • can u make it take a dump or go pee or both on your head

  • Did you design this from scratch or is there plans out there somewhere how to build this?

  • The ants go marching one by one, Hoorah

  • Baby Arachnotron.

  • HL2 uberstrider

  • reminds me of the protoss dragoon

  • thats pretty awesome.

  • Even the sound is crazy like a army of soldiers

  • sounds very much like soldiers marching

  • to write the program must be a nightmare.....

  • ooooh..very nice!

  • u should make more and sell them

  • You should add wheels to a couple of its legs and use the other legs to propel it :)

Maybe use something to pop them in and out of the legs with a push of a button. Instant speed when needed!

    Nive Vid

  • incredible!

  • good work, how u made it

  • nice ? how to make ? 5/5

  • The gov. is gonna come claim that saying it's stolen. lol

  • @DryBonz1 the government isnt smart enough to make anything like this anyways lol

  • GODDAMN YOU SKY LABS!!!!

  • this things speed is excellent. A little faster and wed have some nice sentry drones

  • wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great! The only thing missing now is that automatic BB-gun mounted on the top

  • Rather reminds me of the 80's film "Runaway"; Tom Selleck, Gene Simmons.

  • Very interesting and creative.

  • that is amazing! how can i make something similar?

  • in college

  • i understand that, but thats not the question i asked.

    thanks anyways

  • That's sick man.

  • Amazing!

  • if u make this realy big maybe as big as a plane and pack it with guns and rockets you have a warmachine imagine it?

science fiction stuff isn't as far away as u think!

  • ow i said warmachine but what i realy ment was devestating warmachine

  • D=< Stop giving other countries ideas to kill us. LOL.

  • hey, jman44, can you tell me how you did this and what you used plz. i am really interested this stuff. this is kick ass. plz tell me!

  • oh and how much did it cost you? approximately.

  • Awesome! Did you build this from scratch or is it a construction kit?

  • he definitely built it through a construction kit =) not to insult his skill but it's really hard to build something like that from scratch.. Cuz if life were like that u wouldnt need a Visa Card

  • It is very cool, love it.

How you control it? Or it control itself alone?

  • really cool robot! :)

Behaves quite good like a real spider! :)

  • I wonder through further development what the top speed could be, also how many personell to crew a larger version. it would need more development for sand or mud, then again would it work with sand or grit in its moving parts? It is very mechanical, there was a lot of experience gained for all terrain vehicles through the 2nd world war. How would it operate if one of its legs were knocked out?A car wont work with 1 wheel missing. So good and bad points.

  • theoretically, any object is stable on at least three legs. so its got three spares

  • True, if it looses the right three legs. It's a lot more difficult to walk with only three though.

  • Hey you guys remember that movie Wild Wild West with Will Smith, thats Doctor Loveless'es spider right there :)

  • Uh sorry for my grammar on last comment, was so excited. :D

  • Haha, it is cool, where you bought it or did you invent it?

Hmm try attach The Max Planck band textile to its feets, the textil copies the funtion of insect legs and is gluefree and can me washes whitout losing eficiency.

1CM2 takes five kilograms, wich make it able to climb walls and wall up down on the roof. :)

    That would be awesome.

    what does it weigh?

    I gues 1o-15 kilos?

So yeah it will go up your wall like a true insect. :)6X5(if it is only 1CM2 under each foot)= 30 kilos.

  • Wow..thats great!...

I like when it waves its 2 legs..heh..reminds me of a dog begging...its quite marvelous and inspirational....o.o..

    Good job!

  • It seems like when a company makes a robot, it's extremely slow, big, and supposedly but not really "all-terrain", but when an independent makes one it's fast, compact, and very cool.

  • thats because the companies are trying to make drones (2 legs) have you not seen the Dancing robots? I think Sony made them... And our military (US) has made a dog bot (great dane sized) that IS all terrain it is a 4 legger and can manage surprises.

  • lol that would be funny if it crawled on someone at night.

  • dude it sound like techno music

  • RISE OF THE MACHINES!

  • Blue neck!!!

  • sometimes those robots kind of scary me, because the future does not seem to be far away from us now....

  • Nice!

Where is that 'marching' sound come from?! Bad camera mic? How many mAh your battery has, and how long does it last on a single charge?

  • There is no AI, it uses 18 servos(3 per leg) and its for sale if ne 1 is interested.

  • @jman44

    How much?

  • @jman44 i would be more interested in buying the schematics

  • omg 2:15-2:24 creeps me out!!! if i saw something bigger doing that i would die instantnly!!!

    im aracnofobic lolz

  • Very good work!!!

    Did you projected it?

You are using electronic servos to move the legs?

Does it ave any kind of AI?

  • dude, that thing is teh cool. make a bigger one, and take over the world!

  • DESTROY ALL HUMANS!!!!

     muhahaha!

    (evil laugh)

  • really cool range of motion on the legs. Most hexes have little range so they only move a little bit. nice work.

  • intresting....

  • cool!

  • That thing is cool!

  • That thing is cool!

  • it sounds like techno music

  • LOL

  • How did you think they make Techno Music... ?

  • hahah

  • ITS THE MATRIX!!!!! KILL IT!!!!!

  • it would be cool if u could plant a minicam and some explosives on it

  • Create one the size of a truck and make it run through town! lol

  • Wow i like it, excellent work! It doesnt move jerky at all.

  • Can you make it hump your leg? or kill someone? or both?

  • @prettydonkeyjetpack Perhaps it can hump someone's leg so hard tat it kills them!

  • how much???

  • Pretty impressive robot - love the sound. Looks like your using an adaptive AI, neural net or genetic?

    - Lucien

  • Actually I am remote controlling this robot via a PS2 wireless game controller, no AI was ever programmed. As you can see it uses a tripod gait to keep it steady. Unfortunately I am selling it since I don't have the time for it.

  • Oops - the gait looked adaptive. - Pretty complex gait control anyway. - Its the next stages where everything starts to get really difficult - sensing, feedback, path mapping, vision, navigation, etc.

  • The gait programming does have some AI in it; The inverse kinematics engine is semi intelligent. The PS2 controller method is popular amongst hobbyists who can afford such hexapods. Lynxmotion and somebody at newmicros, a company that makes servo controllers, wrote the PS2 controller program found many places on the internet.

  • @Lucien86 owned

  • quite fast for a static balancer, and a fairly smooth gait.

  • nice.robot..i plan to make one.just like yours but improve artificial intelligence on it..

  • it prolly uses a remote or a program. i doubt it reacts to anything because all it does is dance an walk in circles. it would really suck if that was its AI

  • yes i will be using remote. but the robot will have an ai for adopting in the environment. i have already made a plan a will make a hexapod scorpion like.using the tail to pick up objects.

  • sounds like an interesting project. i havent had much experience in robotics, so i only scarcely understand what u mean by "adopting to the environment". Unless u mean like walking up hills or on unstable platforms.

  • good job, put a gun on it and u have the perfect soldier, or a elite guard

  • how much does it cost to build one ?

  • It seems more like a march than a dance, probably due to the sound :)

  • It seems kind of "confused" at some points... or is it stopping to think?

  • I think this is one of the better looking hexapods I've seen here on youtube. It stood up quite fast, too, at the very beginning.

    Damn nice job!

  • Creepy, but amazing, send a bunch of those to mars to explore... hopefully martians won´t squash them with a newspaper.

  • amazing, specially the sound i thnk robots need sound to add to their originality

  • Very good design. Very noisy video though, sounds like and army of Storm Troopers marching by! lol

  • really cool!

  • Great! Now all you have to do is program it with intense and complex algorithms to make it learn on its own! That should only take about a couple years of programming, lol.

  • ya if u made i giant one u can be like a mad scientist and desrtoy buildings or whatever

  • brilliant, were you influenced by anything?

  • Thats so cool

  • put a little drum in front of it and you could start a band!

  • nice one of the best walking robots ive seen so faar

  • how did you make this robot.. what material did you used and how long did it take you to make 1 . please tell me.

  • that is one cool spider robot

  • 1 step closer to QuadMechs rampaging through city's.

  • Amazing!!! I want one! A bit more and you can do eletronic songs.

  • Apparently this one plays mp3s.

  • superrrrr...You re so talent. But also it is crazy, where do you want to use it? Maybe it is prototip of big spiders that build apartments or to hold heavy things. but I dont want to think it is as a soldier, very dangerous!

Thank you for this show and you re good at making robot technology. Good luck:)))

  • how much cost this robot ?

  • That sound comes from the multiple gears inside each servo. This hexapod has 12 servos - hence the racket.

The servo makers like Futaba, Sanwa, and Hitec should already be producing servos that are quiet. We do not want to announce the presence of our spider every time we use it. Some future applications would surely involve stealth.

  • Actually I built it with 3dof per leg times 6 legs equals 18 servos.

  • Thanks. I stand corrected.

  • Great work. I like the sound it makes...

  • sounds like marching soldiers

  • lol sounds like it's making a song, kinda chatchy for the robot

  • My second idea is for either a robot such as yours, or even the kind I talked about earlier, could have the pads/foot of each leg have a wheel on it so that it could "skate" along by undulating it's legs on the wheels for increased mobility on paved surfaces. This second idea was inspired by a 4 legged robot from Hirose Robotics Lab (google it, to see it). Btw, very nice robot, thanks for uploading it.

  • I have 2 ideas/suggestions for your robot. The first one is that a hexapod robot, not unlike yours, that has panels on the legs that when properly arranged could transform it into a ball with 3 legs closing on top and bottom and with the aforementioned panels would form each half of the sphere. Also with this arrangement it could be possible for the panels/legs to move/wiggle so that it could roll itself.

  • THATS FOKING AWESOME!!!!

  • remote controlled via wireless ps2 controller

  • The shear percussion of it is mesmerising.

Was that remote control, or preprogrammed (obviously the leg movements were preprogrammed, but I mean the directions it went, and when it decided to waggle its legs).

    Amazing little machine you have.

  • It's a superior race. I'm scared.

  • The robot makes marching music. Great!

  • Nice.

  • no I have it up for sale now

  • how much do you ask for it?

  • $1000 obo since I paid over $1400 to build it, and it includes everything.

  • Cool robot! 14k is not that much. Are you using servos for the legs? And a some type of microcontroller I guess. Where else did the money go?

  • Great mechanics and coding

Have you thought about adding more "intelligence" to it? Maybe get it to build something ;)

  • it really does sound like a mech which makes it really cool

  • awesome

  • AWESOME!

  • u must be smart

  • Very nice coding for it's gate.

  • lol 9, more like 18

  • yayyy it rox :D i love him, so cute :P

  • why does it go up in the air and act like it is scratching something? Other than that it is really cool and could even some day replace a car. I'd by it because it looks like it does not require expense gas and makes a much cooler sound than a car.

  • Awsome!!!! Fantastic Work!!

  • Woah, that's what I want to be able to build when I get older, really awesome work!

  • shweeeeeeet

  • Nice work guys =)

  • Well I have you to thank for the code lol

  • Cool...hehehe...
