  • I'd like to know how the hell one eats a baguette style sandwich - the second most stupid format after 'tower' . Every bit of the filling in a baguette is near the edge and likely to fall out!

  • how many are there god dam it, i want to go to sleep, i wanted to go to sleep nearly three hours ago

  • I love tall burgers as it forces you to slow down and builds your appetite as you consider how to eat it.

  • He's complaining about food that's taller than it is wide? Sounds like David needs to stop eating at American restaurants.

  • "... It's not a woo food." What if it's a Woo Sandwich?

  • Some other weird eaters: cracked.com/article_19660_8-humans-whose-eating-habits-would-make-goat-puke

  • Did he say "samwich"? Several times?

  • How about Davey?

  • I assume a tall burger is meant to be consumed by cutting a slice like a cake and consuming sideways

  • Please ! Someone tell that to the people who make the adverts for Subway - please !

  • "You should never go "woo" at a sandwich, it's not a 'woo' food." - That's a brilliant quote, and the tone was perfect.

  • i'm pretty sure the hamburger came first. cavemen needed something to put around their grilled meat so it would be easier to eat. thus a sandwich is a pretty dull hamburger :)

  • @mollemannen well, you are right. The romans had already a dish that was in fact a hamburger just only with meat ^^ And the Earl of Sandwich, who "invented" the sandwich came much later :p

  • Actually, at the end of the day it's dinner.

  • Agreed. I once ordered a cheeseburger in a particularly popular American diner and was given something that didn't have any bells and whistles, but did - quite literally - have the same diameter as my head. I didn't know how the hell I was expected to eat the monster when I couldn't even pick it up without the contents sliding around. In the end, my friends got to have a good laugh while I slowly chipped away at it with a knife and fork.

  • He keeps saying 'samwidge' when he's clearly referring to a sandwich.

  • This is why I always ask for burgers without all the extra shit. I don't mind it on the side, but as far as I'm concerned a burger is two bits of bread with meat in between.

  • @Stycu yes it is. And diner is spelled with one.

  • 0:40 on... it's great!!!

  • it's never a shame to eat a burger with a knife and fork, hot food is not hand food

  • Haha, have to agree with him about the burger!

  • WOOO Sandwich!

  • THATS A MACBOOK PRO

  • This is my favourite one of this series.

  • David, these graphics ... please stop moving about the screen. It is disconcerting and annoying. Stop it.

  • @FerCryinOotLoud I actually enjoy it.

  • @FerCryinOotLoud Motion Graphics used in this video look weird if there isnt constant movement...

  • @DFDYoung Hmm ... Doesn't bug me as much as I remember. Maybe I wrote that the week I got a root canal? I could imagine it making me queasy on Percocet.

  • always liked david mitchell and peep show but it appears subject matter is running thin maybe political insight and damnation is his future as apposed to sandwiches !!

  • WOO!

  • U say that about the knickerbocker glory, but they always make the bottom of the glass(/bowel) narrower than the spoon they give you 2 eat it with!

  • That's a strange sign indeed, haven't seen it in US. In USA it's usually "don't like it, have your money back" ..or... "don't like it, order something else for free."

  • My mother brought me up saying that most fast food (hamburgers and pizza) was just a glorified toasted sandwich and therefore not 'proper' food. Nice to here someone else say it.

  • Blah blah talking about nothing in mildly amusing way woo woo woo....

  • @HFRAJK Well sorry, I personally don't speak english as a first language. I guess I also should have said "I THINK the quality etc." since I was rather expressing a personal opinion than "making claims". I'm still a D. Mitchell appreciator though.

  • Hamburger a glorified sandwich. Truly David Mitchell is a modern day messiah :)

  • The quality of these videos has deteriorated. The last two especially. Poor subject choises.

  • @mustardflag I personally wouldn't make those claims if I couldn't spell the word "Choice"

  • @mustardflag It's an inevitability of continuing the series. Every episode of the first run had a wide, popular subject, but eventually you run out of them and you're left with more specific, niche ones.

  • Should someone tell David Mitchell that the metal eating Frenchman, Michel Lotito, died in 2007?

  • The silly graphics are starting to get in the way. Reel it back a bit please folks.

  • RoosterTeeth ad. :O

  • Jamie's Italian restaurants - The Italian burger

So good, but it's one of the burgers he's talking about. It comes in a tower of ingredients that's about 7 inches tall. And you have to take the stick out and deconstruct the whole thing and then attempt to reconstruct in some manner that loses some height - ANY height. You can usually succeed in getting it down to about four inches at which point you wonder if you have some kind of latent jaw-unhinging ability that can be called into play.

  • at any high quality restaurant if you are not certain of how to eat an item you are within your rights (and expect to do so in truth) to ask that the chef come out and tell you how, and even possibly show you (on a duplicate/mock up) of the dish, if you are dropping 100 bucks (for you brits 50 or so quid) on your dish for dinner to start with it shouldn't be all that fancy and if it is, you can damn well order that chef out to explain how to eat it. under that marker as it were; fuck you.

  • @kght222 just saying you don't pay 100 bucks for a porterhouse alone. its for the service and the quality.

  • David, we are thankful, this is f a b u l o u s, but, we beg you. Could you p l e a s e make the subscribe link more smooth? As if it's an esthetical and empathetic experience...

  • @tiesthijsthejs dude its a clearly marked button that shouldn't be used. see that grey thing right above the video that says subscribe, click it, that's all it takes. wow that's hard, excruciatingly difficult indeed. (btw subscribe to anything you want, and this is a good channel, i just have personal issues with subscriptions that render the very idea meaningless for me.) and next time you spell the word fabulous and please, just spell the damn word. we on the net don't care your gay.

  • @kght222 eh dude...I know it's just there. It's just ugly that it's there in the way it is. And I was trying to be polite and evocative, not by offending (like you did) but by being grateful.

  • @tiesthijsthejs i apologize, was wasted.

  • @kght222 :) no problem

  • @kght222 dude, you tell him to pell correctly? Do i need to point you to your last words? "your gay"...

    hypocrite.

  • @aeslkjfhghae i apologized dude, and also mentioned i was wasted, maybe i should apologize to you as well? meh.

  • @kght222 yes.

  • Best rant of the series so far.

  • Trying to call David Mitchell "Dave" just doesn't work; "Dave"'s are too common.

He deserves his full name, it works that way :D

  • @MattFClarke1

He mentioned in 'Not One' that he doesn't care about Dave/David but people around him do.

  • @muffin8or True, but that was uploaded after this video, so I was none the wiser. :)

  • I wish the worms that leave spam and pointless comments would crawl back into the woodwork.

  • I've gone woo! for a sandwich. Maybe I was just to hungry :-S

  • davidmitchellgasm? Really?

  • You cant go woo at a sandwich, its just not a 'woo food'

    Well... depends what's in it.

  • @MrSilky1969 no

  • why the fuck is this on youtube???this aint tv mother fucker

  • Silf

  • Silt

  • Pita!!!

  • David Mitchell is a grade 1 douche bag.... There I said it.

  • @chris87moyard tile of the video is "Chef's Special David Mitchell's Soapbox" if you think david mitchell "grade 1 douche bag" then why watch the video

  • @chris87moyard : Ah yes - this is intelligent humour, so as a Septic Tank you won't understand it, and it doubtless frightens you a bit.

  • @chris87moyard

I thought this was a moderately funny video - not one of his best, but pretty good. As for the douch-baggery, so far as I've been able to discover douching is only performed by whores and the scientifically illiterate. I'm not sure which of these you are, so perhaps I should just respond to your remark with the standard reply: "takes one to know one". Bye.

  • The real life version of somegreybloke.

  • "You should never go 'woo', at a sandwich"

    I so agree.

  • /watch?v=zcDZQ4NWm-s

    random video watch !!!

  • not even at an EpicMealTime sandwich?

  • I was at a pub & had one of those burgers about 20 minutes ago. I stared at it for about 10 minutes.

  • I once had a sandwich. Good times.

  • more peep show please.

  • For other similarly confused Americans, a knickerbocker glory appears to be an ice cream sundae served in a tall glass.

  • @SeventhEve with jelly :D

  • @noSoSolid2K or 'jello', I think they call it in the US of A. :P 'Jelly' means jam to them if I'm correct.

  • @imissrose123

    Correct

  • @SeventhEve actually, a knickerbocker glory is sort of like a a sundae. But it has jam in it instead of chocolate sauce.

  • @SeventhEve im english i no in my life has ever used that word

  • it's not a woo food. LOL!!

  • My name is:

    Daue?

  • It's interesting that the compositing has improved somewhat since dell began sponsoring these, although these videos wouldn't lose any brilliance if it was filmed in a minimalist studio

  • WOOOOOO

  • What's so mundane about a sandwich? They're so versatile that they 'woo' me into a stunned silence on a regular basis. Having said that, when Subway offers me a selection of white bread, it pisses off. Big time.

  • Woo!

  • The chalk outline of David reminds me of Blake's 7.

  • IT'S NOT A WOO FOOD

  • I always get a mini davidmitchellgasm when I see a new rant video in my subscription- and that is even before I watch it. Then, while watching it, I have a full-blown davidmitchellgasm.

  • Your more of a David than a Dave.

  • what is a "Woo" food?

  • @ihurtmyarm Following the premise of the video, almost a "wow" food, but not quite.

  • Sound advice there for anybody's future. "Don't go woo at a sandwich"

  • hey david, happy birthday ol scout, cheers from san diego

  • DISAGREE!!! Sandwiches are totally "WOO"!!

  • These really dipped by season 3, sorry Dell :P

  • Once again David Mitchell expresses what I've always thought myself.

  • happy birthday david :)

  • You could woo the sandwich AFTER the first bite not before.

  • It's not a woo food xD

  • its just not a WOO food

  • @clayber1234 epic meal time thinks otherwise

  • @clayber1234 It's a MSN food.

  • I can have more than half a cow for under £50 at Mitchel's Dinner? Coo! :D

  • If you go "woo" at a sandwich in David Mitchell's diner, do you get kicked out?

  • I'd so eat at an open all night café endorsed by David Mitchell. 'Twould be my honour, in fact.

  • A sandwich. It's not a woo food. Surely there's a demotivational poster in there somewhere

  • David Mitchell should meet Epic Meal Time

  • I want some woo-food

  • I so want to eat at Mitchell's Diner.

  • You should never go "woo" at a sandwich. It's not a "woo" food.

  • Why is the promoted video New David MItchell Show and it is in fact the one BEFORE?

And that isn't a mispelling, it does say Mltchell.

  • i think it's gormet burger kitchen he's talking about; tasty as hell but a task to get in your mouth...

    ...

    ...

    that's what she said.

  • If it's the end of the day, it really wouldn't be lunch, would it?

  • Happy birthday David we both share the same birthday , so.. Woo

  • Dave is scraping the bottom of the barrel this week. I bet he was on his way to the studio to record this clip when he saw the sign.

  • I may have gone "woo" at a sandwich before now.

  • finaly a good one again

  • how did the the video get 381 likes when only 301 people have watched it??

  • @fiona712gome the view count lags

  • alright, taking sandwiches down a peg

  • Haha remove the sparklers and all the other detritus :L

  • EXTRA! EXTRA! SANDWICH NOT 'WOO FOOD' CLAIMS MITCHELL!

  • happy birthday!

  • In this one, for some reason it looks like David is missing the bottom half of both his legs...

  • You should never go 'woo' at a sandwich.

  • "at the end of the day, it's only lunch"

lunch comes in the middle of the day, it's tea at end of the day, or supper. your day must be seriously messed up!

  • @georgercop i hope you are being sarky...

  • @georgercop

    So fucking what?

  • 'the logistical problems of the poor sod who has to eat the food' lol

  • The sign has got to be a joke, right?

  • Funniest episode of the series so far. "I'm going to play my joker" LOL

  • Everything on my plate gets the knife and fork, that includes burgers and people trying to steal my chips.

  • "It's not a 'woo' food." :D

  • What about if all you've eaten for a month is pasta (due to being very low on funds) and someone comes up to you and goes, 'here have a bacon and egg sandwich' I think one can be permitted to woo in this sandwich situation.

  • Wait, have I missed something here? When did David become an amputee? ;)

  • My name is Daue?
