only two venues in hull that would be suitable. The Springhead
and adelphi club
both are 7 day a week live music clubs. The springhead tends to put on trib bands/'classic' bands (ie Stray /W. ash, Budgie, Ten years after) The adelphi does original bands only and is a classic scruffy club. it puts on newbands, punk , but also a lot of classic old stuff
Stooges inspired? I honestly don't know. JOT is credited to Glenn Ross Campbell & Neal Hubbard, the two guitarists in JL Mk. 1. As the Stooges album came out in August 1969 and the members of The Misunderstood / Juicy Lucy were in the UK at the time I doubt that they were exposed to the Stooges material. To be honest the two tunes sound very much "of the time" to me.
Still do Mary Anne (actually called Just One Time) on occasions. If you think that was the peak you really should go and check out the current tunes on the band's web site.
cool man...i like findin new tunes so i'll do that. yeah, just one time is a cool number. was that stooges inspired? it has a heavy 'we will fall' vibe and the burning sand lyric is very iggy.
hmmm...don't see glenn ross campbell, tony hill, chris mercer, paul williams, neil hubbard, or keith ellis...must be ol ray owen and some pals?
