If u are using a sony memory card it is probably that because sony made it so it was almost impossible to rip the in game videos onto the card, try getting a sandisk card works alot better

This is kinda of topic but you know u can hack your iso cso dax etc. all you have to do is download umd gen 4.0 and have a spare copy of the iso on ur desktop.i hacked code lyoko quest for infinity and it is sweet i nuke all the monsters with aelita i have energy disks like william for ulrich and yumi has infinite lock on odd has a minigun and they all have infinite health and energy and have 1 hit kills and many more things. if you have any questions just pm me on how to hack GL

its called a gameboot, you need Custom Firmware to do this, i use 5.00 M33-6. search for one you like and you should get a file called gameboot.pmf. now, hold Rtrigger when booting your psp, go to to advanced> toggle usb flash0. make sure your psp is connected to your pc. then on your pc, youll get a popup, now go to 'VSH' copy the .pmf file you downloaded and replace it with the original .pmf file MAKE BACKUPS!!

CSO is a compressed ISO meaning the size of the file has been compressed to a lower size, so yes the memory is smaller now faster than a umd would also be correct.

you may use it CSO for smaller size because is being compressed

if that compression is about 400 or even 600mb difference, the game starts to lag and stutter

GTA Liberty City is an example

i always use the uncompressed iso and it runs smooth like butter

Popsloader is a plugin which lets you use POPS versions from other, older firmwares. Sometimes older POPS versions support some PS1 games better.

Games won't lagg if you decompress them from cso to iso lvl9 and if you update your costum frimware to newest 5.00 m33 costum frimware wich was relased recently

I backed up some of my games and happened to try backing up GTA libery city in .CSO format instead of .ISO and i happent to notice small skips on the CSOs. is this normal? will we experience small skips on CSOs? and does this happen to all games? thanks.

Yes, CSO lags/skips much more than ISO. It depends a lot on the game as well, with some of them you can't even notice the difference, but with others it can ruin the gameplay. GTA VCS and LCS are notorious for lagging in CSO format.

You could try setting the CPU to 333 Mhz in game or decompressing the game to ISO format.

i would say iso format is a lot better. would be record for about 30 seconds or so... but cso is the other way to save up some space in the memory stick if your memory stick is not high enough in storage capacity, so umd's are way back! :D...

It gives you information about the percent of battery left, time left, CPU/BUS speed, CPU usage, time etc. The newest version also shows you the FPS.

Back at the time I used 4.01 M33 but now that the new version came out it is also compatible with 5.00 M33 so that's what I use it with.

CSO is in fact slower than ISO. It also depends a lot on the game, on some games you can't even notice the difference, but on others, like both GTAs the game lags much more if it's in CSO format.

You can unpack the CSO to make it ISO so it will load faster.

It was 2 euros more than the normal Sandisk here, but don't worry about that, you should just get the normal Sandisk if the ultra is that much more. Sandisk makes good memory sticks and they're pretty fast even when they're not Ultras.

Ive come to realize that if your PSP gets used to the game, the UMD will load quick races in 45 seconds and career or arcade races in 28 seconds. When I first got this game it took 3 mins to load every race. After a month it gradually got faster and now it loads in 28 sec.

Nope its a fat PSP and it doent have custom firmware. I guess since that its the only game I have and I use it often, i guess the laser gets used to moving to the same parts over and over again, I dont know, but Im glad its loading faster!

Yeah, it should be about 33% faster when the CPU is clocked to 333Mhz.

I suggest buying a bigger memory stick though, like a 4 GB. They're cheap these days. Just make sure you don't buy a Lexar or a fake mem stick, otherwise you'll get a lot of problems.

JSO is a dead format. Long gone, and I don't think the custom firmwares of today even support it.

You need to have a hacked PSP to run games from the memory stick.

First of all, putting the PSP CPU to 222+ MHz is not overclocking. The Sony VSH sets it to 222 MHz to save battery.

I had the CPU on 333 MHz to make the games load faster. I also installed the fatmsmod.prx patch to make ISO games load faster for minimum load time.

And you don't need all that stuff. I just wrote it all up so people wouldn't have to ask me "how did you do this" or "what is that gameboot/theme" etc.
