this is awesome man, i wanted to know about this and you do exactly what you should do: discuss. there's no way you could talk about all this by rushing through it, talking fast, or skipping bits. nice work dude!
@Gradet Funny you should say that because the author of the book contacted me to say thanks for the nice video. Time annotations in the description. Cheers.
@truthcrackers The author of this book contacted me a week after I made this video. Made a youtube channel (ampho824). He hasn't made any videos yet but you never know... He still teaches at NYiT.
@theRoseofmyheart i tried to watch it but couldn't. lol. that's why i put the time links in the description if you get bored and want a break. cheers!
hmmm. interesting, to go along with corruption it would seem would cease to make you a cynic but rather corrupt instead because one would no longer stand apart from the corruption but embrace it.
I'd have to consider myself a classical cynic then as I see the corruption (particularily in my field) and choose to take another route, while still understanding that that is how things are, hmmm, never really thought of myself that way before. thanks
@gratex i see both types of cynic in myself. I was a drop-out for many years and i've gone against the grain deliberately but I also played the family american dream crap for about five years...bought a house in the country, tried to be happy in a corporate job...then re-realized that most of happiness is about self respect
i actually felt the gravitiy of the sophists when i studied the ancients. history books make out like socrates and plato smashed them through sound philosophical tenants, but i disagree - they're alive and well, always have been, and plenty prevalent today.
Just "GROW UP!" LOL! >;-) Heard that before! Great upload! Thanks! >;-)

@Barklord ...not seeking an argument, simply a critique because i felt compelled to do so. take it or leave it.

@Gradet Why would you want something so proper and fake? Do You want someone speaking to you, or reading from a projector.?
Roahark 4 months ago
@Roahark i don't prefer either. it's the 'getting to the point' in a 'timely manner' that i prefer.

Thank you for this, youtube is seriously lacking in content in this department.

@DoloresD I'm fascinated by this long tradition that i never knew much about. Lasted about 800 years as an (anti)political force

i get called a cynic all the time, I thank them, and ponder over what they mean by cynic and how they came to that definition.
