  • also, the lyrics were slightly changed and the chorus re-arranged to make more sense structure wise and be more accessable. I challenge anyone to listen to Hardin's album version- it's nice but nothing special- then Darin's album version- and tell me Bobby Darin didn't improve that song a LOT. and not just because he sang it.

  • @qaesyan- I'd argue you are factually correct but incorrect to an extent, actually. If Darin and Hardin had been in a band and Hardin's version had been the demo he'd brought to the band- Darin would have had a co-writing credit on this song. Forget about popularizing it- Bobby Darin made it the classic it is. What you should consider is, the famous bassline is completely Darin's invention, as is the arrangement and cohesiveness of it.

  • I was expecting the worse here, but its a great version.

  • Doesn't sound like a cockney here! LOL

  • This is not the original. The orignal was done by Bobby Darin and released in 1966.

  • @65motowngirl Actually, you're incorrect too. The original was both composed and performed by Tim Hardin. Bobby Darin is just the one that popularized the song. Hardin's version didn't appear on an album until 67, which is what leads most people to the confusion since Darin released his version in 66.

  • very very nice this song is so grat, sorry for this bad english,:-) form germany

  • I've never heard this version. Very nice!
