  • Ya am going to go with the user Taking1n1Tutorials You took along time to put the password in for windows 7. They run the same time limet why cant you get along with the os. Just people live it alone my gosh Apple, linux, microsoft, etc All good OS systems okay back off please or get new hardware.

  • What's the soundtrack ? :)

  • just got unbuntu 10.4 and up date to 11.04 by itself

  • @scriptsrfun but it took forever to type in the password

  • that's not fair you took forever to type in the windows 7 password

  • If Adobe would suddenly start supporting Linux (not talking about Flash), that would be much bigger thing thang gaming support, considering that PC gaming is almost as niche as Linux is as an OS.

  • @MrSataGYPSYpitiful WhY YoU SPEakINg LikE A moThER-FuCKInG-DRip FoR?

  • are you sure that windows 7 is unmodified? default desktop and login screen doesn't look like this

  • At first, when I installed Ubuntu, I expected it to be not as good as everyone else was saying it was, but... The minute I installed it and booted it up for the first time, I knew it was the best thing I had ever done computer-wise. I now only use Windows (7) for gaming. Everything else? Ubuntu all the way. ;)

  • this thing just saved my inspiron duo after the godamned windows 7 system crashed! Ubuntu <3 from India!

  • UBUNTU 11.04!

  • I LOVE LINUX.

But I dont think it's fair to compare 7 AND LINUX like that.

7 can run much more sophisticated applications like games, like CRYSIS.

Of course it will be slower, it has to run bunch more services to keep up with all the spoiled kids who like 50 games that came out a month ago to work simultaneously (exaggerated to make my point).

Point is, Ubuntu (LINUX) is amazing, but this race is pointless...

  • @iliaMoment Do you know why Windows can run more programs than Linux ??? Cos' all the programs are made FOR or BY windows. If you had the same apps and programs, without using wine (and not all programs can run trough wine) , for linux, it would be a 100 times better than Windows.

  • @Nightmare198922 In general, that was silly post. For one thing, most programs were not made by Windows; they were made for Windows. another problem with what you is that there are just as m any programs used by everyday users for Windows as there are for Linux. Some of the most specialized programs, however, cannot be used on Windows (they are for BDS, Linux, and other types of Un*x OS).

  • @iliaMoment But you know these games are made FOR Windows. If they actually did make all the games also for Linux, Linux would be so superior it would be ridiculous. Imagine a fine tuned Arch Linux with game support. That would be the most perfect operating system so far. Ofcourse perfection is not possible, but that would come close.

  • music -.-

  • @illriginalized

I think that is a little to far window$ 7 is pretty good for lots of things.

lots of linux distros cant compete with it but some of the larger linux distros do blow windows away easily

  • Just been messing with 10.10. Its nice to use, but yeah lots of my software i use/need and uni work is all Windows based :s One day linux, me and you will be best mates

  • Can't wait for game developers to make their games compatible for Linux.. then so long Micro$oft

  • @illriginalized 'cant wait'... you're going to be waiting a long time buddy there aren't enough Linux users to make it commercially possible...

  • @Draven501 Congrats.. you're the first person this year to spout the biggest amount of bullshit within 1 sentence. lol Do you know how many Corporations use Linux? Just on the server side? You're telling me that Cisco the largest networking company in the world isn't, "commercial"? lol... Anyone with half a brain that knows how to read would realize how much better Linux is (whatever distro for that matter) better than Microsoft Windows lol...

  • And to add... technically, game developers don't, "have" to make their games Linux compatible... Linux devs simply port Windows or Mac versions of the game onto Linux and play it. It just takes some effort to get the games working. With that said... I personally play Crysis (and soon Crysis 2) on maximum settings (since Microsoft Windows 7 is still a processing whore bag compared to Linux) without any issues on my Linux box ;)

  • @jacwilliams666 Chrome OS is from Linux also!

  • I am a mac person I have 3 computers 2 macs 1 of the macs has bootcamp with windows 7 and my third computer I have linux

  • I dont think so. my w7 bootup and shutdown faster than ubuntu at the first time. but when i have tried several times, it comes different results.

  • Let's put it simple: If you are a smart guy you'll go for linux. If you are a masochist then you love windows. However, If you choose OSx, is simply because of two possible reasons: 1.- you have endless amounts of money and don't know what to do with it or 2.- You are a windows user pretending to be "cool".

  • @VotreCauchemar That makes sense. A Windows user choosing OS X... wouldn't that make them a.. i don't know... OS X USER???

    OS X is my preference.

  • @VotreCauchemar Wow,so what?I love gaming,and I use Windows.And everybody that I know uses Windows.And on my last check,I was not a masochist.

  • So Ubuntu is Emply, Windows have more plugins and support, but OS X all the way!!!!!!!!!!

  • @cybertronx1701 HERE HERE! Osx is linux stability and windows eyecandy. And we do have software abd games on osx:)

    And its 64 bits:)

  • @coniuc2d windows eyecandy? ubuntu looks better than windows, especially with compiz.

  • Actually my windows 7 shutsdown in like two hours and i only allowed security updates........ only need it 4 games other than that would have wiped it off. My recomendation is ubuntu, the possibilities are endless, unless ure a gamer.

  • @rehmh05 even that, now with playonlinux, you dont need windows, lol! starcraft 2 WoL works just fine and even fast due to linux being so light on the coding. lol i use less than half of my ram in linux, than in windows! that and you can do as much cool stuff with windows... gots to love open source developement

  • The funny thing is, one of the chrome OS videos says that even the fastest operating systems take 45 seconds to boot up

  • @mraof1 They didnt consider Ubuntu, my ubuntu boots up in 20 sec flat

  • Hey, your fucking links get covered by the gotdam scrubber slider. THINK dammit!

  • thing is windows checks the registry, hardware state, disk state, and then terminates all processes, whereas ubuntu kills the processes as soon as you terminate the program and at shut down checks all hardware, disk states etc.- so it is logical for windows to take more time to shut down/ start up-- nevertheless microsoft has a lot of work still to do concerning their prized windows because its not anywhere near "perfect" (that's what ms thinks) yet.

  • windows for spineless Down ))

  • Ubuntu life..... go go go Ubuntu.....

  • But windows 7 knows how to use an EXE file XD

  • @MrChristgopher Well so does Linux. We have a program called wine to run windows applications with.

  • @t0rkil Wine knows how not Linux... i dont wanna start a war but I'v been with window since 4 so i cant be changed.

  • @MrChristgopher well nvm I don't want to argue about this all day long. Someone likes linux some one like apple and some windows their choice ;)

  • @t0rkil Is it really their choice? I mean like it's your choice to say "it's their choice"? Because saying what you said only proves that you know how to mimic a bunch of twats talking about "choice". What's that prove? Proves that you haven't really thought.

  • @t0rkil And wine is fucking shittier than a Netherlands side walk. For those who don't know, The Netherlands is a country in Europe, often referred to as "Holland". It is inhabited by people who are known as being Dutch. The cities in the NL are filled with sidewalks that are covered with dogshit.

  • @MrChristgopher yeah, like a trojan! :D

  • 10.10 is even more faster!

    BTW i love tht sound

  • @TheCacashinha Go beat off then.

  • 10.10 is more faster..

    ____

    nice vid, faved =)

  • Boooooo Dell! boooooooooo

  • Ubuntu has SUCH less lag than Windows!

Vista lags the crap out of me D:!

  • one thing that i really like ubuntu is free

  • I think Linux will kick windows :D

  • @touqeer459

    its alreafy kiking! xD

  • I have both of them and I like my ubuntu 10.04 Linux a whole lot better =)

  • Linux is my primary OS and Windows is used specifically for gaming... wouldn't have it any other way. Linux <3

  • @DFSrlz Exactly like me dude, Linux rules, Windows just for gaming....

  • @DFSrlz Congratulations on being the umpteenth asshole to make this statement. You win a fucking slap upside da head.

  • Im currently on ubuntu and i have to say its incredibly fast :) i installed wine and i play wow :) im gonan try black ops lolz dont know how it will work but hey why not try it anyway ! :)

PC SPEC: ubuntu 10.10 32 bit

    250 gig

    3 gig of ram

    ati HD radeon 4650 :D

  • carga mas rapido mi 7x64 que el tuyo y el mio tiene 8 meses en servicio

  • depends on wat kind of computer you got, processor etc...=)

  • sorry ment sec

  • my computer loads in 13.6 min! your gbs are all used up or you got a virus and plus dell is gay! this clearly is unfair

  • I find that Windows 7 take a very long time from desktop and untill you can open an application (like Firefox).

On my desktop I use Windows 7 for gaming and Ubuntu 10.10 for work. On my Laptop i just have Ubuntu.

  • @AJenbo Same I use my LInux for school and to do everyday things, and the only time I touch my windows machine is for video games

  • personally i like them both im a student so i cant get around having windows. i have 7 i love 7 and i dont want to get rid of it. basically the when im not taking care of school work its ubuntu 10.04 all the way. im new to the world of linux and im not awesome with computers but after an hour of messing around with 10.04 they got me

  • @avprfan1 me too so much and its FREE :) awesome ^^

  • @avprfan1 well, if you use MS office for your school work, openoffice works just as good, or even better in my opinion.

  • muy berreta el testeo

  • ibm thinkpad t42 ubuntu 10.10 superfast 40sec boot time for sale on ebay username lowbudgetlaptops2010 or lowbudgetlaptops@aol.com

  • i have win 7 32bit (1TB, 4GB DD3 RAM, AMD 2x4 2,8GHz, GTX 260 , 600WATT, 3 coolers) and i want to install ubuntu 64bit on my PC too. SO win7 is for playing and ubuntu for working and other stuff . 1) is it possible 2) does Ubuntu support all of my hardware? 3) can wubi do it all?4)do i have to split my harddrive?5) can i use some programms from win 7 too?

    pls answer

    THANKS

PS: i think linux , ubuntu kick apples ass! better that these macs

  • @FEAR2Ghost 1: Yes. 2: All the hardware that you mentioned is supported. 3) Yes, but Wubi can be a bit sensetive when upgrating later on. 4) Not if you use Wubi, but it will reserve the space for Ubuntu, also splitting the drive is very easy and one of the steps in the installation process. 5) Yes, if you install Wine, but not all programs will work.

  • i like ubuntu, but i like too windows 7.and i installed in my notebook 10 inches and it working.

  • I think that people should use what they are comfortable with and works for them, personally I use both Windows 7 on one machine and Ubuntu 10.04 on another because I use both operating systems for different things. I like Windows because mostly I own a very large catalog of expensive software that I enjoy using and am used to. I use Ubuntu because it allows me the freedom to use my computer how I want to use it.

  • watch?v=IO1ps1mzU8o

  • Guys hesterday i read that ubuntu consume 65 % energy than windows. I used ubuntu for 4 mounths and now i now all the difference

    Ubuntu = for work

    Windows = for work,play

  • I am getting Ubuntu

  • @xserver2ltd best way is to download and install wubi, just google wubi! :D

  • @unrealjeff actually wubi was inserted on disc ubuntu.

  • @abealfandza Yes but you can also get it from a download on the ubuntu website.

  • @unrealjeff i got Ubuntu Lucid Lynx and installing it with wubi on my notebook with processors intel atom N270

  • Windows 7 was owned, downloading UNBUNTU :)

  • espero esto no ofenda a nadie pero AQUIEN CARAJOS LE IMPORTA EL TIEMPO EN QUE ENTRE XD

  • @Kostarcng Cool story bro.

  • oh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

  • Hi everybody. Today, i installed linux ubundu and my first impresions are positive. Thought that im a lifetime windows user. Ok, not lifetime, my first pc was an Atari 1040st. i'm going to explore next days, as i have it as double boot now with xp.As for windows 7 are good but it's just ****** windows with all of their problems. I hope to unstuck from windows because Ubundu seem's a real honest and well built system. See ya!

  • Duvido que tenha alguém aqui usando o windows 7 original, quanto mais o xp.

  • Ubuntu is show! I love it \o/

  • ay se ve cual es mejor jaja (Linux)

  • What the specs on the system you're using? If it's a dual-core or higher, you can setup Windows to boot from all CPUs instead of one.

  • my w7 aint that slow

  • هناك إختلاف كبير بين نظام يعمل فيه اكثر من 8 برامج بالبدايه ونظام لا يعمل فيه الا 3 برامج بالبدايه , لماذا لا تجرب تنصب نسخه خام لكل النظامين

  • so ubuntu pwnns lolz

  • @pivotnoobanimz

    The short answer: Yeah.

    The long answer: **** yeah.

  • just so that you guys know I am a fan of both OSs (and Snow Leopard if you wanna know). theres no doubt Ubuntu is quicker than both Windows 7 and Mac OS X Snow Leopard, but one thing I have gotta point out is that in this video Windows 7 login screen finishes loading under 21.7, you were 1 second late.

    :)

  • GO UBUNTUUUUUUUU

Don't have it but i love it ;D

  • @TiTaan86 Ubuntu is way better than Windows indeed. In fact I'm more of a fan of OpenSuSE myself though... it's less bloated with unneeded stuff (if I recall correctly, ubuntu has iPod sync by default, while you have to install that in OpenSuSE, to name an example) and it feels even faster. Also, on my current computer (3 years old) I do a full boot including BIOS in about 12-16 seconds.

  • @TiTaan86 Then download it. It's free.

  • there is a reason why majority of people pay for windows

  • @djmoindahouse you think people PAY for windows? BAHAHA

  • @g0b1u3jonboy dont get me wrong ubuntu is great but windows has everything that people need in their everyday life. its not all about speed and stability. iv never had any problem with my xp in years anyway. i think thats the reason why the majority of people use windows. just to say Microsoft does crackdown on illegal copies. BE GENUINE!!!

  • @djmoindahouse my win 7 has been a cracked copy for 1 year+ so far an nothing has happened yet.

  • @g0b1u3jonboy damn howd you do that all my friends who tried it failed and i dont wanna mess up mine

  • @djmoindahouse you need to use windows 7 loader i can send u the file with instructions if you want it adds a key to the system to make windows think its genuine so it never raises suspicion.

  • @g0b1u3jonboy nah i like my xp and i have to reinstall to get seven too much trouble but thanks anyways

  • @djmoindahouse Yup, you're right. And do you also know what that reason is? it's called marketing. Schools getting free computers with Windows, to learn people that Windows is good and the rest is evil. Having entire projects to get developers to develop for Windows. Marketing. That's the reason behind it.

Oh, and WIndows does not have everything people need. That's all external software, which also exists for Linux.

  • @joepie91 That should've been "teach people", not "learn people". Not being a native English speaker sometimes causes that kind of typo. Just saying it myself before the fanboys jump on it.

  • @joepie91 yeah i get what you mean but its all about business getting the most profit. i personally prefer windows because of the huge library of programes

  • @djmoindahouse In fact, that's exactly what Linux is NOT about :)

Also, what many people do not know that practically for EVERY Windows program, there is a Linux equivalent that works just as well or better. Pretty much the only thing you can't do in Linux is run most games, and even that is shifting now Steam for Linux is being developed. If you don't game often, you can just use Linux for everything you used to do. Hell, even .NET development for Windows applications is possible!

  • @djmoindahouse

    1. Linux is opensource and free and all software has a linux equivalent for free.

    2. Run ALL Windows programs in Wine on PlayOnLinux.

    3. Convert batch files to .sh and then even Windows batch files can run in Linux.

  • @Edge0fPain if ubuntu has all of this why dont they just advertise

  • @djmoindahouse

Becuase Linux is free and OpenSource.

  • @djmoindahouse do you know how much money it costs to advertise something.

I doubt they can gather up enough money, considering its free software.

  • @MikeREEZ i dont know if your trying to force me to say that ubuntu is better. so let me just say this. I BELIEVE that windows 7 is better. I am NOT trying to say that ubuntu is shit. i DONT want to go to ubuntu. i WANT to use a system that is EASY. now could people please not comment back thank you.

  • @djmoindahouse I'm not trying to get you to say anything. You asked why ubuntu doesn't advertise and I answered. It can cost millions to get an effective advertisement campaign out on television, websites, exc. Money that is not there because it is free software. I don't really care what operating system you like. I like windows 7 because it looks nice and orange isnt really appealing to me. However, linux is the best IMO because theres no viruses, and all that other shit like windows has. LLL

  • @djmoindahouse Lol. That's all I'm going to say.

  • Auto Login ASAP PLS..!

  • Windows just blows, it's old and outdated, time for them to try something new because it works like shit

  • Linux wins...

  • my pc is always on... i don't care boot time.

  • При работе с Windows явно не спешат, в отличии от убунту) Особенно при вводе пароля) и вообще во всем. Но даже с учетом этого убунту быстрее)

  • So what ? :) Can i play GTR or Crysis on Ubuntu ?

I can wait one more minute to play those and others :)

Ubuntu is nice for a normal usage and limited hardware computers :)

  • @kankanpt

Though I doubt it, Crysis 2 on Linux isn't as farfecthed as you may think. Steam is coming to Linux AND Crysis 2 is already in development for PS3 which uses OpenGL. It's possible, but I doubt it's being ported to Linux. Eventually though you will be able to run the Windows version of Crysis under Linux through WINE once they finally figure out all the bugs surrounding that game. GTR Evolution and GTR 2 work in WINE and GTR: FIA is rated garbage, but wasn't tried in a recent WINE.

  • Windows 7 =D

  • ubuntu is like a free version of mac and windows combined

  • It's not because i hate windows ( runs fine on newer hardware) but i'll always prefer Ubuntu.

  • There is a reason why less than 2% of the World's population uses Linux, Linux is a piece of shit. Linux is incompatible with most modern hardware/software.

Linux is for people who eat government cheese and cannot afford a real OS or corporations looking to save a few bucks.

I work with Linux every day at work and it is garbage. Thousands of so called "free" software available and 99.99% of that software is trash.

  • @Exofire the reason why it's not used a lot is cause it has really little commercials going on. And way too many PC-users are just looking for a computer to play WoW with.

And most likely cause idiots like you don't actually know how to use Linux, you just sit on it.

  • @Roguerezz

The RECOMMENDED WAY of playing World of Warcraft is through WINE under Linux.

  • @AFreakinProblem it might be, but a lot of PC-users got intel graphics, and that ain't supported too good by Linux, so some programs won't run if they require too good graphics. But Linux and WoW=no lag

  • @Roguerezz huh? you're replying to someone who just talked about running windows games on linux and you're saying many of us have intel graphics? pretty sure you ain't running wow past minimum on one of those, let alone crysis 2 (say hi to blue screen?)

  • @WWoodyW wow, and you almost got WoW in your name.

Yeah, lots of PC-users got Intel.

And I go past the min reqs.

2 GB RAM, 3.06 MHZ, intel 8x, 80 GB HDD.

    Not past min? phail.

  • @Roguerezz 3.06 MHZ ? i'll have to dig my ZX out :P

  • @xdeadstarpsyclonx sorry, meant GHZ xD bad typo...too much computer-thinking..

  • @Roguerezz haha, dont worry about it, saw it as a chance to make an awful retro computing joke ;)

  • @Roguerezz cool that quie nice, i have a simliar computer with xp on it it runs great it a 2.5gig ram 3.4ghz,pentium 4 hyper threading and 440 gig hard drive with

120 gig external hard drive being shipped to my house about tommow

  • @kevingp12 =O nice =D!!

  • @Exofire

    Obvious troll is obvious

  • @Exofire If you play a lot of games, yeah you're gonna need windows. If you use your computer for web browsing, videos, homework etc. Ubuntu is much faster and reliable than windows. I have a dual boot setup and I will often go weeks without booting up into windows. There are some pretty junky linux os's out there too, but I'm pretty happy with ubuntu. Windows is the most popular because it's been established as the standard for so long. It's still a buggy piece of junk.

  • This music is cool, name please?

  • Comment removed

  • @MJBDC07 Ubuntu is pretty easy and it works great, but if your gonna play a lot games setup a dual boot system so you still have the ability to use either OS. The ubuntu website has a pretty straightforward walkthrough on this.

  • Ubuntu+ Immune to windows viruses+ fast= win

  • @happygamestvfun1 Ubuntu Lucid Lynx is faster.....GO UBUNTU!!

  • ubuntu 10.04 works very nice.

    please

    I love this backsound

can you tell me the song name?

  • go ubuntu! GO UBUNTU!

  • Try it with Chrome on Ubuntu its even quicker !

  • lol this is a biased video, whats with all these linxu geeks saying how fast their ubuntu is, honeslty it did some stuff slower than my windows did on same computer, plus it has way more bugs then windows, its ok though since its free i guess, but isnt windows free to?

  • @happygamestvfun1

    windows free -> LOL

  • @happygamestvfun1 windows..faster..? NO!

less bugs than windows, less lines of code too.

Windows? free? are you trying to be funny..?

  • @Roguerezz i found windows to be faster than linux in most cases, mabey it's slower booting, but seems quicker running, and windows 7 works flawlessly, but with ubuntu i had lots of trouble, once i had to reformat the whole thing becuase it refused to start once i changed a theme.... if i wasnt a it wizz pro then i wouldnt have even bothred with fixing the linux problems, and yes i found ubuntu to be better than mac os x

  • @happygamestvfun1 hm, I assume you have some hardware not supported? Linux runs pretty for me, Windows doesn't oh well...it's up to what we all like and have...

  • @happygamestvfun1 nah windows 7 goes from $120 to $220

  • @happygamestvfun1 Free Windows? Damn, I'm shopping wherever you are from now on. After, we'll go get some free Starbucks, then head to the nearest street corner and get some free hookers.

  • @jimboinlimbo well hey, you can do that if you want, im sure sombody from starbucks aint gona be to please, oh and expect a visit from her pimp. have fun with the free stuff.

  • @happygamestvfun1 Wish me luck.

  • Startup for Ubuntu is only 17 seconds? Canonical holds true to its 10 second expectation.
