@gilgamess Wolf suffered harsh tribulations. Jim Crow/Judge Lynch ruled, though Delta sharecroppers (which Wolf did until age 40) were spared some KKK actions (so could be worked harder.) A violent scene playing juke joints, too. His biography describes it well. Wolf & I faced the gun together in 1968. In my interviews (howlingwolfphotos) Wolf poignantly describes abuse, a starving farm slave til 13 to a great-uncle, after his religious zealot mother kicked him out at age 9. ©S G Schoenfeld
