I can model most stuffs like bottles to everything else except a human being and a car. that's what i wanna do too but it's kinda hard. With the human head modeling , i'm able to do it until i get to the back of the head then i get stuck. with the car , i start pretty well when it gets to the end , i get stuck and the model looks scary then i give up. am good at modeling any other thing. and oh i cant model aircrafts and stuffs too but mah goal is a human and cars!!that's mah dream!
very good showreel...but i think the start of your reel shows some mediocre work.....i must say it got REALLY GOOD towards the middle and end....especially the modelling at 1:09 is cool with the bullets going past her....and the batmobile model lookedd greatt..not sure about the animating tho....other than that it looks perfect
All of these are amazing work but you don't have a cohesive goal on this reel. What I mean which field do you specialize in? Prospective employers are going to be wondering where they can put you. If your super great at rigging then give a few examples of rigging in action then scrap everything else.
@tokensocialist I'm a generalist, so yes many employees will see that as a negative. Fortunately some people are able to look past that and realise that I have pretty decent skills in a number of different areas.
i like, though would assume animation to not be your strong point? i think definitely work on improving that, but you could easily get a job working on modeling etc
man you should really put the last two videos at the begining of the reel when you aply for a job the first 15 sec of your reel are very important i thoght you sucked at the begining but as i got the the end i saw you were better if i had to go throw a bunsh of reels i would not have goten to see your good stuff
@Tepicoelano2 Completely understandable! I've been criticised heavily for doing this but I was more going for the flow of the piece rather than doing it as a demo reel traditionally should be. Point taken though!

La verdad dejas impresionado... En especial me gusto la escena del aguila... Despues de ver el esqueleto volando no crei q quedaria tan hermoso... suerte a tu estudio...
Your demo is pretty good, although I do things there are certains things u should remove to make it shorter ( ex. the tree, robot dog....the batmobile looks cute but needs a lot of work)
I am really impressed the way you composited the whole demo, especially the intro
hey can you tell me the specs of your computer on which u do your work?
i think i have met my 3d role model.... im 16, a little skilled, but i just lack a good pc. i really think this would give me a good idea as to what parts to buy
My main workstation has an Intel 3ghz quad-core CPU with 8GB of RAM. I use multiple highend nVidia video cards for working on 3 monitors & CUDA processing
For network rendering, I have 5 quad core machines at 2.6ghz. Each PC has 4GB of ram. I also have a macbook Pro for working on the move
Without this kind of setup, HD rendering would be 'difficult'. If you're just starting out you can basically work on anything. Basic modeling will be fine until you hit more intensive stuff like dynamics
It's hard to say. I don't think one is really better than the other. 3D Studio is more often used in TV/Game production, whereas Maya is more dominant in the movie industry, but with each subsequent version they're getting more similar. Some things are easier in one program than the other, but I wouldn't say that one program can do anything that the other can't. Max is probably an easier learning software, but my personal choice is Maya. You'll find that your skills are useful in any 3D program.
Great demo reel! one of the best i'v seen and such a catchy tune too. I'm just beginning to learn Maya so your works are definitely motivating me :) cheers and all the best
The vast majority of it was done in Autodesk Maya, though I do also use 3D Studio Max (depending where I'm working) and have a fair bit of experience using Vue.
The overall piece was put together in Adobe After Effects using a lot of 3D layers and a 3D camera.
